To not expose herself, Hyunjung even bought a fish.
It was stored in the cleaning lady's bucket, and whenever someone walked by, it would struggle and splash around. It was oddly kind of cute.

Jiyeon smiled at the sight of it and she turned around to tease her girlfriend: "Where did you 'hook' this from?"

The person in front of her turned red immediately. Hesitating for a moment, she finally said: "That small market along the road......"

Jiyeon wanted to laugh, but more than that, her heart ached and she was even a little scared.

To put on such a convincing act, this person had prepared so much, from the fake phone call to the fishing gear. She even bought a fish. If Jiyeon hadn't come to the office tonight and had opted to go straight home, then maybe she really would have been successfully fooled.

And then what?

Would Hyunjung keep using this method to make sure her feelings didn't get hurt while she disregarded her feelings?

Jiyeon felt upset and her nose prickled. Looking at her sitting in the chair, she reached out and patted her back lightly.

She moved her face closer and kissed Hyunjung's cheeks a few times.

"It's been hard on you."

And, "let's go home."

Hyunjung's eyes lit up at that and she nodded, organizing the work that she had helped Jiyeon to clear before running to fetch the bucket.

The bucket was quite heavy, but this person wasn't weak, so she didn't have too much difficulty lifting it.

She even stretched out a hand to hold onto Jiyeon tightly, discussing how best to cook the fish. After a moment, she felt the fish was so cute, eating it would be a waste, why not raise it?

She was like a kid.

Jiyeon couldn't help but laugh, nodding along to everything she said and holding tightly on to her as well. She didn't want to let go. She wanted to keep on holding on like this.

"......"

Every Monday was designated as a meeting day for Ke Rui, so Hyunjung would usually get to the office earlier than usual.

Her dressing today was more formal too, with a pale blue female suit that was both conservative and dignified. But Jiyeon realized something odd.

This person had worn a bunch of intricate accessories: a brooch, a necklace, earrings, and such. She dressed up prettily.

She couldn't help but feel curious, wondering if she had other plans today, so she asked after she finished washing up.

But she got a negative reply. That person had shaken her head and said: "I don't have any plans at all today. But you do. Didn't Xuanyi tell you on Friday that you have to go for training?"

She knew about it. Jiyeon was a little taken aback.

Even though "training" sounded impressive, it wasn't all that important. The whole thing was just for show.
