Chapter 10
“Sapi? What is wrong? Why are you limping?” Will asked as he found me, climbing the steps to the door.
“Training session. The boy got a lucky shot,” I winced as I stepped up once more. “Why you care?”
“I’m sorry about this morning, Sapi,” he told as he tried to wrap his arm under my shoulders to support me.
“Get off me! Where were you? I needed you!” I cried as I pushed away but stumbled, landing on my butt on the cold stairs.
“Captain called. I’m so sorry, Sapi. I really tried to be there…” he began as he reached for my wrist, but he stopped and stared at it. “Where did you get that?”
“I have had it since this morning…” I glanced around quickly before I continued, “Don’t you remember rushing in at the sound of my happy scream?” I got up and brushed the dust from my pants.
“Oh yea, I must have forgotten,” he said, trying to sound like he knew what he was talking about; but he sent me a confused look. “My princess, may I help you inside to your sister?”
“Yes please,” I replied as I allowed his arm to wrap around and support me. “She should be in her rooms.”
