Chapter Twenty

 

I glanced around the deserted public library I was in, my hands hovering above the black dusty keyboard. I sighed, opening up a new internet browser and typed in the web address for AIM. I promised Louis in the note that I would be on AIM at 9:30pm. I glanced at the clock on the wall hanging directly in front of me.

Seeing as it was almost 9:30pm, there were only a few adults browsing the shelves around me. Cheryl had walked to the library with me about half an hour ago, claiming Henry should have some educational DVDs to listen too even though he was only three months. I made some excuse about catching the before closing special at the cafe before she promised to meet me at the doors at ten o'clock - closing time.

I signed in quickly, my fingers dancing across the keyboard as if I had just logged in yesterday. I couldn't believe it had almost been a year since I was on my account. Glancing at the online list, sure enough Louis was available.

JustaDancerx: I'm so sorry..

 

I watched as the little pencil icon indicated that Louis was typing. My heart was beating frantically and suddenly his old Halls Cross High hoodie that I was wearing seemed to suffocate me. I ran a hand over the top of my head, my hair currently styled into a messy bun.

Singing4life24: I can't believe you're apologizing...I'm so glad you're alive.

JustaDancerx: I'm glad too. Did you get my note?

Singing4life24: I did

JustaDancerx: What did you think?

Singing4life24: I think it's a load of bullshit you want us to see other people. I gave you that promise ring Vic. That means something big to me.

JustaDancerx: I know Louis.. But this situation is too much for both of us to handle.

Singing4life24: Why can't you tell me about the "situation"?

JustaDancerx: I don't want you ending up dead.

Singing4life24: Vic...

JustaDancerx: It's not THAT serious. It's more of a precaution. But who knows, it may end in death if I got you involved.

Singing4life24: You have to give me something after tell me that.

JustaDancerx: I'm under an oath Louis. I can't.

Singing4life24: I understand...But are you serious about us breaking up?

JustaDancerx: I am.

Singing4life24: Bullshit

JustaDancerx: It's not

Singing4life24: I swear to God Vic I will find you
