“So where are you taking me?” I ask again, looking over at the curly haired boy beside me an innocent smile on my face. He sees my expression and snorts.

“You can’t fool me,” he says with a grin and I respond by sticking my tongue out at him, crossing my arms over my chest. I smile at how easy everything was with Harry. Even though we’d only been dating for a few weeks now, everything was just so simple. So right. We were taking things slow, in order to try and stay away from the drama the press could cause. Neither one of us wanted the press hounding us all the time. I look out the window and smile slightly to myself as I see familiar landscape start appearing.

“Harry?” I ask slowly, causing him to glance over warily.

“Are we going to the beach?” I ask.

“Bloody hell, how did you know?” he asks shocked. I let out a laugh, a smile splitting my face.

“Harry, this is like my favorite place to go, don’t you think I’d recognize the way there?” I ask teasingly. He looks over at me, grinning sheepishly as he runs a hand through his hair causing his curls to bounce around.

“Didn’t think about that” he admits.

“And since you refused to tell me where we were going, I don’t have a swimsuit either” I point out.

“Didn’t think about that either” he says with a laugh. I give him a dramatic sigh as I shake my head at him in mock disappointment. Despite not having a suit, I was suddenly a lot more excited about our destination. I loved the beach. The fact that it combines two of my favorite things, swimming and the outdoors, made it pretty much the best place ever. I’m practically bouncing in my seat as we finally pull into the parking lot, much to Harry’s amusement. I pretty much leap out of the car the second he takes out the key and wait for him to get out.

“C’mon, c’mon lets go” I say impatiently as he walks around to the trunk and pops it open.

“Slow down” he says with a laugh pulling a picnic basket out of the trunk. “I want today to be special” he says with a smile.

“What’s so great about today?” I ask curiously.

“Nothing” he replies with a smile, kissing me on the forehead and taking my hand as we walk towards the shore. I didn’t fully believe him, but I figured he’d let me know on his own time.

“Last one to the water is a rotten egg” I yell, not caring about getting my clothes wet as I race to the water.

“Hey not fair” he yells running after me, dropping the basket a little ways away. I smile as I splash through the shallow water before diving in. I close my eyes, letting the feeling of the water pressure rush over me. This is what I lived for, the feeling of the water around me. I pop back above, treading water as I see Harry a few feet away.

“Slow poke” I say with a grin as he swims over to where I was. He sticks his tongue out at me.

“I could totally beat you in a race” he says cheekily.

“Oh yea?” I ask raising an eyebrow. He nods his head and I grin.

“First one to the bouy and back wins” I say. He nods his head in agreement.

“What do I get when I win?” he asks with a wink.

“Well when I win you’re going to tell me what makes today so special” I say with a smirk.

“Fine, but when I win, you have to tell me you love me” he says with a grin. I suck in a breath. That was one thing that neither of us had mentioned yet.

“Do we have a deal?” he asks raising an eyebrow. I nod my head as I get ready. Harry counts down and I take off, feeling the water slide past my arms in each stroke. I settle into the groove and when I reach the bouy I risk a glance back at Harry and see him quite a distance behind me. I smirk to myself as I turn back towards shore, passing him on the way back. I come to a rest where we started and see Harry just turning away from the bouy.

“Aww you thought you could beat me?” I say jokingly as he finally gets back. He shakes his head, a grin on his face.

“Forgot you were on the swim team” he says sheepishly.

“So are you going to tell me what today is or not?” I ask impatient.

“I can’t believe you don’t remember” he teases wrapping his hands around my waist pulling me close. I smile, tangling my fingers into his now wet curls.

“It’s the one month anniversary of the day I first met you” he says, his green eyes boring into mine. “One month exactly since my world was completely turned around.”
