Nabarupa's brother was new in his department, so he had to give extra time to adjust there. So, for the whole week he could not meet us. On the afternoon of next Monday Nabarupa said that his brother wanted to meet us. We went to the main canteen of the university to meet him, as he only knew that canteen. Amit and I went to buy snacks and cold drinks, while others waited for him. When we were going back to our table with snacks, I saw that a tall boy was sitting in front of Mallika. Mallika was grinning ear to ear, but I could not see the face of that boy.

MALLIKA WILL NEVER CHANGE. BUT WHO IS THE BOY? IS HE NABARUPA'S BROTHER? LET'S SEE.

"What are you doing here?" that boy, I mean Nabarun asked me.

"I should ask you the same question?" I said.

"I came to meet my sister." Nabarun said, "meet my twin sister Nabarupa. Nabarupa, this is Nishith, my roommate."

HOW CAN NABARUN BE NABARUPA'S BROTHER? SHE TOLD US THAT THEY ARE TWINS. BUT THEY LOOKS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! I MEAN, THEIR FEATURES AREN'T SIMILAR AT ALL!  HOW COULD I KNOW THAT HE IS MY BEST FRIEND'S TWIN BROTHER? YES! THERE NAMES ARE SIMILAR, WHICH I FAILED TO NOTICE.

Before I could understand what to say, Nabarupa said, "brother, did he rag you? If he treats you bad, just tell me."

"Why should he treat me bad? He is my roommate, my friend," said Nabarun.

Nabarupa, Mallika, Amit and Debesh laughed loudly and I felt ashamed.

Nabarun asked doubtfully, "what happened? Did I say anything wrong?"

"Thank you Nabarun," I said as I took the seat beside him.

Nabarupa said, "brother you already know Nishith and he is Amit".

"You mean Nishith is your friend!" Nabarun said.

"I am sorry Nabarupa, I didn't know that he is your brother," I said pitifully. "Hope you will not hate me."

"What did you say about me?" Nabarun asked.

"He said that you disturbed his morning dream. He was going to see the face of his love but you..."

"Nabarupa, stop talking nonsense," I retorted.

Debesh said, "what nonsense? You are trying to see that person's face for at least one year. You don't even want to date anyone. Many girls of our department like you but you only like that person whom you don't even know."

Mallika said, "even I liked you but you never looked at me. But I don't mind it anymore, I will pursue Nabarun from today."

"Just stop it Mallika, he is Nabarupa's brother," Amit retorted.

"That's why it will be more amazing! We will be sisters-in-law! Just think Nabarupa, it will be fun," said Mallika excitedly.

I did not know why I got irritated. I stood up and said, "I am going to my room. You can continue. Nabarun will you go?"

"Ohh, you are going so early?"

"You can stay if you want. Bye everybody."

I walked out of the canteen. Nabarun came running behind me.

"What happened Nishith? Have I done anything wrong?"

Why I am behaving like this? What wrong with me?

"Actually, I am not feeling well. Sorry to drag you along. Mallika is a very sweet and lively girl. You can go out with her if......" I said unconsciously.

"If??? What???"

"I am sorry. It is your personal matter; I should not comment."

Nabarun held my wrist and I stopped. Then he said, "I am here to study, not to date. But, are you dating my sister?"

"No. I never did. I never dated anyone," I replied looking straight at his eyes.

"Are you waiting for your dream girl?" He left my hand.

"Dream girl? I don't know. I don't even know if that person is a girl or a boy. I've never seen that person's face." I started to walk towards our hostel.

Nabarun walked beside me and asked, "do you love that person?"

"I don't know. I only feel attached to that person and want to see their ('his' and 'her' are same in their language) face."

"For how long are you dreaming about them?" he asked.

"For a while I guess. Initially I did not realize that this...... I don't know what. Leave it. What about you? What kind of girl do you like?"

"I never thought about it. But now I am thinking that she must be kind, educated, caring and may be a little emotional. Someone whose anger stays on her nose." He smirked looking at me.

"What good about short-tempered, emotional people? No one likes them." I felt that he was teasing me.

"I don't know. But I will share my experience with you when I will date someone like that."

I narrowed my eyes and said, "you should remember this. And you must share with me the experience of your first date, first kiss and first everything."

"You! Pervert!"

"Yes, I am."

"Ok, I will describe in detail."

A/N : Neither he and she nor his/him and her have different words in Bengali. When Bengalis talk about any third person, no one can know if that person is male, female or other until the speaker specifically mentions that.
