Hung Up

"I'm sorry" Reid said breaking the silence between the two of them as he sat the wheel.

"For what"

"I should have done more to keep you safe"

"It's not your fault"

"What if it is"

"Spence"

"JJ, I don't want you to get hurt"

"As long as I'm with you I won't"

"JJ"

"Spence stop you say everything is your fault, its not you and Henry are the only people I honestly need and don't think otherwise"

"Are you sure"

"Yes"

"Ok"

"Where are we going?" JJ asked realising that Reid wasn't heading in the direction to her apartment "my place Henry's staying with Jack" Reid said, he had insisted that he drove because he would feel comfortable is she was at his place.

"Spencer you didn't have to" JJ said looking out at the dark sky "I know, I wanted to" he said simply before his eyes turned back to the road.

Spencer lowered the windows and JJ stuck her head out, feeling the cool breeze whip through her hair and for a moment she forget about the events that had just happened she was currently happy and turning her head back she saw Reid looking at her with a little smile at the corners of his lips his eyes bright as he looked at her.

"Can we just forget about everything, just for a night please" JJ said and he nodded the wind blowing through his slightly curly hair.

"Hey look it's a lake" JJ said grinning, "stop the car" she shouted excitedly her and her sister had always gone swimming in the lake behind there house, but then we'll she committed suicide so JJ never really went again.

Reid pulled the car to a stop and JJ lowered herself out of the car and Reid did the same, she grabbed his arm and walked alongside him
As they walked over to the small lake lit up by the white moon illuminating them.

Reid started to slow down as they neared the waters edge but JJ sped up
And dove in, the cool water splashing over her body.

She rose to the surface to see Spencer looking at with a reserved expression, "you coming" she said feeling her blonde hair cling to her face, he shook his head and she let out a little chuckle he had always been the reserved type.

"The waters great" she tried again feeling the baggy jumper start to get heavier, "what's the matter" she asked again noticing that a blush was creeping up his face.

"Spence?"

"I can't swim"

She looked at him her blue eyes widening but she didn't dare make fun of him "you can stand I promise, I won't let anything happen to you" she spoke softly and he nodded and slowly walked towards her his feet landing in the water.

"Cmon" she said and he shut his eyes before he jumped his body landing in the cool water he jumped up in reaction to the freezing waters "c-cold" he stuttered and JJ wrapped her arms around him.

"Don't be a baby" she said leaning in and placing her lips on his, her lips instantly felt warm as soon as they made contact with his and she wrapped her arms around his neck.

She didn't know how long they must have been there alone in the lake lips pressed on lips but when JJ felt water droplets landing on her head she broke away from the kiss "rain" she shouted and they both took off running towards the car.
