Chapter 13

Recap:

 His expression immediately softened, and he nodded reluctantly I couldn't help but stop the smile that was spreading on my face. Aaron smiled back at me and stroked my cheek planting a soft kiss on it. I blushed as he grinned and grabbed a few pills the doctor had for me to take the pain away. I swallowed them quickly and thought to myself, how had I let this happen? Why was I such a coward?

I settled back into the pillows as tears welled up in my eyes again. I silently promised myself that I would stand up for myself next time. Not for me, but for my new family. I already knew what my father said was wrong. Even though I was in pain, I was happy because I found love right here in this hospital room. I was happy and that was all that mattered to me at this moment.

 Chapter 13

I woke up startled by the commotion going on outside. 

"Your security! You’re supposed to be securing the place not FLIRTING with the nurses!

"Sorry boss but did you see her, damn she was one hot mama."

I couldn't help but let out a little laugh when I heard Aaron groan at the security guard he had placed outside my door much to my dislike. The door immediately opened revealing a very annoyed looking Aaron who stalked in with a happy looking gleam in his eyes. 

"Three more days and you'll be out here!" He announced happily to me. 

"I know I can't wait to go to school," I replied sarcastically to him. 

He laughed at my obvious discomfort of the situation I was in. He got into the hospital bed and wrapped his arms around my waist and held me close in his arms making all my fears wash away. My arms immediately went around his neck and pulled his body impossibly closer to mine. 

"It's not really that bad," He muttered kissing my neck.

I looked at him ridiculously how could it not be bad? He must have finally caught on to the fact that I was new to his school so it would be awkward for me. 

"Don't worry the people are very nice, they don't bite,” He smiled at me with humor written on his face. 

"Ha-ha you’re so funny Aaron." 

"I know I should be a stand-up comedian don't you think?" 

"Why not just stick to being an overly cocky Future Alpha, now that you seem to be good at." 

"Ha-ha you’re so funny Avery.” 

I grinned at him knowing he had just repeated what I said only a few mere moments ago. Things were looking really good between me and Aaron lately and I liked it that way. I knew he would stay with me when I needed him the most and I would always be there for him when he needed me. 

The only thing between me and my happy ending was my father and I knew something had to be done with him. I couldn't kill him because he was the only family member I had but there was no way I could change him to be a father I could love. 

"What are you thinking about love?"

I flinched at Aaron's voice momentarily forgetting he was here with me. His hands tightened their grip on my waist making stay in place. 

"Oh sorry I just spaced out for a minute."

He frowned at me obviously not buying my lie but he let it go. The door suddenly opened revealing a very frazzled looking Arabella.

"Avery! You’re going to school in three days and you still don't have any clothes!" 

"I know Ari chill can't I just borrow your clothes until the weekend and then we can go shopping?" 

"Oh right...I forgot you were my size." 

Aaron just laughed at his sister's moment of forgetfulness to which Arabella shot him a glare making him stop immediately. I couldn't help but let out a chuckle at that and that chuckle turned into full blown laughter which ended up causing all of to laugh out loud for no reason. 

"Why-y a-are we l-laughing?" Arabella gasped out wiping the tears out of her eyes. 

"I don't probably just letting the tension out of our system," Aaron said after gathering his breath.

"True true now both of you get out I want to sleep!" I yelled at them with a goofy grin on my face. 

They both turned to me and pouted at the same time; it was so creepy that it had to be a telepathic twin thing I concluded in my mind. Seeing that I was not going to give in they sighed and waked out of the door mumbling nonsense under their breaths. 

I settled back into my pillows and comfortably lay down only to be interrupted by someone else. Someone who I did not welcome with a warm smile and open arms. Someone who I thought was long gone and never to be seen again. It was the person who had indirectly ruined my life.
