How can you not know who the father is of your baby? The last time you and Sam had sex was... two months ago, and you are roughly two months pregnant. You don't look pregnant, which is exactly what you want. You don't need Sam or Dean seeing you with a pregnant belly and thinking something is up. You've heard from moms that their stomach shows more with their first child than anything else, but maybe you carry differently than them. You will start showing, however, so you need to figure out a way to tell them before they find out on their own. You're already making them suspicious with the way you refuse alcohol, and how you back away from any fight that comes your way.

More importantly, what will Dean do if he finds out you're having his brother's kid? What will Sam do? After the revelation that came from Veritas, you knew you had to check on Sam through Castiel. You've been calling him and calling him, but he hasn't been answering. Whenever you mention Sam, he doesn't seem to come, so the only thing you know what to do is to find the loophole.

"Please, Castiel. We really need you. I need you. I'm pregnant," you reveal.

You hear a flutter of wings, and you know he's standing behind you.

"Really?" you say as you turn around to face the angel. "You come when I say that?"

"I'm assuming you called to get rid of it again."

"No!" you exclaim and place a hand on your stomach. "No, nothing like that. Look, I'd really appreciate it if you didn't tell Sam and Dean. I'll tell them when I figure out how to. Please promise me you won't tell them."

"I promise. I've studied human behavior for hundreds of thousands of years, and I've seen many, many births. You won't be able to hide your stomach for much longer. You're two months pregnant."

"I know that, okay? Look, I'll tell them soon."

"If you didn't call me down for that, then what did you call me down for?" he asks with a confused tilt of his head.

"Yesterday, we defeated a goddess named Veritas. She was what was convincing the people of this town to tell the truth. It wasn't Gabriel's Horn of Truth. She told me and Dean that Sam wasn't human. He lied right to her face, and she acts like he killed her cat right in front of her. Sam isn't human, Castiel. Please, he's inside because Dean beat the shit out of him, and I need you to check if he has a soul. I don't think he does. I'm sure there is a way to check that."

"Yes, it is very painful," he nods.

"Good, let's go inside," you suggest.

You both leave the alleyway next to your motel room and enter it. Sam is still tied to the chair while Dean is sipping on some beer to help him relax.

"It's about time you showed up," he scoffs.

"My apologies, Dean."

Sam chooses that exact moment to start waking up, and the angel walks over to him to inspect him. Sam groans and opens his eyes, but has to blink a bunch of times to get his vision into focus.

"You're right. He looks terrible. You did this?" he asks.

"Over and over again," you sigh and tug on your oversized shirt.

You figured that while you're thinking of ways to tell Sam and Dean about your pregnancy, you can wear big t-shirts to hide your growing belly.

"Cas? What's–" he grunts when he realized he's been tied to the chair he's sitting on. "Let me go."

"Has he been feverish?"

"Have you?" Dean asks his brother.

"No, why?"

"Is he speaking in tongues?" Castiel asks Dean before turning to Sam. "Are you speaking in tongues?"

"No. What are you... are you diagnosing me?"

"You better hope he can," you glare.

"You really think that this is–"

"What, you think that there's a clinic out there for people who just pop out of hell wrong? He asks, you answer! Then you shut your hole. You got it?" Dean shouts.

"How much do you sleep?"

"I don't."

"At all?" Dean gasps.

"Not since I got back."

"And it never occurred to you that there might be something off about that?!" you yell.

"Of course it did, guys. I-I just never told you."

"Sam, what are you feeling now?" the angel asks.

"I feel like my nose is broken," he scoffs.

"No, that's a physical sensation. How do you feel?"

"Well, I think–"

"Feel."

"I don't know."

"Castiel," you whisper and motion to Sam.

He needs to check if he has a soul so you can confirm that you're right on this one. He understands what needs to be done, so he starts to unbuckle his belt. All three of you are shocked and confused as to why he is doing this or where he's going with it, but he only takes off his belt and folds it in half.

"This will be unpleasant," he sighs and presents the folded belt to Sam's mouth. "Bite down on this. If there's someplace that you find soothing, you should go there. In your mind."

Sam doesn't register what is going on until Castiel shoves his whole fist into Sam's chest cavity. Much like Aaron Birch, Castiel is checking to see what is wrong with his soul. Red angry lines shoot up Sam's body and neck, and he screams as loud as he can. You're sure it hurts, but he deserves after all that he's done to you and Dean. Castiel doesn't need all but one minute to determine what is wrong with Sam. He pulls his fist out, and Sam drops the belt with an exhausted sigh.

"Did you find anything?" you ask.

"No."

"So that's good news?"

"I'm afraid not. Physically, he's perfectly healthy."

"Then what is it?" Dean wonders.

"It's his soul. Y/N was right. It's gone."

"I fucking knew it! But no one ever wants to listen to me!" you exclaim and lift your hands up dramatically.

"Um... I'm s–I'm sorry. One more time, like I'm five. What do you mean, he's got no–"

"Somehow, when Sam was resurrected, it was without his soul," Castiel cuts him off.

"So, where is it?" you ask.

"My guess is it's still in the cage with Michael and Lucifer."

"So, is he even still Sam?"

"Well, you pose an interesting philosophical question," he mutters and peeks at Sam who grunts and struggles.

"Don't fucking try anything," you snap at him.

"Well, then, just get it back!"

"Dean..."

"You pulled me out!"

"It took several angels to rescue you, and you weren't nearly as well guarded. Sam's soul is in Lucifer's cage. There's a difference–a big difference. It's not possible."

"There has to be a way. I mean, there is always a way," you comment.

"So, are you gonna untie me?" Sam asks, clearly bored with this.

"No," you and Dean snap.

"Listen, I'm not gonna–"

"Sam, how the hell am I even supposed to let you out of this room?"

"Dean, I'm not some psycho. I didn't want you to get hurt. I was just trying to stop the vamps," he sighs. "I'm sorry. It won't ever happen again. Please let me go."

"Do you even hear yourself? That was the most hollow apology I've ever heard!" you exclaim.

"Well, what are you gonna do, just keep me locked up in here forever?"

"You say that like it's a bad thing," Dean scoffs.

"Okay, fine, look, I get it. I get it, Dean. I was wrong, but I'm telling you I'm trying to get right. It's still me," he stutters as he tries to convince.

"Is it?"

"Yes. So, just let me go."

"No way in hell," you shake your head.

"I didn't want it to come to this. You're not gonna hold me," Sam shrugs out of his binds, and your mouth drops open slightly. He stands up and tosses the rope to the side of the room. "Not here, not in a panic room, and not anywhere. You two are stuck with the soulless guy, so you might as well work with me."

"I'm gonna be watching every move you make," Dean threatens.

"Fine. Sounds about right to me."

"Cas, clean him up," Dean orders.

Castiel just sighs and walks over to Sam and touches his forehead. He goes from looking like he lost a boxing match to brand new. This isn't good enough for you because if Sam would just let Dean get turned into a vampire, then who knows what he's going to do to you–especially since you're pregnant now. You have to think of your baby girl if you want her to survive. With a shake of your head, you head over to Sam until you're neck and neck with him. He's much taller than you, but you don't back down despite him towering over you.

"I will also be watching your every move, Sam. If you so much as touch a hair on my head or harm me in any way, I will send you back to hell myself. Do you understand me?" you glare and poke his chest harder than normal.

"Yeah, I do," he says, and you could have sworn you saw a mischievous glint in his eye as he said that.

"Alright," Dean breaks the tension, "if we're gonna figure out what happened to your soul, then we need to find who yanked you out. You say you don't know?"

"No idea," Sam answers.

"Then we start a list. If it's so hard to spring someone out of the box, then who's got that kind of muscle?"

"I don't know."

"Oh come on, Gabriel is dead, Raphael hates Sam, Michael and Lucifer are locked away, and virtually every angel wanted Sam to say yes, so why yank him out? My guess would be a demon. Question is, who has enough juice to pull it off?" you theorize.

"Not any demon I know," Castiel sighs. "You have no memory of your resurrection?"

"I woke up in a field. That's all I got."

"No clues? None?" Dean groans.

"I've got one," Sam smirks.
