AROUND them were people in red. Lena spun around as she walked behind Klaus, eyes wide as she took them all in. There seemed to be a special parade meaning it was a special day in New Orleans, but Lena didn't know what it was. She just knew it involved people wearing red robes and people being really into the colour red. There were also some people in white, but they had red linings and buttons and stuff.

"I searched the entire French Quarter," Klaus told Marcel over the phone. "Finn's vanished. I can't remove the barrier that has you trapped until I have my hand around his throat."

Lena's felt a hand slip into hers and she was being tugged through the crowd of people in red. She glanced up at Klaus, but he was paying attention to Marcel more than her. Although his grip on her hand was tight, meaning that she couldn't slip away to find out what the festival actually was.

"Davina. She doesn't know it yet, but she's gonna help me break his spell. Your job: keep Kol alive, at least until we learn Rebekah's whereabouts. Are you listening to me?"

Lena let out a sigh as a kid ran through her legs. He had on a red hoodie over his white t-shirt and was chasing his friend who wore a red outfit similar. She couldn't help but smile sadly to herself. One day Hope would be that big.

Suddenly Klaus stopped and Lena went crashing into his back. He didn't even seem to notice. She went to say - more like snap - something to him, but then she noticed the distraught look that had forced his face to fall and her eyebrows furrowed.

"I will get you my blood." Lena's mouth fell open slightly. Someone must have got bitten. By the look on Klaus' face, she was sure it was Marcel. "I will get you out of that house, Marcellus, whatever it takes!"

Klaus pocketed his phone then and took Lena by the hand again, leading her through the hordes of people in red. He could see the confusion on her face and he couldn't help but wonder why she wasn't asking the question that was clearly on her mind. Maybe she was too caught up in trying to find Rebekah? Maybe there was something else bothering her?

"It's Carillon Eve, the locals shroud the eyes of angels so the dead can walk among them for a night without judgement," he explained as they stopped on the sidewalk for a moment so that Lena could revell in yet another New Orleans Holiday. Lena hadn't noticed the chiming bells until now. "The bells wake the dead and guide them to eternal rest. Now, little witch, you know as well as I that we don't have time to waste."

Lena nodded and allowed Klaus to lead her into the church. She had wanted to search everywhere in the French Quarter for Rebekah, but Klaus was not going to allow her to do that. He had a plan and it had to be seen through and he knew that Lena would not be safe until he had Finn in his grasp.
