Albus arrived at McGonagall's office in less than three minutes, his heart racing, and he panted. He took a few deep breaths to catch his breath and knocked on the door.

"Come in." said the voice of McGonagall. Albus opened the door and saw Quinn on the well-known 'chair in McGonagall's office for when you did something wrong or something bad happened.' She looked miserable, though Albus still found she was pretty. Like, in a friendly way. Not in like a 'you are pretty we should date' way.

"Hi Al." she croaked, and Albus wrapped his arms around her.

"Hey. How are you?" Albus asked, and Quinn shrugged.

"Alive." she said, and tears swelled in her eyes. "I'm alive. And my parents are dead. I'm an orphan. And the last time I spoke with them I yelled at them. Because they were threatening to take me from here if I didn't work hard enough." she said, the tears rolling from her cheeks. Albus moved his finger over her cheek to wipe one away.

"Quinn. They might not be alive in this world anymore. But they never really leave. They are still with us. In here." He said, pointing to Quinn's heart. She placed her hand around his, and smiled weakly.

"Did your father tell you that?" she asked, and Albus nodded.

"Yes. When our cat Brian died." he said, and she laughed. "I knew I could make you laugh. Professor, where will she be going now?" he said to McGonagall.

She sighed. "Well, we could find a foster family, or she could go to an orphanage. She doesn't have a godparent, so we haven't figured it out yet."

Albus nodded. "Well, I have an idea. My dad, he said that, that he would love to take Quinn in as he knew what it felt like to be left with people who hate you." Albus said, and Quinn smiled.

"I'd love to." she croaked, and McGonagall nodded.

"Well then, if you could get your dad, we'll discuss this further." she said, and Albus nodded. He left her office and was about to make a run to the DADA classroom when he saw his dad in front of him.

"What did she say? Will she live with us?" he asked, knowing that was what Albus would have spoken about. Albus nodded, and followed his father into the famous office.

After a long talk about what would happen, Albus took Quinn's arm and pulled her with him to the courtyard.

"Albus," she said, laughing. "Where are we going?"

"We are having a Cheer-Up day. And you, are our special guest." He said, and he took out his wand. "Accio Quinn's broom and a school broom!" he yelled, and after a moment the broomstick flew their way, followed by one of the other broomsticks. "We, are going to fly to the Quidditch pitch, to spy on the Slytherin team that is practicing." Albus, said, smiling mischievously.

"Okay." said Quinn, and she swung her leg over the broom, kicked off, hovered for a moment, then flew up in the air. Albus followed her. "Gee Al, you're slow!" she yelled, and slowed a bit. Albus caught up, chuckling.

"Well, I just have the brains, not the Quidditch skills." both laughed, and they flew to the pitch. "Now you have to stay silent, as I don't want them to hear us."

"Al, we're like, 60 yards away from them, we can't hear them, nor can they hear us."

"I have a little trick for that." He said, and he used a charm so they could hear them.

After about an hour of sitting and watching the Slytherins practice, Quinn told Albus she was cold, so they returned to the castle. They were walking to Gryffindor Tower when Albus stopped.
