Chapter 68
Katniss Pov.
School is over now, it's summer time! I'm still grounded. I've snuck out three more times and I haven't stopped. I won't stop, I refuse to stop. I climb out my window. I run to Cato's house that's a couple blocks down. He opens the door and he grabs his keys. We drive to the beach to meet Finnick and Annie. We get there and sit next to them.
"Hey guys," Cato says.
"Hey," they both say in sync. They look at each other and smile.
"Thanks for inviting us." I thank them.
"Anytime." Finnick says. "Ready to surf Annie?"
"Yup!" she says.
"Do you know how to surf Cato?" I ask.
"No, I'm more athletic in snow then water." he says embarrassed.
"Don't worry," I say. "I'll teach you."
We drag my board in the water. I stand up with him after paddling out there. He starts to fall so I grab him, keeping him upright.
"Thanks," he says. "Whoa, are we surfing?"
"Yup, you're doing great." I tell him.
"Only because you're helping me."
Soon enough Finnick and Annie are surfing together too. This was the best way to kick off summer.
