Preference: You change something physical

Dan:

The moment you walk into the apartment Dan's jaw drops. Although you had been feeling pretty confident, it drops a bit at his expression. "You don't like it?" you say, running your fingers through your new bright red ombre. He gets up and smooths his hands over your hair before leaning forward and pecking your forehead. "I love it, you look fantastic. It's very... you. And punk rock," he says while you smile in relief. 

Phil:

You're nervous when you return home from the tattoo parlor. You told Phil you were going to get something small tattooed onto your wrist. "Hey," he says brightly when you enter the room, "Let's see then!" He looks expectantly at your arm until you roll up your shirt to show him your ribcage, where a large feather spreads across one rib. Things didn't go as planned. "Whoa. That's so cool, did it hurt?" he gushed happily, reaching out to gently touch the ink.
