Chapter 18

COMMENT AND VOTE LOVELY PEOPLE :D

The shooting in Colorado was extremely depressing:(

What a nice way to start off huh?

* * * * * * * * * *

The gasps of shock from the entire table was louder than a shotgun.

For the first time ever, Tom Riddle was stunned into silence, and I cursed the fact I was beginning to sober up.

He didn't even wince or flinch in pain, but appeared to be shocked at the fact I would be so stupid to even perform the action.

Slowly, Tom regained composure, a heavily deep glare forming along the lines of his lips. His hands curled into fists so tight at his sides you could see his knuckles morphing from a pale, to an even impossibly whiter tone.

In that moment I was prepared to run, my adrenaline kicking in as instinct took over.

Just in time though, a teacher finally showed up.

He didn't seem to be very old, maybe in his middle-forties? He had grown a long, curly beard and wore half-mooned spectacles. Wise, clear and bright blue eyes hid behind the glasses, calm and patient.

He placed a hand in Tom's shoulder, causing Tom's entire reaction of anger, to turn into one of happiness and sweetness.

Whoa, whoa whoa. What was going on?

Tom smiled plastically, yet it would have been enough to fool any teacher.

"Hello professor Dumbledore! How nice to see you." He grinned a dazzling smile once again.

Professor Dumbledore peered at him over his spectacles, as if

scrutinizing him.

"Hello Tom, why don't you return to your house table? Don't want you missing out on the amazing feast." Tom's facade didn't waver for a second as he nodded joyfully and walked back over to his table, where almost the entire clan of his friends glared at me harshly.

I then realized what I had done. I had shown an act of violence towards another student. I could get expelled!

"Professor, I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me-" I had begun to say, prepared to beg.

He waved his hands in the air, telling me to stop.

"It's quite alright dear, just make sure it doesn't happen again." I almost got down and kissed his feet, but resisted the urge and nodded truthfully.

"Of course sir." He smiled delicately before wandering his eyes over to Slytherin table, probably watching Tom.

"If he gives you anymore trouble, let me know." He whispered, before trudging up to where all the other professors were waiting, giving me disapproving looks.

Well, what a nice way to start off my first day.

Dinner ended, and only one boy and girl rose from each table. I furrowed my eyebrows quizzically, confused as to why only they were rising from their seats.

"Those are the house prefects. They lead the first years to were they're supposed to go." I heard Ned add as we began to get up also. I had noticed Tom had been among the prefects, gathering all the Slytherin first-years almost in anger.

"Miranda and I will show you around Ravenclaw common room, and show you around the castle tomorrow." I nodded without much say in the subject, plans already decided even before they began.
