Buggy | Rainy Days

Buggy didn't really like rainy days. They were always so gloomy and there wasn't much to do. Usually everybody stayed inside and played cards or exchanged tricks. Today was worse than other days. It was storming, which meant that he was stuck on this island waiting for the storm to die down.

Being stuck inside means that Buggy had time to think, and he did. He thought a lot. About the past, about his plans for the future, and you. He thought about you a lot. In fact, he was thinking about you when you knocked on his door during the late afternoon.

"Buggy, can I come in?"

"Of course, you're always allowed to see me."

You poke your head through the open door and see Buggy sitting on his bed looking up at you. "Hi." You say with a smile.

Buggy smiles in return but when he notices you're completely soaked his smile drops. "What happened, why did you go out during the storm?" He says getting up to usher you inside.

"Lost a bet against Mohji and had to take Richie out for a walk. No big deal." You reply.

"You won't look flashy standing next to me if you're sick, and I won't tolerate having non-flashy people on my powerful crew." You sigh as Buggy fusses over you. Normally you would brush him off and assure him that you would be fine, but it was raining and you didn't want Buggy thinking too much about the past. It made him quiet and he would never tell you anything about his time with the Roger pirates. So the best thing you could do was be there with him during the rainy days and distract him.

You watch him as he continues to lecture you while his arms fly off to grab a towel and a change of clothes. He puts the towel over your head, shoves the clothes into your hands and pushes you into the bathroom. "Dry yourself off and get changed."

You dry yourself off the best you can and quickly change into the clothes that Buggy had picked out for you. You're about to leave when you spot his coat hung up on a hook.

You leave the bathroom to find Buggy standing by his desk hunched over looking at treasure maps. "Do I look flashy now?"

Buggy turns his head and laughs when he sees you. "You look extremely flashy, almost as flashy as me." He says walking over to you with a smile. He grabs his hat off the end of the desk and puts it on your head. "There now you're as super flashy as me."

"Yay." You say with a smile. "Now I'm the captain of the Buggy Pirates."

"Is that so?" He asks.

"Yep. I got the coat and the hat, everything checks out." You reply.

He detaches his hand and takes the hat off of your head waving it high in the air out of your reach. After a few minutes of attempting to get his hat back you switch objectives and push Buggy onto the bed. He's surprised but quickly calms down when you lay down next to him and bury your face in his chest. He lets out a small laugh and adjusts so one hand is around your waist and the other is tangled in your hair. You look up at him and smile and he of course returns it. You stay next to him as his mind wanders.

Buggy knows you dislike rainy days almost as much as him although he doesn't know exactly why. That's why every time it rained he would always make sure you were close to him. Your presence helped him and he could tell that him being around helped you as well.

You and Buggy lay next to each other not really saying much. Buggy continues to comb his fingers through your hair while occasionally pressing light kisses to your forehead. You smile against him and hum the tune to songs that have been stuck in your head. Neither of you keep track of the time and eventually you drift off to sleep and Buggy soon follows.

By the time dinner rolls around the rain has stopped. Cabaji opens the door to Buggy's room and upon seeing both of you asleep in eachother's arms he gently closes the door and alerts the rest of the crew that you wouldn't be joining them for dinner all while you remained asleep in the arms of your lover.
