AMBER P.O.V. -

"O which basket should we get Hun?"

O and I were in the florist trying to pick up the perfect basket for his mom.

"I like the one with the red bear." He pointed to the top shelf to a basket adorned with chocolates and a huge red bear in the middle, with the words "I love you" across the chest.

I tried to reach it but I couldn't. The benefits of having a tall husband is that I didn't have to reach up very often. But now I had to find an alternative way.

"Come here." I told O. I picked him up and put him on my neck.

"Get the basket."

He reached for the basket, got it and I put him down.

"I'mma have to do that more often when Uncle Aug isn't around."

He chuckled looking in the basket.

"Alright let's pay for this babe."

"Auntie Amb what about Assata's gift?" He looked up at me as we headed for the register.

"You serious about this Sata thing aren't you?"

He shook his head yes.

"Which one should we get her?" We went back in the direction of the baskets.

"Uh...." He looked around. "She loves Snickers so I want something with Snickers."

We looked on the shelves trying to find one with snickers. I bent down looking on the bottom shelf and I felt a tap on my shoulder.

"What O?"

"You know me to well to know it's me without even looking." I heard a distinguished male voice say. I stood up and turned around. It was O, just not the one I thought.

"Omari."
He had a bald head now and a bushy beard, spotted with grey that covered the bottom of his face. Yet he looked as though he didn't age. He was dressed in a black suit covered by a black trench coat.

"I was starting to think you dropped off the face of the earth." He reached out to hug me, but I instead gave him a handshake.

Me and Aug aren't totally where we should be and I wasn't inviting temptation in. He always seemed to come with a bald head.

Omari chuckled and shook my hand.

"I found it." O brought me a basket with snickers, lotion, body spray, nail polish and other girly items.

"She's going to love this O."

Omari looked at me. No nigga I didn't name my son after you.

"Octavian this is Mr. Hardwick."

"Nice to meet you sir." He shook Omari's hand.

"Wow. I've never seen a kid with such manners. Your son?"

"No my nephew. Like a son though."

"Hm. I see you're married." He looked down at my ring finger.

"I see you are too." I saw the golden ring snuggled over his ring finger.

"Yeah. Well you're looking beautiful." He looked me over.
