Jacob's POV :
I beamed with anger and my face was red by seeing the scene in front of me. After a few seconds, they pulled away and turned to me.
I thought wow, finally this has kissing has come to an end.
He has slowly kept rose down on her foot. His eyes were glowing with happiness after kissing my girl and turned into a question restored face when he looked at me.
He asked, "Who is this babe ?" and smiled at me.
I wanted to rub that smile off his face with my punches.
Rose turned to me and told him, "He is my new boss ".And was the son of ex-boss a year back!
I felt it like a slap on my face when she has put me like that in front of him.
I know she doesn't accept the feelings which we share but she could have at least tell him how close we were.
He extended his hand forward to introduce himself, am not in a mood to shake this guy's hand.
But I wanna know who is this guy so I extended mine too for a shake.
He introduced himself, "Hi Man, I am Sean walters".
" Rose's boyfriend !"
That immediately sucked the air out of my throat. I felt hard to reply to him. My lips are sealed at the moment. I looked at Rose but she showed no expression on her face.
He was waiting for my reply and looked back at rose because of the weirdness going on. I shooked back to reality and introduce myself.
In a moment he recognized me and said, "I am very happy to meet such a powerful businessman ".
I didn't say a word but replied to him with a forced smile on my face and a nod.
I excused myself from there and rushed inside the home with mixed emotions inside me.
"Why didn't she tell me about him ?"
"How could she give him a chance when she clearly said and left me for the career she wanna build ?"
"Am I not good for her? "
My mind flooded with questions and I wanna clear them out.
When I entered the house Vin was inside, near the window. It looks like she noticed the guy and her eyes were also gleaming as Rose's and asked me happily, "Wow, Nice Sean got time to come visit her, have you met him? Isn't he such fun "
I felt rage but I controlled myself and asked her when did this happen. She looked with puzzled eyes and answered, "you were right there. He just arrived right! "
I cleared my question by saying, "I asked when did they get into a relationship, and how does she know him? "
She said, "well not much time, Eight months I guess ! They met in a park where we usually take walks on Sundays in L.A".
Since then they are an item. He understands her so well, he has always been there whenever she needed him.
"He is a funny guy with a real good sense of humor ".
I don't want to listen any more than that. I left for my room. I couldn't think straight. I have called my manager to get my flight-ready and I wanna leave for New York immediately.
My manager said he would get it done by the afternoon. I can't stay a minute over here anymore.
I packed my things and reached downstairs where there is happiness spread around and everyone was talking loudly and laughing at some absurd jokes.
I cleared my throat and they noticed me.
I announced," if you don't mind me intruding Ms. Valentine can you tell your parents that I had to leave for an emergency back in New York "
She looked surprised by my sudden change in mind for leaving for New York. But didn't uttered a word.
Vin replied asking why can't it handled by others for a day. We guys have started to know you just now and you are in a hurry to leave.
I was looking at rose who is sitting next to that guy and his hands are on her waist holding her close. And that burned me even more.
"Don't worry! We will meet in New York, You guys are gonna transfer over there since the main branch is gonna operate from there now on ", I assured her with a fake smile plastered on my face.
She got bewildered by sudden news and looked at rose and nudged her a little who have just lowered her head facing the ground with disapproval.
I said to Vin that Rose will fill her in about the details which were received in the mail last night. Yes, I made Arnold drop mail after our little stunt at the pool area and I have seen her response to my revelation yesterday night. I wanted to make that official so that she couldn't have second thoughts and made him drop that.
Sean guy shook my hands saying will get to know you better in New York buddy. That made me angrier but I kept calm.
I have given a side hug to Vin. We have got acquainted well last night and I liked her as a good friend.
Rose accompanied me to the car to see me out. Once I reached the car I turned around and she hugged me.
It was sudden.
Her scent filled in my nostrils like it is my favorite smell in the world but hatred in me didn't leave my eyes and I tried to pull off real quick.
Her eyes were in a big disappointment all the time and I couldn't tell why is she like that.
Whether she is tensed that I got to know about her relationship with the guy where she clearly stated that she is not gonna have anyone in her life real soon or anything else.
That's what I always get puzzled about. I couldn't get what's going on in her mind all the time.
I have whispered in her ears saying "this is not our forever goodbye Rose".
"This is gonna be the beginning of our new hatred journey ".
But she didn't pull away soon and she was holding me still as her legs were weak or she is gonna fall real soon if she leaves me.
Her eyes were teary when I pulled away or I was hallucinating. But she doesn't utter a word after that and kept a smile on her face which made me go crazier.
I felt rage running through my veins that she is not affected by my hatred at all. I have got inside and left the place.
Rose's POV :
When we were sitting on the couch Jake suddenly come down and announced he need to leave for New York immediately. I felt bad for his hurt. I knew he likes me and I am not in a position to accept his affection. I didn't listen to anything whatever he was talking about after he announced leaving and a nudge from Vin got me out of my trance.
I have walked him out of the home and kept calm while walking with him and he did the same.
When we reached the car waiting for him outside I hugged him to say farewell he hugged me back tight and I felt happy in his embrace. My eyes welled up which I wiped away in a tricky way during the hug.
His words about our hate journey haven't affected me because I know how much hurt he would have felt when he has seen Sean. I didn't pull out faster since I know he is not gonna be my friend anymore and I am gonna miss his happy face from now. I pulled back from him after some time.
I smiled at him to say goodbye and he didn't spare any more minutes to get inside the car.
My eyes welled up this time completely and I cried my heart out.
"I can't be your friend anymore Jake".
"It's good for you, good for me and my family "
I thought to myself and went inside with a heavy heart.
