When You Meet:
You were walking home late at night when you realized you were being watched. You drew your katana and looked for the source, but you could only find a pair of yellow eyes watching from a rooftop. It thoroughly creeped you out, but you weren't looking for a fight, so you sped up your trek.
You Meet Again:
A few nights later, you saw the eyes again, this time in an alley. This time you called out to them, reminding them that you were armed and had a satchel of wisteria if needed. They hesitated, but walked out of the shadows, revealing a rather handsome guy with pink hair and pale white skin.
Your skin crawled when you realized it was a demon, but you weren't getting much of a hostile aura from him, so you tried to shove down your discomfort and tried to get a conversation.
He wasn't much for it, but you did tell him that if he decided to meet you again, you'd be willing to talk. (You knew Shinobu would scold you for it later, but honestly, you didn't care at the moment. You were too exhausted.)
You Become Friends:
It took a few weeks of regular meetings, and by the time you relaxed enough around him to stand next to him without that wary feeling when you first met, you realized that you'd become friends of some sort. It was kind of ironic, but it was nice. Akaza, as he introduced himself, was good company, especially during those late nights when you patrolled your village.
You Hang Out:
Since he was a high-ranking Kizuki (and you were a slayer who usually tended to guard your own home town), you didn't exactly get the chance to hang out all that often. But when you did, usually he took you to more secluded areas, such as deep in the forest or near a lake just to talk about your lives. He was sympathetic to the fact that you were looking to find that 'special someone' (as cheesy as it sounded) to settle down with, and since you reminded him of someone in his past, he felt closer to you.
He Makes You Blush:
Akaza glanced over at you, noting the bags under your eyes. You were running yourself ragged again trying to keep the peace. As weak as you still were (not even close to the level of pillar yet), he respected your drive to protect.
You looked over slowly, a tired smile spreading across your face. "What's up?"
"Nothing, just," he hesitated, "I don't understand how someone as attractive and youthful as you would choose this career path."
Your cheeks flushed pink and you looked away shyly. "Well, what else could I do? I'm twenty-one this year, I've got nothing else to do and I want to keep my loved ones safe."
You Make Him Blush:
You were more exhausted than usual this night, and as you sat with Akaza on the roof of some building you were leaning against his side, eyelids heavy.
"You're kind of cold," you teased with a small giggle. "But you make a good pillow, thank you for lending your arm."
Akaza's face went a dusky pink that rivaled his hair, and he gave you a tiny smile.
You Get Injured in Battle:
No matter the injury, Akaza is coming to your aid. It'll be difficult to control his hunger when he sees your blood, but once the enemy demon is slain, he'll get you to safety and order you to heal up.
If you're more wounded, he'll feel an urge to give you some of his blood to heal you, but he doesn't want to do anything without your consent.
He Gets Injured in Battle:
Akaza doesn't care much about getting little injuries in battle, because normally his opponents aren't that powerful. But sometimes he recognizes rather strong opponents and gets a little stressed out. He knows you really can't do much for him, but he appreciates your fussing over that large gash on his bicep, just a little. (Yes, you both realize that it's a little ironic that a human is worrying so much about someone they're supposed to kill, but you trust Akaza more than certain colleagues of yours, and that's the sad part.)
He Realizes He Likes You:
It took a while for Akaza to realize that he'd gained romantic feelings for you. Surprisingly, Douma was the one to point it out during one of his infuriating teasing episodes. Muzan had acknowledged that Akaza was in the company of a human and had warned him about the consequences of befriending one, and Douma immediately figured out that he liked you.
Ever since, he'd be more cautious around you, not wanting to do anything to infuriate Muzan (or send stronger demons after you). He recognizes that he's pretty high-profile and that anything could happen. But he's still determined to be with you because of your companionship and compassionate self.
He Asks You on a Date:
Akaza will be a little hesitant to do so, but he'll likely ask you to do something a little more special with him.
Usually this means taking a stroll or finding a quiet spot to have a snack (surprisingly, you packed him something to eat too, as skeptical that you were about him eating human meat around you).
Failed Date:
It was a lovely night with a new moon, and you and Akaza were sitting on a cliff overlooking a waterfall. The stars were bright and beautiful in the clear navy skies, and you were content, holding hands.
"How long until you need to leave again?" Your soft voice made him turn.
He hummed in thought. "Whenever he wishes it. I don't know when he'll want me to leave."
You nodded your head, satisfied with that answer. Slowly, you leaned closer to him, resting your head against his shoulder.
His face flushed a cute pink and he closed his eyes, enjoying the nighttime breeze.
Everything was so peaceful, until Akaza's eyes snapped open and he gripped your hand tighter.
"There are demons here," he hastily explained, turning his torso to glare into the darkness behind you. "Get ready to fight."
"Aw, okay," you sighed, grabbing your katana and straightening your haori.
If You Asked Him Out:
He's stunned that you decided to ask. Genuinely stunned.
He didn't think you'd want to go out with him, considering your statuses. But after a little bit of talk about the decision, he decides to accept. He wants nobody to hurt you, and even if it meant going against Muzan, he'd protect you no matter what.
If He Asked You Out:
100% shy about it. It's kind of cute how formal he tries to be.
Akaza is a little old-fashioned when it comes to courting someone, and this is made clear when he asks you. He most likely waited until a special occasion, like a festival. He waits until the fireworks start before turning to you, holding your hands in his, and asking if you would date him.
Sleeping Over:
Since Akaza doesn't really have a concrete residence (#justKizukiproblems), he usually goes to your home instead. He has to only visit after sunset and has to leave before sunrise, but it's nice to pretend that you have a more domestic life once in a while.
He's so respectful, you have to giggle at his stiff mannerisms. He wouldn't dream of sleeping in your room with you yet, so thankfully you have a guest room. He tries his best to be the perfect guest, polite and accommodating to anything you have to do. He waits until you inevitably fall asleep to go to the guest room and meditate for a bit, maybe getting in touch with Muzan if the man demands it.
You wake up alone, but he leaves you a sweet little note telling you that he had a wonderful time, and that you'll have to do something like this again.
You Compliment Him:
Akaza's face gets so red, it's actually comical. You'd think he were human by the way his cheeks turn tomato red.
He gets pretty shy about compliments, mostly because he's not used to hearing them, and especially not from pretty girls that he's interested in. (He thinks you're attractive and perfect no matter what, alright, Akaza isn't that picky.) It's likely he'll mutter a small thank-you in response.
Something He Likes About You:
He loves your empathy.
Being a Kizuki (and being a demon on top of that), he's not used to having much in the way of true friendship. Either he's defending himself from slayers or he's trying to keep his spot in the hierarchy by getting stronger. There's simply no time for 'friends' in his world, and it often gets lonely.
But ever since he met you, he sees something in you that he can't remember having for years and years. It's comforting to have you as first, a friend, and now, a partner. It's something to ground him to the present, to remind him that he's not just a mindless monster.
He Gives You a Gift:
Akaza tries to give you something valuable, but he knows you appreciate anything he thinks to give you.
It makes it a little easier to look around for you, but he likes to find nice things to give you once in a while. Maybe he'll find a necklace with a little (breath style) charm set with jewels or a beaded bracelet. He wants to give you nice things, but laments that he doesn't always have the time or resources to do so.
