Chapter 21: Maddie gets a duet

The next day, which was a rainy day and around 12:00 PM, Andrew had arrived at the studio, he parked into his space that's next to his mother's space, then he got out of the car with his umbrella and walked to the entrance of the studio and he walked in and saw that Abby was on the laptop while Gianna was.

"Hi, mom, Hi Gia. What's up?" Andrew greeted his mother as he was walking in.

Abby looked up and smiled as she saw her son entering while Gianna had a huge grin on her face as she saw her boyfriend putting down his umbrella and he walked over to them.

"Hello, sweetie." Abby said to her son as she gave him a hug.

"Hello, my hunk." Gianna said to Andrew, who blushed.

"How are you guys doing today even though it is raining?" Andrew asked them.

"We're doing fine, just ready to start yet another week of rehearsals." Abby stated, then she saw Andrew walk over to Gianna and the two shared kisses as she rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but crack a smile at the two lovebirds, then he took a seat.

"Which competition are we going to be headed to this upcoming weekend?" Andrew asked.

"Well, Andrew. We are going to go to Starbound, which is in Atlanta, Georgia and i have a feeling that you know who is gonna show her face there." Gianna replied to her boyfriend, who's smile was replaced with an exasperated look on his face after hearing that Cathy and her Candy Apples were gonna be there.

"Oh, boy." Andrew sighed.

"Tell me about it." Abby responded. "Let's talk about that song you played for us yesterday, how did you come up with a great rap?"

"Well, i just wrote it from my heart back in november and one day i recorded it."

"Well, i think we should play it for the girls at one point and see how they like it." Gianna suggested

"Sounds like a good idea, Gia." Andrew agreed with his girlfriend and then he came up with an idea as he turned his attention to his mom. "Remember you suggested that i perform my new song at the ALDC concert?"

"Yes, i remember." Abby replied.

"I want to perform my rap at the ALDC concert."

"All right!" Abby exclaimed as she and her son gave each other a high five as Gianna smiled and then after the girls from both the original ALDC team and the select ensemble arrived, it was time to get started.

"Come on, girls! Let's Go, Move It, Move It!" Andrew yelled as Maddie, Mackenzie, Nia, Brooke, Paige, Chloe, Asia and Kalani came in with Melissa, Holly, Kelly, Christi, Kristie and Kira and they were happy about beating the select ensemble. Then coming in was Ava, Kamryn, Tea', Sarah H, Sarah R, Autie, Elisabeth, Mia and Elisabeth and with them were Jeanette, Jodi, Tami, Loree, Erin, Krista, Leonora and Tracey and in comparison to the ALDC originals, they were not happy.

"Mom, i can tell one team is happy and the other one is not."

"Yep, because one team won and the other lost." Abby agreed as she then turned to the teams. "We had a great competition and while we were there, the originals beat the select ensemble and that means for now, the Original Elite Junior Team have proven to me and my son that, you're the A-Team and i think you guys should go up against each other again."

"Abby, why should our girls go up against the new team again? i thought--" Christi was about to finish until Abby interrupted her.

"We said, for now. You never know, it might change."

"Yep, since we have two ALDC teams, they'll go against each other at times." Andrew stated, then he clapped his hands twice. "All righty, let's get to the pyramid."

Pyramid placings:

Top: Maddie
Middle: Kalani, Paige, Chloe
Bottom: Brooke, Nia, Asia, Mackenzie

Melissa couldn't help but smile at seeing her older daughter on the top of the pyramid for the first time in a long time.

"This weekend, we will be attending Starbound in Atlanta, Georgia." Abby said as she looked over to Andrew, who turned to the moms with an expression, knowing that a certain somebody was gonna be there and the moms laughed. "Do you guys know what Georgia has meant since December?"

"Cathy." Paige said as she cringed.

"You are correct, Paige." Abby said.

"Ok, for group assigments, we have a two group numbers and three solos. For the first solo, it's gonna be a lyrical piece and it will go to Ava, since her mother think she's better, the second solo, which will be contemporary piece will go to Paige and the third solo, which is gonna be a hip hop routine will go to Kalani. Also, we're gonna have a duet that's entitled Kiss on my list. Maddie you are going to be the lead female for the duet."

"Who's the mystery boy gonna be the lead male for the dance?" Melissa asked.

"Maddie's partner is going to be none other, than Zack Torres." Andrew said as Maddie's face turned red. "Yep, Zack who used to be on the Candy Apples team until he left and now he's here in Miami."

"When is he gonna be here?" Nia asked them.

"He's gonna be here right about....now."

As soon as Abby said that, Zack Torres walked into Studio A with his mother, Gina as Maddie had an expression on her face that says "Why Me?" as the other girls and the moms were snickering, sensing that Maddie had a crush on him.

"Hey, Zack." Andrew greeted as he gave him a high five.

"How are you doing, Andrew?" Zack replied, high fiving him back.

"I'm doing good." Andrew added, then Gina walked up to him and gave him a hug and a kiss on his cheek as his face turned red as Gianna couldn't help but chuckle.

"I'm surprised you're taking it well that the moms like to kiss him on his cheeks and face sometimes." Jodi said to the assistant choreographer

"Andrew's a ladies man, he's been the ladies man even before we started dating." Gianna replied.

"Oh."

"All right, spread out and we're gonna start with the select ensemble rehearsals which i'll teach and for the originals, Andrew will teach." Abby stated as Melissa, Christi, Kristie, Kelly, Kira, Gina and Holly all went to the dancer's den while Jeanette, Jodi, Tami, Loree, Erin, Krista, Leonora and Tracey headed upstairs to the viewing room.
