Chapter 34

GERALD's POV

How could he have been such a dumbass and a careless fool not to realize that he actually never told her the most important thing that she needed to hear from him?... he hissed, cursing himself for the nth time... He is suddenly swept up in a wave of despair. Eaten up with guilt and shame, he felt completely unworthy and undeserving of her love....

He was so lost in his thoughts, that it took him a moment to realise that he had been driving the wrong way... He heaved a long sigh and decided to pull over for awhile... He then adjusted the volume of his car's stereo system into a comfortable listening mode before leaning back into the driver's seat to close his eyes briefly, giving himself a moment to clear his head and relax a little bit.......

The last line of the song caused his eyes to snap open involuntarily... The familiar words, jolting his memory, eliciting a distinct sense of deja vu... He paused for a moment, frowning slighty in concentration, as he tried to recall the lyrics of the song.... Moments later, a smile slowly began to tug at the corner of his lips, merging into a broad grin... A feeling of warmth and excitement mixed with adrenaline coursing through him... Alam na niya kung ano ang dapat niyang gawin... Iniisip palang niya kung ano yun, ay parang sasabog na ang puso niya sa kaba.... You are definitely right bro, he murmured to himself, as Marco's exact words echoed through his head...." Don't be a fool bro and end up wondering about what might have been"...

SARAH's POV

DINA: Hi hija! Friday ang dating namin diyan ha? 6 pm ng gabi.

SARAH: Hi ma! Sige po, will inform tita about it. Para maipa-handa na ang guest room. I forgot to mention na wala sila tita for 2 weeks. Pero mga 5 days bago daw po kayo bumalik sa Pinas, andito na daw sila. So, magkikita padin kayo.

DINA: It's okay anak. Nagkausap na kami ng Tita mo. Nalulungkot nga at sandali lang kami magkakasama. Pero matagal na din kasi nila na plan ng tito mo yang trip na yun, kaya sabi ko ituloy nalang nila.

SARAH: Oo nga daw po eh. Anyway, may class po ako sa Friday till 3:30...try ko pong umalis ng maaga para masundo ko kayo.

DINA: Class?

SARAH: Naiinip kase ako ma. Kaya hanggang hindi pako decided, naisip ko po munang kumuha ng short courses dito.

DINA: Kung ganun hija, wag kana sumama sa pagsundo samin. Ipagbilin mo nalang na sunduin kami sa Airport ng 6pm. Don't worry about us, kaya na namin ng dad mo. Para hindi kana din nagmamadali.

SARAH: No ma, gusto ko ako po ang susundo sainyo ni dad... pilit niya.

DINA: No need na hija! Pag-uwi mo halos parating nadin naman kami diyan. Maganda yung makapagpahinga ka muna para pagdating namin naka-charge kana ulit... biro niya sa anak.

SARAH: Are you sure ma?

DINA: 100% sure hija. Wag mo na kami alalahanin at hintayin mo nalang kami diyan.

SARAH: Okay po. Ipaghahanda ko nalang po kayo ng dinner. I'm sure pagdating niyo ni dad, gutom na kayo nun.

DINA: Oh by the way anak, your Ninang and Tito Eddie will be joining us too! Sasama sila sa amin. Kaya, kami ang matutulog sa master's sabi ng Tita mo at sila sa guest room.
