Songhee legs rushed her towards her dorm room, she just finished her evening classes, but that didn't her day was over. Her day was far from that despite the setting of the sun outside the academy.
She avoided Yoongi, kept conversations short, and made sure to get to her room before anyone could follow her or try and ask her what was wrong or why she's been so distant.
Over the last week, Songhee hasn't really spoken to anybody, most people assuming it was because of what happened with Hayoon and maybe that she was heartbroken at the betrayal since they were friends and dorm mates.
Songhee never had the heart to try and correct them, since they at least had half of the story right.
She was heartbroken over Hayoon's betrayal.
She does wish she saw it sooner.
But not so she could have reported Hayoon to Yang and reveal what she'd been doing, no, so she could have saved herself the heart break she's feeling right now.
Songhee walked into her room, Yang thankfully not assigning her a new roommate, locking the door behind her as she threw her bag to the side. She moved to the drawer of her dresser, pulling out multiple pieces of paper and scattering them around her bed, using some tape so she could stick some of the to the wall near her bed.
She had kept the ring Hayoon had given her on her knuckle, not wanting to push it down since she knew she'd forget it was there and wasn't willing to take the risk. Plus, it was on her left hand and she was right dominant, so it didn't really matter to her.
"Hmm," she hummed as she tied her blue hair back, she eyed the paper notes in front of her, staring at them as if they'd speak to her and unveil to her all the answers she desperately wanted.
It was ironic, Songhee didn't want to think about Hayoon, she didn't want to be reminded of the girl that took her heart and stomped on it right in front of her, but here she was, thinking about every acute thing Hayoon had ever said to her, thinking about her face, her body, the way she spoke, the way she carried herself, every little thing she could remember about Hayoon she willed herself to think about.
Because this, trying to decipher who Hayoon Sai was, was a type of therapy for her, because when she did this she didn't really think about Hayoon as a person and just saw her as a mystery to be solved.
And she'd rather see Hayoon as that than the girl she fell in love with.
The guys don't know about what she's doing, since she's been avoiding them too, she ignored their worried glances everytime they looked at her, ignored their questions and just brushed them off.
She didn't want to talk to them until she had this figured out.
Songhee's been analyzing for a week, having been analyzing everything Hayoon said to her and writing it down, which led to lots of headaches and coffee, but was worth it now that she was finally done and now had to try and piece everything together.
Songhee thought about the fact Hayoon looked like a combination of Akane and Joonwae, about that night she sobbed to the point of puking because she was trying to rebuke the thoughts, and the more she thought about it, the more she believed it was true. Especially since Hayoon's surname was Sai, and if you just add a to, it becomes Saito; coincidence? Songhee thought otherwise.
The question was how?
Joonwae was killed, she saw him die through the memories, and Akane committed suicide-
Songhee tilted her head, her lips parting as she grabbed a note that read My mom is interesting, she's kind and crazy in a good way. She then grabbed another one, holding it in her left hand, My father died when I was little... brother shot dead. These were all Hayoon's words that Songhee had remembered and wrote down, and she was more than glad she did.
"What if Akane never killed herself?" Songhee spoke to herself aloud, the two cards in her hands as she paced the room, "What if she faked it to get away from her mom and dad after Joonwae's death, because she was pregnant..." her eyes widened as the cards fell from her hands, her mouth agape.
Songhee's tone was thick with worry and slight fear as she realized,
"Akane's alive."

On the roof, the stars floating around in the abyss that is the night sky, seeming so far away yet close enough to wish upon; close enough to share with this light your dreams, aspirations, and hope they'll come true. The trees swayed in the dance the wind guided them in, animals that dominated the night finally awaking from their slumbers and starting their day as the humans slept.
Though, not all humans were sleeping.
"You know she's going to be upset," one of the girls whispered into the night, though the other heard it loud and clear, the wind guiding the words into her ears, "why would you give that ring away, Hayoon?"
Said girl sighed, running her hands through her short white hair, she flailed her hand in the air out of annoyance, "I don't know, Yeonie, I just did. It felt right when I gave it her..." her voice quavered towards the end, breaking Yeonie's heart.
She started at Hayoon with pity, "Did..." she paused for a moment, though built the courage to ask, "did you love her? What was her name again?"
Hayoon stared down at her feet, which were outstretched in front of her, laying on the slate of the roof, "Songhee, her name's Songhee." she responded, avoiding the first question.
Yeonie made a sound of acknowledgment as she nodded, "That's a pretty name."
"She's pretty," Hayoon muttered, her gaze moving towards the stars above her, "she's beautiful-wait, no, no words can describe how ethereal she is, Jeongyeon. Her hair color matches her so well and she's so so kind no matter what and you don't understand how... how much it hurt to walk away from her. To hurt her like that." Hayoon sucked in a sharp breath, she was on the verge of sobbing.
Yeonie, full name Jeongyeon, sighed as she scooted closer to Hayoon and wrapped her arm around her in a comforting manner. Jeongyeon is the daughter of Cashel and Mrs. Eu, and you could only imagine her pain when she found out Yang killed her mother, the anger that coursed through her veins. Why isn't Yeonie with Cashel? You'll find that out later.
"Then why did you? Why didn't you just walk away when she told you her feelings?" Jeongyeon asked, her tone wasn't harsh nor accusing, she was simply trying to understand why her sun soul would not only put herself in this kind of pain, but that poor girl, Songhee, as well.
Yes, Yeonie and Hayoon are sun souls, though, Yeonie has two.

Hayoon shrugged, holding in her tears, she didn't need her to talk down to her about crying, "I don't know, I should've pushed her away but I didn't, I guess I fell for her first and was just hoping she wouldn't fall for me. I was selfish and didn't think about all the consequences until it was too late." she replied, her tone even, despite how much she wanted to sob.
Jeongyeon hummed, leaning her head on Hayoon's, "Do you think she knows about the ring?"
Hayoon grunted, her head on Jeongyeon's shoulder, "I don't know, if...if she ever found out about it I left a note in my old dresser on how to use it, how to contact me-"
Jeongyeon sat up abruptly, "You're letting her know that ring as witch magic in it? That not only makes you forget you have it on, but also gives a bit of a witches magic too you? And how is it connecting you two-"
"Yeonie!" Hayoon shouted, the female earth elemental finally shutting up and letting Hayoon speak.
"Yes, I am, because she wouldn't use it, most likely; after the way she looked at me I know damn well she probably wants nothing to do with me. And about the connecting, that ring is attached to this-" she lifted up the necklace that was on her neck, "necklace it connects me to her."
"So you're just setting yourself up for more pain?" Jeongyeon inquired, shaking her head at her best friend, "you're a lost cause."
Hayoon chuckled, smiling, as she stared at Jeongyeon, "I missed you."
"I missed you too," Yeonie returned the smile, hugging Hayoon tight.
"And boy did I miss this sappiness," someone stated from behind them sarcastically, their gazes turning to the voice.
Hayoon glared playfully at him, turning her body to face him, "Shut it, Donghan, you act like you didn't miss me while I was gone."
Donghan laughed, standing on the ledge of the roof and walking on it as he turned to give his sister a playful gaze, "I didn't," his vibrant orange hair swayed with the wind as he turned to his twin, "I was glad you were gone."
Hayoon rolled her eyes at his comment, ignoring him as she stood. She knew he was joking, since this is how Donghan always acted. He didn't show weakness, ever, and replaced it with playful bantering.
"Ah, ah, ah," Donghan stepped in front of his sister, keeping her from walking away when she stood, "someone wants to see you, and surprise surprise it's not Jiwoo."
Hayoon's smile dropped, along with her stomach, her heart rate now increasing in her chest at what her brother was alluding. All Hayoon did was take a deep breath as she walked away from her sun soul and teasing twin.
She jumped off the roof, using her ice to keep her from making a harsh impact on the ground, she ruffled her hair a bit before walking into her home. One she hasn't been inside of in months.
The sight in front of her was familiar, which caused a small smile to form on her face as she walked closer to the woman standing with her back facing her, able to feel the warmth emitting off of her. Hayoon cautiously back hugged her, able to feel her tense up before turning around and hugging her back.
"Hi mom," Hayoon sighed at the familiar scent and warmth of her mother, the comfort of being in her arms wiping away the dread that filled her before.
Akane smiled, her chin resting on her daughters head as she responded, "Hi, darling."
