Chapter 3

Next day in KMA

All the cadets were gathered in the hall as Brigadier Sir was going to officially introduce the new faculty members to the new batch for future soldiers.
As BC reached in front of the cadets, he began,
"At ease cadets. Aaj aap sab ko yaha Sunday ki subah isliye bulaya gaya hai jisse ki aap apne faculty members se introduce ho sake. So over here, we have Captain Yaduvansh Sahni, he will be teaching you all the advanced communication technologies. Captain Pooja Ghai will be teaching you advanced cyber laws. Captain Amardeep Huda will be your faculty for Military Rules and Laws. Captain Ali Baig will teach you Advanced Military Science and History of Military Science. Captain Alekh Sharma will be looking over your drills and over-all physical activities. And lastly, Captain Naina Singh Ahluwalia will be teaching you Military Strategies and Guerilla Warfare. Cadets, in the end, mai bas ye kahunga ki aap bas apna 100% dijiye. Apko guide karne ki liye aur apko support karne ke liye apki faculty aur staff hamesha yaha present hain. Remember, you all are not here just for a job. You all are here to learn to live this life. You have not chosen just profession. You have chosen your country over yourself. And I want ki har subah jab aap uthe to aap apni is choice ko apne dimag aur apne zehen mein baitha kar rakhe. All the best cadets. Jai Hind."
With that BC left. And the assembly was dismissed. The entire lot of cadets was filled with patriotism and enthusiasm to the core.

In an unknown location

At around 2 AM, faint words were heard by Naveen. He immediately went up and went towards Rajveer's room. But he saw no one there. As he turned around to exit the room to resume his  work. He heard the words again, only to realize that it was Rajveer himself... calling someone. It was his first word in over 1 and half years. Naveen stood frozen to make sure that he wasn't dreaming. But this time he heard it, loud and clear.

"Naina..."

Back at KMA

"Naina..." Abhimanyu called her.
Naina heard him but tried to ignore him. Everyone else got extremely alert and Alekh gestured Yudi, Ali and Pooja to take Naina away from him while he and Huda stood in between.
"Aap abhi tak yahin hai?" Huda taunted him.
"Kaisa lag raha hai Sir, us position par reh kar, jo rightfully hamare Rajveer Sir deserve karte the." Alekh asked him with fore burning in his eyes.
"Hum jaante hai ki aap dono, infact aap sab humse naraz hein. Bahut-si galtiyan ki hain humne, jinhe ab sudharna mumkin nahi hai. Par hum koshish karna chahte hain. Hume ek akhiri mauka dijiye."
"Kaisa aakhiri mauka? Or koun koun si galtiyan sudharenge aap? Hamare Rajveer Sir se unki rightful position chhinne ki galti? Ya bhare court mein unke desh-prem par ungli uthane ki galti? Ya fir itne sab logo ke samne na sirf unke par mere bhi character par ungli uthane ki galti? Oh, kahin aap hume detention centre bhejne wali galti ki baat to nahin kar rahe hein?" Naina was livid now. All the emotions that she kept bottled up for so long, finally exploded now.
"Naina hum jante hein ki humse galti hui hai par..."
"Par kya? Or ise aap galti kehte hein? Galtiyan anjane mein hoti hai Major Abhimanyu. Or galti ek baar ki jaati. Baar baar karne wali harkatein galti nahin kehlati. Are thik hai, jealousy agar thi bhi to is had tak? Ki apne dost ko hi beech katghade mein khada kar diya? Jo insan apse lade, agar aap palat kar us par waar karo to samjh aata hai, par Rajveer Sir? Wo apki har galti ko maaf karte chale gaye, apki har harkat ko ignore karte chale gaye, uske baad bhi. Apse koi jhuth bolne ko nahin kaha tha humne... apse bas itna kaha tha ki aap sach bol de. Par aap....." Naina stopped speaking and just shook her head.
"Galti apse nahin mujhse hui thi Major. Jo maine galat insan par bharosa kar liya. Agar mujhe us waqt pata hota ki madad lene ki itni badi keemat aap mujhse le lenge to main kabhi apse madad nahin mangti. Kyun? Kyun aap sab ki zid, gussa, jealousy, laalach or revenge plans mein main hi sab kuchh khoti hu? Ye saari to aap ki problems thi na... to hamari zindagi ki keemat Kyun lagayi? Kyun apki galtiyo ki wajah se humne suffer kiya?" Naina asked while sobbing. Abhimanyu just stood there, his head handing low, deep in guilt.
"There is saying. The biggest difference between like and love is when you like a flower, you pluck it but when you love a flower, you water it. I tried to pluck the flowers without thinking about their pain and feelings. While someone else, nurtured those flowers, supported them and made them bloom. That someone was Rajveer. Afsos, ye baat bahut late samjh aayi hume. Tab jab humne apne dosto ko kho diya. Hum bas itna hi kehna chahte the ki hum aap sab ke Rajveer Sir ki tarah nahin ban sakte. Kabhi nahin. Par itna wada zarur karte hein ki aap sab ko jab bhi kisi bhi madad ki zarurat ho, jab kabhi aap musibat mein ho to hum hamesha aap sab ki madad ke liye taiyar. Jante hein bharosa nahin karenge aap sab. Isliye is baar, hum bharosa chhinenge nahi... bharosa jeetenge." Saying this Abhimanyu left for his cabin. While on the other hand, super 6 was standing shocked after hearing Abhimanyu's apology.
"Mujhe to abhi ye wrong number lag raha hai. Ye dobara call kare isse pehle isliye block par daal do."
"Pata nahi kyun Pooja ji... par aaj Abhimanyu Sir ki aankhon mein shayad pehli baar sachchai dikhi hai. Thodi hi sahi. Par thi zarur."
"I think I'm going to agree with Ali here. This was the first time he accepted all his mistakes without argument. That's weird."
"Abe mujhe kya, iski baaton par to meri bhainso ko bhi bharosa na ho. Aaya bada, hume ghumayega."
"Khali-fokat dimag mat kharcha karo tum sab. Is jaise ke peechhe apun to apna Sunday waste nahi karne wala hai."
"Unhone kaha ki he'll try to earn our trust right? Then let's see. Isi baat par ab unhe apni loyalty to sabit karne hi padegi." Naina said, shocking the rest of them.
"Oye phoolan, ye kya bol rahi hai tu? Dimag thikane par hai? Us par bharosa kar rahi hai?"
"Kiya nahi hai Huda. Mai bhi to dekhu, kitni galtiya sudharne ki himmat hai Major Abhimanyu mein. Bolne aur karne mein bahut farq hota hai. And don't forget, Rajveer Sir ne hi sikhaya hai, insan ki galti adhi tabhi sudhar jaati hai jab wo apni galti ko accept kar leta hai. Jo aaj pehli baar Abhimanyu Sir ne accept ki hain. We'll stay alert of his moves all time though."
Everyone just nodded their heads after listening to her.
