“I don’t know if I can do this” I say nervously stepping back from the edge of the stage into the shadows.

“C’mon love you’ll be fine” Louis persists, taking my hand, tugging me gently to urge me forward. I shake my head, eyes wide with fear. It was the day Louis and I had agreed to make our relationship public. He had brought me along to one of the live interviews and was trying to get me to go onstage. I slip my hand out of his wrapping it around my stomach. I already knew what people would say if they knew we were dating.

“Why would he go out with that?”

“She’s huge!”

“What a cow”

I inwardly cringe as the future hate scrolls through my head and I look down at the ground avoiding his eyes. Even I didn’t know what he saw in me.

“Hey” Louis says, tilting my chin up so I’d meet his eyes. “You’re insecure, don’t know what for” he croons, making a smile tug at the edge of my lips. “Everyone will love you. You’re funny, smart, and the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen” he says surprising me with his seriousness. “Besides if we can get you a mic and you can start singing your version of A-Team no one will be able to resist” he says with a chuckle referring to the talent show where we had met. One Direction had been the surprise guests and I had been just a regular performer. Apparently the second I’d started singing he’d frozen, despite being in the middle of a headlock by Harry, and couldn’t stop staring until my performance was done. After that he’d spent the rest of the night chatting me up much to my surprise, not even the carrot cake at the buffet table had been able to pull him away.

I take a deep breath, gathering my confidence and nod, letting him pull me out from behind the curtain before my nerves got the better of me.

“Ladies and gentleman” Louis calls out dramatically strutting to the center of the room arms spread wide to the cheers of many girls. “May I introduce the lovely Brandi Carson” he continues. I look over at the interviewer who was looking really lost. Obviously she had never met anyone like Louis before. He always had the ability to completely capture the room, pulling all attention to him. “Now I know what you’re thinking” Louis says, pulling my attention back to him as he continues talking. “Who is that guy that pulled such a beauty onto the stage” he says, obviously referring to himself, a grin on his face. “Well, my lovely audience,” he pauses, taking my hand pulling me to the middle of the room with him. I bury my face against his chest self conscious, peeking out at the audience.

“I happen to be the lucky boyfriend” he says before pressing his lips to mine causing me to forget all my worries.
