I'm currently sitting in my studio working on my new songs when my manager comes in. He pulls my headphones off.
"Kaia I have something important I need to discuss with you."
I spin away from my computer, "What's up?"
He sits on my couch, "So, I was just pitched this idea and I think it would be a great opportunity for you."
"What is it? A concert or a TV interview?"
"No, it's a survival show."
"I don't need to be on a survival show. I already have a solo career."
"I know that. But this one is for established idols versus rookie idols."
"Well, that hardly seems fair."
"It's going to be judged and fan voted."
I roll my eyes, "Still doesn't seem fair."
"Think about it you could grow your fandom more."
"I don't need a TV show to grow my fandom more. My music does it for me."
"Just think about it Kaia." He gets up to leave.
"No, I will not do it." I spin back to my computer and put my headphones on.
Why on earth would I want to compete on a show? I don't need the extra publicity. It's not like my career is tanking and I need to find the new generation. I really am appalled at the idea.
I decide to work later than I wanted trying to burn off my irritation from what my manager suggested today. My phone vibrates and dances across my desk. I look at the time.
Shit! I'm late.
I quickly save what I have been working on and toss my headphones down. I grab my backpack, shoving my laptop inside. My phone rings and I frantically try to grab it without dropping anything.
"Hello?"
"Where are you?"
"I'm on my way!"
"You're still at your studio."
"I am not."
"Kaia I can hear your zen clock going off."
I silently curse myself and shut it off.
"Okay, so I'm not on my way yet."
"You know we only have so long together. I can't be gone too long, or it becomes suspicious."
"I know. I know. I'm sorry. I will be right there."
"Hurry, I brought your favorite."
I laugh, "For someone that wanted to keep this casual you sure act like were a couple."
