"sh-ho-ot?" I said, trying to keep my voice from quivering, but I could feel goosebumps poke through my skin and I knew my eyes were widening in worry. Alex noticed my worry and sat down next to me on the table. He tried to break my head away from Ethan who was filling up a needle with whatever was in the can.

"Evan look at me," Alex said. I faced him, but my widening eyes were still glued to the needle. I jumped back slightly when Ethan turned to me. He then stopped and leaned against the cabinet.

"You know I won't do it until you look at Alex," He said. "And I got..." He stopped to look at his thick silver watch "all night, and all day tomorrow, and-"

"Ethan," Alex said, smiling at him. Then he turned back to me. "Evan I need you to look at me, I promise it won't hurt much," I started panting. "Evan!" Alex yelled at me. "Focus on me," But my vision was already blurring. "Evan," Alex said, his voice fading slightly, I fell on his chest and then a sharp pain stabbed into my arm.

I felt a hand smooth out my hair and another rub my back. I cried softly into Alex's chest. "I'm terrible, a coward!" I mumbled.
