Samuel came as soon as Sam called. You've been out looking for Dean the entire night, but you couldn't find him. You have a feeling of where he went, but your guess is as good as any. If you were turned into a vampire and were freaking out, you'd escape to your dad's house just to be with him. While Dean loves your dad with all his heart, he loves a certain woman a lot more. He's with Lisa, you just know it.

"Can't keep track of your brother now?" Samuel asks as he, Sam, and you enter the motel after a night of looking for Dean.

"Well, I didn't think he'd just—"

"He's not himself, Sam. He's a monster and he's hungry. You gotta be prepared to do the right thing."

"Whoa, fuck you Samuel. He's not a monster. That's like calling me a monster, but do you see me sucking the souls of innocent people? No, so shut the fuck up," you glare.

"Listen here young lady—"

"I told you he'd kill me when he showed up," Dean says from the shadows of the darkest part of the room.

Sam and Samuel immediately take out their machetes, but you immediately get into defense mode. They will not be killing him.

"Did you feed?" Samuel asks.

"I went to say goodbye to Lisa, which, for the record, was a lousy idea."

"Dean answer the question," Samuel says more sternly.

"You can relax, I didn't 'drink' anyone," Dean glares.

"Thank God," Samuel sighs.

"But I came close," he says quietly and takes off his jacket. "Alright. Do it."

"What, no!" you gasp.

"Okay, if you insist," Samuel says and slowly walks to Dean.

You jump into action and run toward the men, standing right in front of Dean as if you protect him. You don't know why you're acting like this. Even if you say you're done with him, you can't help but do anything you possibly can for him. Even if that means giving your life for his.

"You have to kill me to get to him," you declare.

"I can do that or I can just turn him back," he reveals.

"What?" you and Dean say at the same exact time.

"What?!" Sam says a bit dramatic, and Samuel gives him a weird look before turning to you and Dean.

"I didn't drive all this way to kill you, Dean. I'm here to save you."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The motel is covered in darkness since the light bothers Dean, so it's a little hard to read Samuel's journal that contains the ingredients for the vampire cure. You swirl a small and simply lit ball of magic to float by the page so you can read what's on there. The only good thing is that Dean doesn't complain about it.

"That's my grandfather's journal. The cure's an old Campbell recipe, kind of like the soup. No one's tried it since God knows. What I hear is this stuff is a bad trip," Samuel explains.

"Awesome," Dean says gruffly.

"Hey, the cure is good, but a lot of this is on you. You drink, you're done. It won't work. I'm talking one drop of human blood—"

"I got it," Dean interrupts.

"Do you? Because you will feed. It's a matter of time."

"Leave. Him. Alone. You don't know him. Stop treating him like he's a child," you back Dean up, and he places a hand on your shoulder to silently thank you for being there for him despite what happened between you two.

"What else do we need?" Dean changes the subject.

"Some stuff we got, some we gotta get. Trickiest thing on the list: blood of the fang that turned you."

"That guy was huge," Sam comments.

"There's nothing in the recipe about 'easy'," Samuel shrugs.

"I can get it," Dean says and roses from his seat.

"You're going to walk right into the nest?" you ask.

"Well, I'm one of them, aren't I? So, all I gotta do is get in there, get the guy alone, and shoot him with so much dead man's blood that he'll think he's rushing a fraternity."

"I should go with you," you offer before Sam could.

"No, you reek. You smell like a juicy hamburger. I'm sorry, but I gotta do this alone."

"Yeah, except we haven't been able to find him yet," Sam points out.

"No problem," Dean shrugs on his jacket. "I can smell him. Two miles east of town. You guys get the other shit and meet me there."

Dean heads to the door, and everyone stands up. Samuel goes over to him with a syringe of Dead Man's Blood.

"Dean, this is Dead Man's Blood. There's enough in here to drop a linebacker, and then some. Good luck, son."

Dean takes the syringe and heads to the door, but you stop him before you can think about what you're doing.

"Dean," you whisper. He turns to you and you reach up to touch his face but you lower your hands. "Please come back. Please be safe."

"I will," he nods and leaves.

You don't want to be with Dean romantically right now, but you don't want him dead.

"What the hell's wrong with you, Sam?" Samuel asks and you snap your head to the two remaining men.

"What do you mean?" he asks faux innocently.

"You knew about the cure!"

"Excuse me?" you step in between the two men.

"What? No I didn't."

"But we talked about it months ago."

"Oh you did?" you ask and face Sam with a very angry face.

"Not me. Must've been Christian or something."

"That's strange, because if you had known, it'd be almost like you let him get turned. You know exactly why," Samuel accuses.

"Sam?" you ask when he didn't respond immediately.

"Are you serious?" he finally says. "You think I'd do something like that! Risk my own brother? What's wrong with you?"

You and Samuel are not falling for his bullshit, and he sees it. Sam rolls his eyes and just sighs.

"Look, I'm just relieved we can fix him."

Sam finishes gathering the supplies and walks out of the room. He needs to escape before either of you question him again.

"Did he know about the cure?" you ask.

"I know it was him. I'm old but not stupid."

Your eyes narrow angrily at this.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You need to figure out what the hell is wrong with Sam now that you have the opportunity to. Samuel is getting some of the supplies, leaving you and Sam alone in his car. You turn to Sam with blue eyes because you're done playing games.

"Give me one good reason not to beat your ass right now," you say slowly.

Sam turns to you and his eyes widened when he sees how serious you're being.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" he asks.

"I have emotions, Sam, and it seems like you don't. Ever since you came back, you haven't been the same. The Sam I know wouldn't have fucked me. The Sam I know wouldn't be so impatient with people. The Sam I know wouldn't have left his brother get fucking turned by a fucking vampire! You're different and I'm going to figure out why."

You leap across the seat and grab his face with blue hands. Your magic is as strong as it can be when it makes contact with his skin, and you read everything about him as long as you can. It only takes three seconds before Sam is pushing you off him angrily.

"Get off me!"

All you can do is just stare at him with wide eyes. What you felt was... nothing. No love, no happiness, no sadness, none of the baggage he's been carrying since basically birth, and no... humanity. Nothing.

"I don't feel anything, Sam. Why don't I feel anything? It's as if there is nothing inside you. There's no humanity or emotions," you gasp.

"Leave me alone, Y/N. I don't want to talk about this. I'm fine, okay? You'd feel this way if you were in the cage," he huffs just as Samuel comes back.

"We have everything we need. We need to get to Dean to get the last ingredient," he says as he sits behind the wheel.

You can't say anything as Samuel pulls away from the curb. You can't take your eyes off Sam the entire drive to the vampire's nest in an abandoned warehouse. Dean's car is parked on the road on the backside of the warehouse. Samuel parks and looks around the area without getting out of the car.

"This must be the place," he says.

You hear a small thump nearby, and your witch powers are tingling in the wrong way.

"Shh," you put your finger to your lips.

Something lands on top of the roof of Samuel's van. A few seconds pass before a vampire suddenly shows up outside the driver's side window. He smashes the window with the intent of killing everyone inside the van.

Sam springs into action with his machete in hand. He doesn't wait for you or Samuel to get on board. He needs to kill, and he needs it now. You and Samuel get the rest of the supplies and scramble out of the car, but the vampire is already dead. He wields a bloody machete and the decapitated vampire slides down the windshield and leaves a blood steak in its wake.

"So much for 'undercover'," Samuel scoffs.

"They knew we were here a mile before we showed up. Come on," you instruct and lead the men inside the building.

It's dark, it smells like blood, there's toppled furniture everywhere, and also tons of vampire bodies lying dead on the floor.

"Looks like your brother has some Campbell in him after all," Samuel comments but continues to move forward.

You three arrive at the main room, and you cover your nose from the stench of blood. Your stomach turns at the potent smell, but you force yourself to keep it together until you know Dean is okay. Just at the end of the railing, it overlooks the entire room, and from there, you're able to see Dean sitting alone with the vampire who turned him dead at his feet. He's using his head as a footstool.

"Dean!" you yell and immediately book it to him using the stairs on your left.

"You okay?" Sam asks while he and his grandfather stay put.

"Yeah, I'm good," he clears his throat.

You make it to his side and drop the machete with a noisy land. First, you check for any outside injuries, and then you try to see if he has turned into a full vampire or not.

"Sweetheart, I'm fine," he sighs. "I'm okay."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that Samuel has everything he needs, he makes the cure back at the motel room. You haven't left Dean's side since he came back to you, and you're trying really hard not to let your feelings show here. Yes, you love him, but you don't want him to mistake it as you being in love with him.

Samuel squirts a syringe of the vampire's blood into a jar that contains the rest of the cure. Dean is panting hard and clutching his stomach. You know he wants to feed and he will of Samuel doesn't hurry the fuck up.

"If this works, it's not gonna be a kiddy ride, you know that."

"That's great. Light her up," Dean rushes.

"So, what'd you see in there?" Sam asks a bit too enthusiastically.

"What?"

"In the nest. What'd you see?"

"Sam, I can't hear you. Your blood is so fucking loud, okay? Just—just back off. Everybody, back off."

Samuel pours the mixture into a coffee cup and hands it to Dean. He takes one whiff and recoils from it. With a grim smile, he lifts the cup in a pretend cheer and downs it noisily and messily. He tries to keep it down, and for a few seconds, nothing happens. Samuel puts his hands on your shoulders to hold you back because he knows what's coming next, and you have to let it happen.

"I don't think it—"

Suddenly he spins around as he retches and projectile vomits what appears to be blood into a nearby wastebasket. Your stomach churns at the sound of someone else vomiting, but you force to keep it down for everyone else's sake.

"Dean!" you yell and try to go to him but can't. "Let me go! He needs me!"

"He needs to do this on his own," Samuel says.

"Look at him! He's dying!" you yell as you struggle.

"Y/N!" Samuel yells.

Dean finishes vomiting, but he can't seem to breathe properly. He raises his head, clutches his stomach, and moans in agony. His fangs have descended, and his eyes are bloodshot. You're not sure what is happening, but neither you nor your magic will help him right now.

Something is going on inside his head that is causing him to feel and act this way. He falls to the ground and closes his eyes, and for a second, you believe he has passed out from the pain. Though, when he moans softly, you know that's not the case.

A few more moments go by, and he's completely still.

"Dean!" you shout and shrug out of Samuel's hold. Taking a knee by Dean's body, you place a hand on his face. His lips are blue, and he's not responding to you. "Why isn't he waking up?"

Dean gasps awake, and you turn to him to take care of him. His eyes are back to normal, the color is rushing back to his face, and he seems to be human again.

Holy shit, it worked.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Are you feeling okay? You said this would be gone by now," Dean says to you after you've thrown up for the second time the next morning.

"I don't know, Dean. All I know is that I've got my head in a toilet every morning, and I want to throw up my own insides," you groan painfully.

"Maybe you should go to the doctor or call Cas."

"We don't have health insurance, and when has he ever answered me lately? I'll be fine Dean," you sigh and flush the toilet.

You wash your hands and brush your teeth before you two exit the bathroom. Samuel and Sam are packing up their things until Sam notices you two just idling standing by.

"Hi. So, what'd you see?" Sam asks eagerly.

This is the most emotion you've seen out of him this entire time.

"What?"

"In the nest. What'd you see?"

"Uhm, well, I'm still trying to work through it, but, I'm pretty sure they're not figuring anything out on their own. They're getting their orders from the top—where to go next and everything."

"Top as in...?"

"Their alpha. At least, that's what I think it is. They've got some sort of psychic thing happening. He sends them, I don't know, messages."

"Saying what?"

"Don't answer that. Don't tell him," you whisper under your breath, but Dean hears.

He doesn't know why you'd say that, but he trusts you a lot more than them.

"I don't know. They didn't tell me," he shrugs.

"Damn," Sam sighs.

"This whole thing isn't the worst part."

"Then what is?"

"We don't scare them anymore."

"I'll meet you three at the car," you sigh and grab your bag harshly from the spot near Sam.

You glare at him as you grab it, and immediately leave the room. You head down to the car which is already unlocked. You open the back seat and toss your bag in. You turn to see Dean standing there with his face buried in his phone.

"How'd it go with Lisa?" you ask.

"It didn't," he sighs.

"I'm really sorry, Dean. I know how much she means to you."

"What about you? What was with that whole, 'Don't tell him' thing?"

"I'll tell you later when they aren't near us. I'm really scared of Sam right now."

"Of him?"

"Yeah, of him. I know you saw the way he just watched you get turned. The way he smiled. He's acting like a shell of his old self. He's Sam on the outside, just not on the inside."
