The end of the month came in a blink of an eye. And Jisoo was going to get married. It was her time to shine for once in her life.

The chirpy woman had handed out her wedding invitations two weeks ago to arrange for the tables at the venue and she was so excited for it. I mean, she was getting married so why wouldn't she be?

When Lisa and Jennie got the wedding invitations, Jisoo was yelling about how they have to be there or else she would not go to their weddings.

"But I don't even know anyone there." Jennie whined as the three of them were heading out for dinner.

"Jen you can go with Lisa." Jisoo smirked as she gestured at them. "Also guys, I'm not moving to Canada anymore." She proudly announced as they sat down to order their food.

"Really?" Lisa almost yelled but Jennie stopped her when she noticed there was a lot people in the restaurant.

"Yeah, I'm staying, but I'm still quitting because I just don't want to work anymore." Jisoo smirked as she glanced at Lisa. "This is my life, and if I want to be an unemployed woman, I'll be an unemployed woman. Ain't no one can stop me."

The boss just pouted like a child, she was glad her best friend/ secretary wasn't leaving the country but she was still not going to be able to get used to her not being in the office anymore.

"You're so annoying." Lisa whined.

"I am a queen now that I'm going to be a married woman." Jisoo menaced with an evil grin.

"Fine, I don't need you." Lisa grumbled and refused to look her best friend while Jennie just gazed at Lisa and smiled at her childish behaviour.

"Who needs YOU?" The CEO mocked.

"Aw come on Limario it's not that bad! Jennie will still be with you and she's already familiar with the work." Jisoo comforted but ended up snorting when she saw Lisa frowning aggressively.

The crazy best friend poked Lisa's cheeks but the latter still continued frowning. It was as if her facial muscles were distorted.

"Oh my god, stop looking like I've died or something!" Jisoo screamed jokingly, "Get your ugly ass face out of the way!"

"I swear to Jisoo's christ if you don't stop I'll-"

"Okay, okay! Cut it out!!" The brunette separated them once she saw Jisoo starting to throw hands.

Jennie giggled when she finally understood why the two are best friends. Childishness at it's finest. Though they were older than her, it seemed as though she was the mature one.

"Okay boss, that's enough. We know you're hot."

"Great! I'm not mad anymore." Lisa's frown instantly turned into a cheeky smile as she savoured her food. The other two laughed in unison and they ate in silence.

"Cheers to Jisoo's last day of liberty!" Everyone clanked their glasses and soon went home separately.

The way Jisoo lived by the motto, the night is still young didn't apply today as she actually wanted to get sleep for her big day tomorrow.

Jisoo went by cab and Lisa as usual fetched Jennie home.

"What time's the wedding again?" Lisa asked as they reached the bus stop and Jennie got out of the car.

"We have to be there by 6pm." Jennie replied shortly with a yawn.

Seeing that made Lisa chuckle, "Okay sleepyhead go get some rest, I'll be waiting for you here at 5.30pm, okay? Don't make me wait."

"No one asked you to fetch me?" Jennie sarcastically rolled her eyes and laughed.

"But I want to, and I will." Lisa smiled back with a pause, "You're still not going to let me know where you live?"

"I live here, duh." Jennie emphasised as she gestured to the whole of her neighbourhood which was obviously not specific enough to just identify one house.

Lisa just shook her head, "Fine, I won't ask anymore. I'll wait for you here then."

"Goodnight Jennie." She almost whispered as she saw Jennie lean forward to the car window left open for them to hear each other.

"Night Lisa." Jennie beamed at her boss one last time before making her way down the streets with a skip in her steps.

What is this? I'm not supposed to feel this way. Lisa thought as she watched the brunette's silhouette slowly fade away.

__________

Jennie woke up early and noticed there was still some time till Lisa picked her up so she decided to do some work to past time. After breakfast, she made her way to her parent's store for awhile before having lunch with Alice nearby.

When she got back home, Kai said he was free to call so they talked for awhile.

"Hey babe, how's it over there?" He sounded groggy from the other end of the line. Maybe he just woke up, Jennie thought.

"Pretty good, my friend's getting married today and I'll go with my boss to attend the wedding dinner." Jennie briefly mentioned as she looked at him from the screen. She wondered why but her fiancé was starting to look older, though he still looked good.

"That's nice. You've told me a lot about this boss of yours, I hope to meet her when I'm back."

"I'm sure she'll be fine with it." Jennie smiled and he smiled back. But when she smiled, she was unconsciously thinking about Lisa.

Somehow, their call time keeps getting shorter and shorter. It's barely been months since they were away from each other but it feels like there's nothing really to talk about between them.

"I have to go now, I'll text you later okay?" Kai said before he ended the call almost immediately, cutting Jennie off when she wanted to say bye.

"Whatever, you always say that but you don't even do it anyways." Jennie mumbled to herself with slight irritation. Kai always claims to text her back but when he does, most of the times it would just say 'have a good nights sleep, I'm going to bed.'.

And Jennie would frown because what was the point of saying that if he was just going to go ahead and sleep anyway?

"Stupid men."

The brunette made her way to the living room and saw that her mom came home.

"Mom? You're back?"

"Oh, Jennie, your dad is running the store so I just wanted to come home for a little rest before going back." Susan sat on the sofa before looking back at her daughter.

"What's wrong? Something happened?"

Jennie pondered as she fiddled with her fingers on the spot, "Nothing mom, I just.. something's been bothering me a little for awhile."

"You can tell me about it." Susan pat the area beside her before Jennie made her way over like a child.

"I feel very distant from Kai recently, like his texts are dry and every time he calls, we don't even talk past ten minutes." Jennie's mom listened intently to her daughter.

"And when he texts me, all he says is goodnight. So like, what's the point of that?" Jennie grumbled and let out a scoff.

Her mom went silent for awhile before she rubbed her daughter by the shoulder to comfort her.

"Maybe make more effort to call him?"

"He always says he's busy, this and that, and then when he actually has the time to call, he leaves in the middle of it with the same excuse." Jennie rolled her eyes with frustration.

Susan observed her daughter for a moment.

"See how it goes for the next month or so, honey. If it's between the both of you, I can't really do much about it."

Jennie frowned, she thought talking to her mom would get her some advice.

"Communication between two people is the most important thing. I know Kai's a nice man and all, but okay Jennie sweetie, if this goes on," Susan paused, "Well I know you're in a bad position because you're supposed to get married to him when he's back but.. I'd say, drop the man if you really need to okay dear?"

The brunette let out a frustrated sigh before heading back to her room in silence.

What, drop the man? Well, no she wasn't going to just drop the man like that. It isn't that simple.

Not in the mood for work anymore, Jennie just laid in bed for the rest of the day until it was 4pm.

She dragged herself to get ready and mumbled 'screw men' to herself before changing into the Chanel attire Lisa got her. She hasn't been wearing it very often because she doesn't want it to get dirty but for Jisoo's wedding she's willing to. The brunette did some light makeup and sprayed a layer of rose perfume before slinging on her Chanel handbag and heading towards the bus stop.

She was still troubled over the Kai problem so her legs moved faster to distract herself off her mind. Unconsciously, Jennie overshot the bus stop and continued walking until she heard Lisa calling her from a distance.

"Jennie- hey! Where are you going?" Lisa wind down the window and shouted after the brunette when she saw her walking away from the bus stop.

The clumsy girl made a u-turn and apologetically made her way to the passenger seat. She felt ashamed because she thought she must have looked stupid walking across the bus stop, like an idiot who lost her way around her own neighbourhood.

"Hi, I'm sorry I was-" Jennie was interrupted when she heard Lisa taking in a huge sniff.

"What perfume are you using? You smell good." Lisa spoke while perking her eyebrows at Jennie.

"Stop being a pervert boss." Jennie rolled her eyes.

"I was just asking." Lisa mumbled sulkily before making her way to the wedding venue.

"You look pretty today by the way."

"Thank you boss, you too." The brunette said platonically but Lisa smiled shyly when she heard her.

"Why were you walking away from the bus stop?"

"I was just distracted, that's all. Don't worry about it."

__________

The guests were arriving little by little to the wedding venue and everyone was having a good time. Lisa stayed with Jennie throughout, afraid she might be unfamiliar with the place and feel uncomfortable.

"Hey Mr and Mrs Kim!" Lisa waved and reached out for a handshake as she met an old couple while making her way to her dinner table. Jennie followed behind quietly, not knowing what to say.

"Lisa, it's been a long time. Glad to see you at Jisoo's wedding." Mr Kim took her hand.

"Of course Sir, Jisoo is my best friend, how could I not come?" Lisa laughed and the old man gave her shoulder a light pat. Mrs Kim stared at Lisa lovingly like she was her own daughter and Jennie was kind of surprised that they were this close.

"Still single Lisa? Who's this?" Mrs Kim spoke out of the blue as she observed Jennie with a smile.

"Yes. She's Jennie, my new secretary. It's a pity Jisoo isn't planning on working anymore after her wedding." Lisa sulked slightly as she looked at the couple and then looking at Jennie with a smile.

"We still wanted her to work with you, but as you know, we couldn't stop that kid." Mr Kim chuckled while his wife nodded.

"You two look nice together." Mrs Kim commented.

"She has a fiancé." Lisa whispered before Mrs Kim shockingly looked toward Jennie again. "Oh! My bad, but very nice to meet you Jennie."

"Nice to meet you too, Jisoo's a great friend and I'm really happy to be able to attend her wedding today." Jennie took their handshakes politely before they chatted awhile more, heading back to their respective seats assigned.

"Never knew you were such a charmer Jennie, they loved you!" Lisa exclaimed as they sat down, waiting for the dinner to serve.

"Yeah, I'm happy for Jisoo." Jennie said shortly.

"You okay? You've been really off ever since I've picked you up today." Lisa watched Jennie carefully as the brunette closed her eyes and replied with a sigh, "I'm fine."

"You told me not to worry about you but just look at yourself." Lisa paused, "What happened?"

"I don't want to talk about it now. We're supposed to enjoy this."

"No seriously Jennie, what's wrong? I'm worried."

Jennie opened her eyes and looked at Lisa, who sounded so genuine.

She's worried? About me?

"Just leave me alone, Lisa." Jennie uttered before getting herself some serving of each dish, eating in silence as the wedding ceremony started grandly.

Lisa couldn't sit still the entire way throughout the meal.

What's up with her?
