"Sirius! Hey. Could you help me with something." I ask my best friend. He runs his hand through his hair and nods.

"Okay so. I like this guy a lot, and we're kind of friends but not to the point where we talk outside of class. I really want to ask him to Hogsmeade but don't know how.." I explain. He kind of looks at me funny.

"This wouldn't happen to be about Mason would it?" He chuckles and puts his hands on my shoulders. "Just ask him out. It's not that big of a deal."

I nod, determined to not make a fool of my self in front of Mason. I walk into class and sit down next to the brown haired boy.

"Hey so I was wondering if you wanted to go to Hogsmeade this weekend?" I ask nervously. I start fidgeting, awaiting his answer.

"Oh i'm sorry. I uh. I don't like you that way." He says turning around to talk to one of his friends. They begin laughing and his friend glances over at me. I can feel my heart break into a million pieces. This is not the way he's been acting for the past few months. I didn't think he would ever make fun of someone. Apparently I didn't know him as well as I thought.

End of class

"Sirius it was horrible! He immediately turned around to tell his friend and then they kept looking at me and laughing and I knew I shouldn't have done it. Who could ever like me..." I say the last part quietly. I'm nearly in tears right now and don't know what's going on.

He looks at me and storms out. I burst out crying. My best friend just left me and at the moment I can't think of why he would.

Sirius walks back in looking slightly disheveled. His shaggy black hair is a mess and he has a scratch below his left eye.

"What happened to you?! Are you okay?" I jump out of the chair I've been anxiously waiting in. I meet him at the fireplace and look at him.

"Well I couldn't just let Johnson get away with laughing at you could I? And besides. If he didn't realize how special you are, why wouldn't I go and, uh, speak with him?" He says sitting down on the couch, splaying out.

I roll my eyes but thank him. I sit down inbetween his legs on the couch and lay on him. As I fall asleep I hear him whisper "You're worthy of better than him. I hope one day you realize this."
