I let out another sigh as I stamp another book. I was bored to death. This job was so slow, I couldn’t believe I was stuck in the library all day. I mean, granted, it was an easy job. But it was just so BORING. But hey, it was money. I’d take what I could get. I had to pay for Uni somehow after all. And besides, since this was only the history library, not many people came, so I could listen to my music whenever I wanted. Currently my obsession was One Direction. They were this hot new boy band and they had just come to America so I was pumped. I let out another sigh of boredom, earning a look from some grumpy old man in the corner. What’s his problem? I think to myself as I glare back at him until he looks away grumbling something about kids these days.

“Why are we even here?” a voice whines down the hall. I perk up slightly, hearing multiple sets of footsteps approaching our little corner of the library.

“Shh we’re in a library” another voice scolds. “And you know why we’re here, we’re doing the Uni tour.”

“Doesn’t explain why we are at the library” a third voice grumbles.

“Yea, I’m hungry, lets find the food court” another voice adds. My brow furrows as I listen to their steady approach. There was something off about their voices. They didn’t sound American. Were they exchange students? International transfer students? And what did they mean about the Uni tour?

“We’re here because I actually like books” a fifth voice chimes in. Jeez how many people were here? I think to myself. This was probably more people than the library has seen all week.

“And so do I” the second voice chimes in again “And besides, we already did what you want Haz. We were down by the pool for ages. Didn’t you get enough numbers then?” the voice continues as they near the corner blocking them from view. By now I was dying to see who these mystery boys were. They were just what I needed to make the day more exciting. How sad was that? My day would be livened simply by eavesdropping on foreign exchange students who were obviously here to tour potential campuses. Oh the woes of being a minimum-wage worker. I was practically bouncing as I saw the group emerge from around the corner.

“Holy Llamas!” I shriek, before slapping a hand to my mouth as I’m shushed by that old man. One Direction was standing in front of me, obviously startled by my reaction. Niall, however, seemed to think my choice of curses was hilarious and was bent over laughing.

“Hello love” Liam says, a smile twitching at the corner of his lips.

I uncover my mouth “Hi” I say with a grin.

“I’m guessing from that greeting you know who we are?” Harry says a smirk on his face. I nod, my eyes not leaving Liam though. He had always been my favorite but up close, he was even more perfect.

“Cool, not many people seem to have known us in America yet” Zayn says with his whole ‘Bradford Bad Boi’ attitude. I nod my head. The only reason I had known about them was because of tumblr. That site treated them as if they were gods, which, now that I see them in person, they certainly resemble. I force myself to calm down. Gotta act cool.

“So, you like books?” I ask raising an eyebrow at Zayn who I had recognized as the one who had said he did. He nods his head. “I think I can help you guys out then” I say walking out from behind the counter, leading them back into the stacks. I rack my brain for what I remembered about each of the boys from tumblr so I could give them the types of books they’d be interested in. Niall liked food so I take him to section all about the history of food. He grins, settling down infront of the stacks as he searches the titles for something he’d like. Harry likes girls so I lead him to the section on sex. (A/N I actually work at a history library and there is such a thing. Reading the titles of these books is hilarious). He lets out a laugh, grabbing the first book he sees off the shelf and flipping through the pages. Zayn liked art so I lead him to the historic artists section. He smiles, plucking off a few books and taking them to the arm chair as he starts reading. Louis would be the hard one. I frown as I study him. He looked at me, an expectant smile on his face. He had seen how well I had picked for the others, that he was expecting me to get it just right for him. I knew he liked carrots and always acted childish but I didn’t know how that would help me find a good section for him. I finally decide that, since he always dresses like he’s on a boat, he must like boats and lead him to the history of sailing. He seems satisfied and proceeds to examine the books. Finally, its just Liam and I.

“Let’s see” I say ponderingly as we walk back up tot the front desk where I could search the sections quickly, tapping my chin as I examine him. I already knew where I was taking him. I was just doing this so I had an excuse to eye-rape him. God he was gorgeous, he even had a purple shirt on. Does he know how much I love purple???

“Oh you don’t have to take me anywhere” he says suddenly. I look at him, startled. “I thought you liked books also?” I say, referencing the hallway.

“Oh I do” he assures me. “But there’s something I’d rather have instead”

“Yea?” I ask, raising my eyebrow questioningly.

“Well you see” he starts, a teasing glint appearing in his eyes.

“I was walking down the hallway with my friends and I heard the strangest phrase” he says, a grin appearing on his face. I feel my face flush. He was talking about my Holy Llamas. “Maybe it’s just because we don’t have that phrase in England, but I’d really like to get the chance to hear other such phrases” he continues. “And who better to teach them to me but the lovely girl that uttered the first one?” he says, a cheeky smile on his face. “So unless you can show me a book on how to ask a girl out for dinner, I’ll have to do this the old fashioned way”

“Well actually—“ I start jokingly, knowing there was a section on courting rituals.

“Shhh” he shushes me jokingly. “Tonight at 7?” he asks as he steals my phone off the counter, typing in his number.

“Tonight at 7” I confirm with a smile.
