The boys were hanging out at Daniel's house playing video games when Corbyn pipped up.
"Hey Jack, how did your plan go?"
"Oh, I didn't get to ask him out"
"Was it because you embarrassed him and he ran away?", Daniel teased.
"No, it wasn't!", Jack shoved Daniel playfully, "in fact, we even kissed"
The boys all stopped and stared at Jack as if he lost his mind.
"Wait, you two kissed?", Jonah repeated.
"Yep", Jack replied proudly.
"DETAILSSSSS", Daniel demanded, "I NEED DETAILS!"
Laughing at their reactions, Jack recounted his story.
"That took an.. unexpected turn", Jonah noted when Jack finished.
"I can't believe you said that, oh my gods", Corbyn laughed, "its like you lost but won at the same time"
Jack was confused. "What do you mean I lost?", he asked.
"You didn't get to ask him out", Daniel explained easily, "your main objective was to ask him out but you failed at that. However, you managed to get him to kiss you so you won at that area".
Jack wanted to face palm himself. He has been so excited and giddy by the kids that he had completely and utterly forgotten the reason he did this plan.
"I'm going to ask him out", Jack announced, "tomorrow I'll go up to him and I will ask him"
Daniel couldn't help but slip in another teasing comment, "like a normal person?"
"Like a normal person", Jack agreed.
"All the best, man" Corbyn smiled.
"Hey Jonah, didn't you sign up for the soccer tryouts?" Daniel perked up suddenly, "You never told us how it went"
"Oh, it well really good. In fact I'm on the team!", Jonah grinned.
"WHAT OMG CONGRATSSS!!", they all screamed
"Why didn't you tell us?", Daniel demanded.
"Sorry, must have slipped off my mind", Jonah lied when in reality, yesterday's soccer practice was all he could think of the entire day.

Flashback...
Jonah and a few others that made it to the soccer team was called to the field after school for their first training.
Coach Cameron decided to start off their first training with a short speech. "I'll just like to say a congratulations to all those who made it into the team and a big welcome. I'm really happy with our turnouts this year and I hope you'll be able to contribute to this team and help us reach greater heights".
The senior teammates cheered at Mr Cameron's words and Jonah felt a warm feeling in his tummy. At that moment, he so so badly wanted to be the one that will help the team reach greater heights.
Coach Cameron beamed at their reactions, "now I'll be passing the time to Eben. He is the captain of the team, if you didn't know that, and he will be training you and preparing you for our next match.
Jonah watched as a tall, blonde boy disentangled himself from his team mates and into the front, next to Coach Haven
"He's kinda cute", Jonah thought as he watched Eben walked past him. He'd seen Eben a couple of times before in his classes or the hallways but he never really gotten the chance to get to know him. He only knew Eben by his name and his title as captain and nothing else.
Eben grinned at all of them. "Hey guys. I'm Eben, your captain but there's no need to address me as that, just call me Eben", he said with a smile, "so today I will be splitting you all into two groups, senior members and our newly recruits. Senior members, you know what to do. Please warm up by yourselves first, newly recruits will be with me".
There was a flurry of movement as everyone sorted themselves out
Jonah couldn't help but quickly checked Eben out as he and the other newly recruits followed Eben to the other side of the field.
Eben had on his football jersey that showed off his toned bisceps and gym shorts. Jonah had never seen anyone slay a football jersey like the way Eben does.
Just then, Eben turned around and gave them another toothy grin. "So, this week you'll be doing something simple like drills", he explained. "I'll be taking notes of your stances like how you run, serve balls and how good is your stamina before giving you a suitable position. Is that clear?"
There was a chorus of "yes" which earned another smile out of Eben. (He's so smiley in this, I'm sOfT-)
"Alright, let's begin. Alec, would you like to go first?", Eben asked.
*time skip*
"That was great guys! You guys did so good!", Eben beamed when they were finished with training, "remember, trainings are on Tuesdays and Thursdays. See you all on Thursday!"
As everyone was packing up their things, Jonah decided to go up to Eben, who was picking up all the cones.
"Hey Eben, do you need any help?", Jonah asked.
"Yes please, could you help me collect all those balls and put them back into this bag?", Eben replied.
Jonah nodded and went to retrieve the balls that where left behind by the other boys. "Sheesh, some people have zero responsibility", he thought.
Jonah stuff them into the bag and went back to return it to Eben.
"Thanks so much, Jonah!", Eben exclaimed when he saw Jonah coming up to him with the bag. Jonah smiled back in response.
"I just need to put these back into the store room and we'll be done", he said, pointing to the staked cones he had in his hands as they walked over to the store room near the bleachers.
Jonah stood outside as Eben went into the store room to return the cones. Eben returned almost immediately and flashed him yet another smile which Jonah returned.
"You did really well during training today", Eben pointed out, "probably one of the fastest out of them all".
Jonah felt pleased and proud of himself. "Thanks", he replied gratefully.
"What are up to right now?" Eben asked.
"Nothing much, why?", Jonah asked curiously.
"Oh nothing, since you're free, want to go grab coffee?", Eben asked shyly, "we could get to know each other more".
Jonah could feel his cheeks tingling as he replied, "sure!"

"Yo, bro! You'd never guess what happened today!", Eben screeched at Zach over the phone.
"What?", Zach asked excitedly.
"I had coffee with Jonah!", Eben exclaimed, "we went after practice and I had such a good time oh my gods, you never told me he was this funny!"
"Awww is someone having a crush?"
"Shut upp, what about you? A little birdie told me that you kissed Jack Avery today"
Zach could hear Eben's smirk from across the phone.
"Who said that?", he demanded.
"Like I said, a little birdie"
"Well, who's your birdie then, Snow White?
Eben laughed, "Alright, it was Tate"
Zach groaned.
Tate runs the gossip column in their school newspaper. If Tate had heard about this, then it won't be long before the whole school knows about it too.
"Don't worry man", Eben reassured Zach, "your story isn't eye capturing enough to make the headlines. You know Tate prefers to cover about the latest fights and matches".
"I guess so.."
"So tell me, how was it?"
"Huh?"
"Your kiss dummy!"
"Oh it was amazing. I was so so close with him and his lips- oh my gosh, please don't get me started on his lips. They were so soft and sweet"
Zach could hear Eben chuckle from the other end of the phone.
"Eben.."
"Yea?"
"I think I love him"
