Kaia moved to Korea to live with her K-POP idol brother at 11 from Canada to follow her own dreams of becoming an idol as well. She finally made her debut at 15 years old as a solo artist. Five years later, she has had a pretty successful career when her manager comes up to her one day telling her about an opportunity to participate on a survival type show. He says it will be a great opportunity for her to expand her audience even if she doesn't win. Initially she turns down the offer, saying she doesn't need to participate in the survival show. Her fan base is big enough and she doesn't need the show to grow it. Her music can do that. She is discussing the survival show one night with her late night escaped that she has been spending time with. He tries to convince her its worth a shot. That she doesn't have anything to lose.
