James Potter had experienced many, many terrifying experiences throughout his twenty two years.

However, absolutely nothing could have prepared him for the sounds of Regulus' wails and moans as James was ushered from the room; 'Too much blood', 'Get the husband out,' were among the phrases James had heard as he was shoved from the room by an apologetic nurse.

James had cursed and shouted but his friends had seated him down quickly, Remus thrusting a chocolate bar into his mouth while Sirius had ran his ring clad fingers through James' hair, murmuring words of kindness to his best friend; 'Reggie will be okay, I promise, he's going to be okay,'

But that had been an hour ago and James was beginning to become restless and paranoid. He was still vaguely aware of Regulus sobbing down the hall and he had barged into the room enough times to know that he would be removed quicker than he had gotten there.

James huffs. "Why won't they let me in?!" He hisses. "What if he's....what if my Reg is dying?" He looks to his friends with sad brown eyes.

Remus sighs, shaking his head. "He's fine, James, we can still hear Regulus, we know that he's fine,"

"But what if-"

"No. James, no," Sirius cuts him off. "Regulus will be fine. Labor isn't easy, Remus can elaborate on that if you would like him to,"

Remus rolls his eyes. "Our daughter won't be subjected to an example, you fool," He smirks at his husband.

James is about to open his mouth and reply when a sharp cry reaches his ear. This time it isn't Regulus'. Instead, it's shrill and loud and not at all pain filled and agonizing.

Before anyone can prevent him or pull him back, James skids down the hallway to the room he had been rather forcefully removed from. He opens the door. "Reg? Reggie, love-"

A nurse smiles at him, less apologetic this time. "Mister Potter," She greets. "Everything's okay, your husband is very strong,"

James smiles politely. "Mmh, that he is," He agrees. His eyes land on Regulus, who's cradling a very small bundle of yellow blnaktes. James steps towards the bed, his face crumpling to tears. "Oh, darling, I thought I'd lost you," He whispers, reaching to stroke a hand down Regulus' flushed cheek.

Regulus grins tiredly. "James..." He whispers. "This is our daughter," He introduces and James finds himself even more in love with his husband than he had ever been before. "We have a baby girl, love." He utters softly.

James gazes down at the newborn girl, her eyes large and brown and wonderful, so bloody wonderful. "Oh.....hello my sweet baby girl," He says with a tearful voice. He presses a kiss to the top of Regulus' sweaty head. "I'm sorry I couldn't be here,"

"I'm sorry you were screaming bloody murder so they had to remove you," Regulus muses.

James chuckles, sitting down into the covers with his little family. "I'm sure you did bloody brilliant, Reg." He smiles softly. He looks down at his daughter. "Have you picked a name, honey?"

Regulus blinks. "I didn't wanna pick one without you," He says shyly.

James grins. "How thoughtful of you," He teases and Regulus rolls his eyes.

"I know, that and I carried your baby,"

James can't surpress his laughter. Regulus leans into James' chest. "Do you like the name Rosalyn?" He asks softly, his voice shy. "I kind of like Rosalyn," He admits, biting his lip.

James beams, his arms wrapping around his husband as he pecks his temple. "I love it. Rosalyn Potter." He repeats. "Got a ring to it, babe,"

"You pick the middle name, eh?" Regulus suggests. "I carried her and gave her her first name. I mean it is the least you can do-"

"Oi. Shove off you little wanker," James smirks. He thinks for a moment, for a very, very long moment. "Rosalyn Daisy Potter," He whispers.

Regulus smiles. "Rosalyn Daisy Potter,"

"Welcome to the world, Rosalyn Daisy Potter,"
