_____________

Harry was walking down the beach, his feet dug in the golden sand, the waves reaching him on his left side and on the other there was Olivia.
Her eyes stared at the sand that covered his feet and hers, her hand craved to touch his yet she knew better than that.

It was sad. Walking by the place that created happiness and trust. It was all too weird to think about it. Thinking about that moment and then at that. All too confusing and they knew it.
Words touched their tongues but never their lips. Words that begged to be said out loud, yet the both of them didn't know how to, despite all the moments they had the chance to practice by yelling at each other.

Nobody would have ever thought that Harry and Olivia would have reached the point in their relationship where talking would become a priority - almost.
Expressing their feelings and problems seemed like something they weren't supposed to do anymore.

"Do you regret it?", Olivia asked him with a small voice; yet she knew the answer. She knew the answer even when the waves reached his ankles and even when the sun started fading into a beautiful sunset.

"No.", Harry responded with the same pain she held in her own voice.
His green eyes captured hers and their bodies stopped functioning.
Their feet didn't carry them any further, letting the water reach her ankles aswell.
Her body stood in front of his, Harry's eyes didn't intimidate her anymore, making her keep the intense eye contact.

"Should we break up?", he asked making her blink.
"What do you think?", she continued and she knew the answer once again. But it hurt; even when his hair assumed the colour of gold as the sun set its last rays on him.

Harry looked away at her words. He cheated. He was a cheater and he would always be known as the cheater. Oh, he is the guy that cheated.

"I-I think... Uh... It's just, we're not working, I guess.", Olivia looked at him and fought the urge to laugh at the pathetic words.
"Oh, we do. You just stopped trying."

_____________

Olivia was walking down the same beach four years later. Four years after Harry declared that he wasn't made for that kind of relationship anymore. She wondered what he achieved after her.

She didn't find herself another man, not that it was her priority anyways.
Olivia didn't think that she was incapable of giving and receiving love, she just didn't want to take that step yet.

Harry used to be a very important piece of her life and she repeated to herself that it was okay to still feel not a 100% okay.

Her shoes caressed the sand and her arms moved with the wind, making strands of hair move as well.
Her eyes looked at the point where the water touched the sky, until laughter made her blink and take her eyes away from the beautiful view.

The laughter came from a little girl who was holding a hand of a beautiful woman.
Shaking her head, Olivia kept looking at the sky and as she wanted to take her earbuds, laughter stopped her again.

Her head turned around to grab the object from the bag, but that's when she saw her past lover.
Harry running behind the little girl, stopping to hug the woman from behind.

It was a stunning scene, she had to admit. Yet it hurt, maybe because he had moved on or because the woman he hugged was the woman she caught him kissing a long time ago.

Who knows, but Olivia cherished the beautiful moments and kept Harry as a beautiful memory.
