“Zayn you said you’d help me practice” I plead holding my script in hand. He lets out a sigh, setting down his comic book.

“Babe, you’ll do amazayn” he says jokingly, using his own name.

“Just because you’re a famous doesn’t mean you can back out of your promises” I say crossing my arms. “I know it’s only the school musical but still, I got the lead! I have to be perfect”

“Fine” he says with a sigh picking up the script. “Where are we starting?” I skim through the lines, looking for the perfect spot to start.

“Let’s start from ‘Do you trust me’ “ I instruct. He groans.

“You’re going to make me sing also?” he asks raising an eyebrow. I smirk, nodding at him. I loved listening to him sing. Even back before the X-factor, when he’d just walk around singing.

“Fine” he says sighing dramatically. With how dramatic he could be, he’d be a great broadway star, I think to myself.

“Do you trust me?” he asks. I pause a moment.

“Yes” I say, allowing a mischevious smile to emerge on my face, quickly pressing play on the recording the director had given me to practice. Zayn starts singing his part, the words flowing from his lips, causing a shiver to ripple down my spine as his beautiful voice washes over me. Finally, it is my turn.

“A whole new world” I begin “A dazzling place I never knew. But when I’m way up here, it’s crystal clear that now I’m in a whole new world with you.” I sing melodically, meeting Zayn's eyes, taking the hand he extends out to me. 

“Now I’m in a whole new world with you” he continues.

“Unbelievable sights” I join in “Indescribable feelings, soaring tumbling freewheeling through an endless diamond sky. A whole new world” I sing, a smile on my face as Zayn spins me around before pulling me close again, making the song into a dancing number.

“Don’t you dare close your eyes” he sings, his beautiful brown eyes sparkling with life as they meet mine.

“A hundred thousand things to see” I sing through my ever growing smile.

“Hold your breath it gets better”

“I’m like a shooting star, I’ve come so far, I can’t go back to where I used to be.” I sing when Zayn dips me, causing me to break character with a laugh.

“A whole new world,” he sings his eyes locked with mine

“Every turn a surprise” I sing almost teasingly as he pulls me out of the dip and spins me away.

 “With new horizons to pursue.” He says, his fingers barely holding onto mine.

“Every moment red letter” I sing, spinning back into his arms as the lock around me, holding my back to his stomach.

“I’ll chase them anywhere there’s time to spare, let me share this whole new world with you.” We harmonize, as I look up at him, leaning my head back against his shoulder.

“A whole new world” he sings as I add the harmony. “That’s where we’ll be. A thrilling chase”

“A wondrous place”

“For you and me” we finish, the recording ending as he presses his lips against mine.

“You know I’ll always be you’re Prince Charming” he says turning me around to face him, resting his forehead against mine.

“That’s not how the story goes” I say teasingly, knowing the script has been forgotten.

“I know” he says with a smile “But it’s how ours will”
