Letting Go.

It's not as easy as it seems theory-wise, but it's not impossible.

LETTING GO:

Letting go of someone

Isn’t as easy as it seems.

It’s not just the releasing of a grip,

Or the unraveling of a seam.

In reality, our hearts are fastened

To our chests with many veins.

Letting go means digging out your heart,

Or stopping it altogether; it’s the same.

To cut away each stitch,

You need tears; a bucketful at least.

To stop the blood from gushing out,

I’ll need a carton of tissue, please.

Ignoring the person isn’t the same,

As letting him go.

It’s merely ignoring the beating of the heart,

While all the blood continues to flow.

No, you need to get it out of your system,

And become immune to the loss.

Once you have gotten a new heart,

You need to clean it well, with disinfectant and floss.

Letting go is when you meet that same person,

And your heart no longer quickens in pace.

Because your old heart is now gone,

And you’re finally safe.
