The vampires are hiding out in a house that's on the bottom of the hill you and the rest of the hunters are on. This is where Samuel stops and gets out along with everyone else. You're not sure if you want to go down there with being pregnant because these vamps are vicious, and you won't hesitate to put anyone else in front of you if that means protecting your child. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. You grip the machete in your hand tightly, bouncing it between both of your hands. You'd use your magic, but it can't decapitate.

"The house is just over the hill with about a dozen vamps and the alpha. We got one shot at this son of a bitch," Samuel explains once everyone is gathered.

"Christian, take flank. The rest of you are with me and Sam. Dean, Y/N, and Gwen, hang back and sweep any stragglers we flush out," he orders. Dean just rolls his eyes and sighs silently. "Problem, Dean?"

"No, sir."

You don't have a problem since it's safer out here than inside the house, but you don't comment on it.

"I'm in the rear with the rejects?" Gwen scoffs.

"Fuck you," you bite.

"Don't worry, okay? Everything is going to be fine. Let's go," Samuel leads his group down the hill.

Sam goes to follow but stops by you and Dean to say one last thing to you.

"Don't worry, it's fine," Sam whispers.

"No, nothing's fine. You're not fine. Go. Go," Dean sighs.

Sam does as he's told and leaves you and Dean alone with Gwen.

"Sorry about the 'reject' thing," Gwen apologizes and looks at you.

"Yeah, me too," you mutter.

"We've been called worse before," Dean shrugs.

"I just, uh, get sick of getting left behind. I think it's probably because I remind him of his daughter or something."

"Well, you just speak your mind."

"I'll take that as a compliment," she chuckles.

"You should," you nod.

There's a comfortable silence between the three of you until you hear branches snapping. Someone is coming towards you, and you can tell by the nature of the tension that it's someone bad. You take out your machete from its holster and take a few steps toward the noise. Dean walks ahead of you to check it out, but nothing is there.

It's quiet... too quiet.

Just then, a vampire appears behind Gwen and tackles her to the ground. You scream in shock and back away from the fight, wrapping your arms around your stomach. Dean pulls the vampire off Gwen, but the creature has the upper hand. Dean shoves the vampire into a nearby brick wall, but the vampire just tosses Dean to the ground. He's about to attack him when Gwen appears behind the vampire and slices his head off. You jump in shock, but stay away from it all.

"Thanks for nothing," she bites at you, but you just look down in guilt.

"Thanks," Dean breathes heavily and gets up.

The moment is short-lived because you hear gunshots come from the house down the hill. Without even thinking, you and Dean grab your machetes and run towards the sound, but Gwen stays exactly where she is.

"We're supposed to wait here!" she yells after you two, but you ignore her.

The way you just dropped everything and ran at the sound of gunshots scare you. As long as you're pregnant, you have to think about the child you're carrying. You can't just run into danger since you're not alone anymore. Even after she is born, you will always have to put her life first before anyone else's... and that includes Sam and Dean. You know your limits, and as long as you don't cross them, you know you can help.

Once you get to the house, all you see are dead bodies all around the yard. Headless bodies as well as hunter bodies. People are dying and for what? An Alpha they may or may not get? The house is covered with blackout curtains and tinfoil to keep the sun out, but that doesn't stop you from seeing what's inside. With a glowing blue hand, you swipe the air going from one side of the house to the other. As you do that, the interior of the house is revealed to you, but only in terms of energies, spirits, and souls.

This is what you see: in one of the rooms downstairs (it looks like it's close to the front door) is Sam and Samuel fighting the Alpha vampire. You know it's Samuel because you can see the density of his soul. You know it's Sam because despite not seeing a soul, you know Samuel has to have some kind of help. You can't see a soul, therefore, you know it's Sam. You also know it's the Alpha vampire because his "soul" or "energy" is red, spiky, and chaotic. All the vampires look like that. The only problem with this, though, is you can't see Christian. Well, you can, but his soul is glitching as if there is something on him to prevent someone like you from looking at what he truly is.

"Looks like the hunters are winning. There are more humans in there than vampires. Samuel and Sam have the alpha vampire though," you explain to Dean.

"Come on, let's go," he mutters.

You follow his lead around the back of the house where there isn't a gate to stop you from heading in. Much like you expected, there are more headless bodies scattered all around the yard. There aren't any more gunshots going off, but you can hear shouts and screams coming from inside the house. Above all, you hear someone pounding on one of the glass doors. You look over to see one of the hunters Samuel came with.

"Dean!" she yells.

Before either of you could even think about what to do, she is snatched back and killed. Her blood sprays all across the door, and you just look away in guilt. If only you weren't pregnant, you would be heading inside the house to show these vampires just who they're dealing with.

"Sam!" Samuel says from the front of the house.

"Come on, Dean," you whisper and take the lead with this one.

You two sneak closer to the front of the house and hide behind the brown picket fence. Through the old boards of the fence, you watch as Samuel, Sam, Christian, Mark, and a few other hunters force a tall black man into the back of their van. His head is covered by a burlap sack, but you know it's the alpha vampire.

"Careful, now!" Samuel orders.

"Yeah. Got him," Sam confirms.

"What the hell," you whisper faintly.

"Get in," Samuel growls at the alpha.

He gets into the van without another problem, but it's time for you and Dean to head back to Gwen. With one look, you know he's thinking the same thing. You escape your spot as soon as possible, making your way back to Gwen as fast as possible. You arrive barely in time.

"Where were you two?" she hisses.

Not even two seconds later, Samuel and Sam come back to check up on you three.

"Everything alright here?" he asks.

You make eye contacts with Gwen and silently plead her to cover for you. Despite how you treated her before, she seems to get the message.

"Just, uh, chopped up a runner. No big deal. How'd it go?"

"Rough, but one alpha down."

"Where is it? We want to pay our last respects," Dean clears his throat.

"Well, bring marshmallows. Already on the pyre," Samuel lies straight to your face.

You look at Dean knowingly because you fucking saw him and Sam force that alpha into their van. Lies, lies, and oh wait, more lies.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Things go okay back there?" Dean asks his brother on the way back to Samuel's place.

"Fine."

"Nothing weird?" you ask from the back seat.

"No."

This is all getting too much for you and Dean to handle, and the older brother decides to put an end to this now. If Sam is going to keep lying to you, then you don't want to work with him. If he's going to keep manipulating you, then he's on his own. Dean swerves the car off the side of the road and parks before angrily getting out. You and Sam do the came, but for different reasons.

"We saw you walk that alpha out the door, Sam. Now, call me crazy, but that seems weird!" Dean accuses.

"Oh," Sam sighs.

"What the hell does that mean? 'Oh'," you glare.

"You two weren't supposed to know about that."

"Know about what, Sam?"

"It's just something Samuel's been doing. Catching things, taking them somewhere, and grilling them for info."

"Grill. Torture, right? And not telling us was his idea?"

"No, it was mine."

"Why?"

"Honestly? Because you two would mess it up. You shoot first, ask questions later, and we needed to ask questions."

"You know, I-I don't care if you've got soullessness or the fucking mumps, man–you know better than this! Do you even want your soul back?"

"How does that have anything to do–"

"Have you been to the place where Samuel takes them?" you cut him off. "I mean, have you been in on these interrogations?"

"No, but I hear–"

"And why do you think that is? Did it ever occur to you that this is all really shady? It's one of the reasons why I stopped hunting with you and Samuel in the first place!"

"He's our grandfather. He's practically yours too, Y/N."

"Yeah, a guy who talks a great game. But you can't assume that family means the same thing to him as it does to us. He's not Dad. You don't see it, do you?"

"See what?"

"You've got no instinct!" you yell. "You are seriously fucking messed up!"

"Thanks," Sam scoffs.

"She's not kidding, man. Nobody's forcing you to work with us, okay? But if we do this, I drive the bus, I call the shots, and you tell me everything, whether you think it's important or not, because–trust me–you can't tell the difference. Or, you know what, go with Samuel. See how that goes. It's up to you."

Sam holds the eye contact for a few more seconds before turning and leaving. He leaves you and Dean alone with the thought that he may never come back–or want to. You sigh and yank the back door open and get inside. Dean does the same, but he doesn't start the car.

"Why are we just sitting here?" you ask.

"I have a feeling he might come back," he replies and shifts in his seat to look at you. "So, are you doing okay?"

"What do you mean?"

"Lately, all I've noticed from you are you shying away from fighting and not using your magic as much anymore. Are you okay?"

Nerves rack your entire body, and you can't help but place the nail of your thumb into your mouth and chew on it. Dean reaches over the back seat and grips your hand to pull it away from your mouth.

"Don't bite your nails."

Is this the right time to tell him? The moonlight is shining into the car, there are no other distractions, and Dean seems really calm.

"I have something to tell you, Dean," you whimper. "I-I'm not sure h-how it happened, but it's about my stomach issues."

"Did you have Cas take a look at what's been going on?"

"Yes and no. Um, but before I tell you, please–"

"Hey," Sam interrupts and gets into the car. All you do is let out a small whimper and shrink back into your seat. Dean is now focused on Sam, so you place your nail back into your mouth and chew on it nervously. "You didn't think I'd come back."

"I figured 60/40."

"So, Samuel didn't take the bait. So, I went with plan B."

"We had a plan B?"

"I fired up the GPS on one of his cellphones. We should be able to track him right to the alpha."

"The old man won't notice?"

"Trust me. He thinks Velcro is big news," Sam scoffs. His cell phone pings, telling him that Samuel is on the move. "There. Got him."
