Collateral Damage.

My insides are burning with chaos,

Threatening to spillover to cause collateral damage,

Irreparable damage that soak up kindness with a sponge,

Streaking blood on fresh, clean pages.

Hurricanes are not pretty; tsunamis are forces of nature

That you cannot control;

Much like the human spite, you can only watch it drive a wedge

Into filled hearts and whole souls.

Let me tell you the secret of shattered souls and selves:

You don't need to feel anything to give out sympathy and kindness.

The filled and whole cannot understand sadness

But the broken recognize and respond to emptiness

Because when there is nothing good left inside of you,

You are drawn to sadness like it's the beacon of hope

(The irony) that maybe someone might put words into this lack of breath.

You thrash around in the water, looking for a way to cope

And keep living, keep finding ways to strike up a fire inside of you

So you don't drain the life out of those beside you,

So you don't shatter their lives like the others did before you,

So you don't lash out because anger remains the only thing you can feel and do.

My insides are still burning with chaos,

A sandstorm of hate, spitting grains of jealousy, tangling limbs of confusion

And all I'm wishing for is a reprieve,

A pause, a rest, a period, a conclusion.

(And this marks the last poem for this book!! I'll be opening up a new book when I write the next poem so look out for that! Not the happiest poem for the end of this set of poems but in a way, these hundred poems marked my growing up. It wasn't pretty but I don't regret anything. OKAY so watch this space!)

HELLO GUYSS! So, I've started a new poem book and the link is:

http://www.wattpad.com/story/21680822-poems-for-the-sad-and-weary

You can find this book by looking through my works! Despite the difference in the title, the poems are still the same poems that I always write. I just thought that the themes I usually deal with have changed a little and hence, it's a little fancier haha. Anyway, I hope you enjoy all the poems here, from the first book up to the next. They all mean a lot to me and I'm grateful that you've read to this point. Thank you very much. :)
