Chapter 26 – unedited (Written 20/7/2013)

*2 Years Later, Sunday 17th June*

"Mama! Mama!" Caleb cries happily, using his chubby little feet to run towards Ara who had just came in from her afternoon classes. Ara smiles brightly at him, her tired blue eyes still showing that usual spark.

"Hey baby! How was your day with your daddy?" She asks, picking him up and tickling his stomach. He giggles, softly tapping her hand away. After two years of building a friendship with each other, it's safe to say that Ara was now comfortable with Xander.

In fact, they now lived in a bit of a larger apartment in her building in which they both split the pay of the rent and bills. Xander had offered to buy a nice new modern penthouse or a big new house but she refused and wanted to pay things on her own and learn to become independent.

Xander had found that so very charming of her, making him love her more. He couldn't see his life without her at all, even if he hasn't confessed his undying love towards her.

"Fun!" Caleb replies his one worded answer. He's learnt a few words over the couple of years, his first surprisingly being "dada."

Now he was developing short two-to-three-worded sentences, but can't pronounce his "r's" properly.

Xander comes into view, an amused smile on his face as he leans against L-shaped grey fabric sofa, the TV still blaring with Barney and Friends.

"Oh I bet it was! But now it's enough of TV. How about you play with your crayons?" She replies enthusiastically, setting him to the ground and laughing as she watches him wobble over to the floor where he claims his space.

Xander joins in with Ara's laughing, particularly to their little 2-year-old purple-eyed son. Caleb looked so cute, slowly sliding himself down until he was on his stomach then started using his set of crayons to draw his family.

"How were your classes? I heard Ms Pummer had broken up with her boyfriend once again." He asks shortly after a small laugh, referring to how Ms Pummer would usually look and treat students like crap, mostly because when she feels down she believes that everyone in the world should too.

Ara smiles, faking an annoyed groan. "She could barely teach the lesson and instead made the TA just hand out a few worksheets." She replies in a slightly annoyed tone. Throughout the class, she could barely concentrate on focusing on her worksheet since her supposedly 'lecturer' was too busy crying out her poor heart.

Xander grins a cheeky flirty grin. "I know that feeling. But we should get used to it, no matter how much they want to fire her for always going off topic, she's actually the best they can get." He stated cheesily watching Ara rolls her eyes.

She folds her arms across her chest as she removes her shoes. "I know. So, it's my turn to make dinner and right now I'm in the mood for pasta!" She exclaims happily, clapping her hands together and rushing to the kitchen. Xander stands there, smiling at his cute little mate starting to prepare for dinner.

They've lived together for about roughly one year and nine months, each sleeping in separate bedrooms. It's funny to realise sometimes, but Ara is now living with her baby daddy and soulmate. Something she never thought she'd have.

In just the short two years, he managed to gain her trust and make her more comfortable around her. They weren't going to start a relationship at all – Ara sort of wanted to focus on her career.

Xander turns to go follow and help his mate cook pasta when a cute little familiar voice calls out to him.

"Daddy!" Caleb's small hoarse voice exclaims, holding his messy crayon picture of what looked liked all him, Xander and Ara holding hands as a family, Caleb in the middle holding his parent's hands.
