In school, things were running smoothly and time was passing by too. In French-English class, the teacher was teaching about Haiku in class.
Mr. Walberg: Okay, so today we will learn the art of Haiku. *He wrote down Haiku on the board. * Now, who knows what Haiku is? *A girl named Debbie raises her hand. * Yes, Debbie?
Debbie: Haiku is a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five, traditionally evoking images of the natural world.
Mr. Walberg: Yes. Haiku is a Japanese type of poetry that only has what? *Mylene raises her hand. * Mylene?
Mylene: It has three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third.
Mr. Walberg: Good answer. *He wrote it down on the board put the chalk down and looked at the class. * Plus, Haiku doesn't have to rhyme.
Neil: That's a bonus.
