I'm walking through the forest in my wolf form. This rouge, Derek, decided on his own that he will stay with me. I didn't want him to but he keeps following me, almost broke his neck in the beginning for following me and eating some of my kills. The only reason I'm allowing it is because...hell, I don't even know.
I turn around to see him trotting smiling and closing his eyes. Happy as a bee, he then trips over a root and falls on his face. I scuff and laugh on the inside. Idiot.
We were now walking into a empty field with long grass and Derek runs right past me jumping in it. He barks at me to join him as he runs and rolls around. I roll my eyes and just continue walking forward getting hungry. I then feel a body hit into me and we roll around till I get on top and growl. Derek is under me on his back just smiling up at me. I snap at his face not wanting to play. I get off him and continue to walk. I sniff the air loving the wind through the grass onto my fur. It was getting late. I was about to leave the field till I heard a painful howl. I turn around expecting Derek to be right behind me but he wasn't.
I hear the howl and move closer to it cautiously then I see Derek on the floor still and in pain. I didn't bite him did I? I rush over sniffing for wounds but didn't find anything. He howls again. I don't know what to do. I push him gently with my nose and whimper. He just winces in pain. I walk around him back and forth as he howls. What do I do?
I whine and lay my head on his neck and he whimpers. I lay down with my head on his neck. I never saw him do this, and we've been together for awhile. I then hear rustling in the woods and I get up putting my body over Derek who whimpers again.
I smell rouges. Not till they got closer did I see four of them, with their red glowing eyes. They saw me and started to growl and I barked back. I looked down at Derek, he couldn't fight like this. I look up again and the wolves start to circle around me. I guess I'll have to handle them by myself. I then lunge.
I open my eyes and take in a deep breath. A dream of my life in the forest with Derek. The first time I say him in pain. I look over to my left and see a sleeping Arthur. I smile at him and turn on my side to face him. He was also on his side with his arm across my hip. His hair was in his eyes so I pushed it to the side and he exhales a breath scouting closer to me. He was still really tired. I turn around and grab my phone that was on the night stand and saw it was 2 in the afternoon.
I slowly and quietly get up and go into the bathroom. I look at myself in the mirror and I looked like a hot mess. My hair was all tangled and bags were under my eyes, I was paler than usual too. When I turn on the sink I see the bandages around my wrists, I then remember this morning. That was scary. I hope the girls are feeling better.
I take off the bandages and the cuts were already healed. I then wash my hands and face. I need to look like a decent person, so I got into the shower and after, I brushed my hair and teeth. I walked back out into the room and into the closet. I run my finger across Arthur's t shirts till I got to my section.
I smiled, happy I was all moved into Arthur's room. I turn around to look at him and he was still peacefully sleeping. I take a pair of sweats and a sweater to change into. When I was done and back to the bed. I lean down and give Arthur a kiss on his forehead not trying to wake him up. I look at his neck and see my mark. It was such a beautiful pattern. It had swirls and some lines, they kind of looked like vines with small specks looking like leafs. It wasn't dark like a tattoo but just a shade darker than his skin. I then touch my neck where his mark was.
I was finally fully mated with my mate. I feel alive again.
I quietly walk out of the room and downstairs to the kitchen feeling really hungry. When I was closer I could smell something delicious cooking, my mouth started to water as I got closer. I turn the corner to see a guy stirring something in a pot.
"That smells really good" I said walking closer to the guy who jumps a little, I didn't mean to scare him. He turns around and I see it was Chuck. I smile and he gives me a tight smile back turning to what ever he was cooking.
"I can see you fully mated with Arthur" he said not looking at me. I walk to the fridge getting a water bottle.
"Yeah" I reply and chug half my water. I try to sneak a peak at what was cooking in the pot. It was a beef pot roast. My stomached growled.
"Ha, sorry about that" I said and he just chuckles.
"You want some?" he asks me looking at me and I smile nodding really fast.
"Yes please"
I'm now sitting at the breakfast bar eagerly waiting for Chuck to finish cooking with a fork and knife in my hands. I even tucked a napkin in my neck not wanting to get my sweater dirty. Damn I was so hungry. He turns around with a plate and looks at my get up.
"You're acting like you haven't ate in days" He laughs putting the plate in front of me. I lick my lips stabbing my fork in the meat and cutting it with the knife. I put the bite in my mouth and couldn't help but moan in delight. Damn that was good. I take another bite with some veggies this time.
"Mm mm mmm" I said kicking my legs back in forth smiling as I chew another bite. This was to good.
"I'm glad you like my cooking. When you're done I'll give you more" He says as I stuff my face.
"Thanks" I muffled since my mouth was still full. I look up at him and he's leaning on the counter in front of me eating his own bowl.
"I'm sorry" He says and I look at him confused. I tilt my head chewing a mouthful of food.
"What for?" I ask chugging my water to push the food down my throat, that was to big of a bite.
"For how I treated you, how I'm treating you" He said not looking a me.
"I see" I put my water down and smile up at him, "I forgive you"
He looks up at me shocked and I just smile at him. He smiles back and let out a laugh.
"That easy?" he takes another bite shaking his head.
"I like anyone who feeds me a good meal. Plus I understand why you acted the way you did. You grew up being warned about my kind. You acted the way you should have, us lone wolves are dangerous." I say pushing my left over veggies.
"I know but you aren't what I was warned about. You're nice and you fought back only because I attacked you, self defense" He continues looking down. I lean forward and putting my hand on his.
"It is what it is. Nothing we can do about it. Soon I'm going to join the pack and won't be a lone wolf anymore. Nothing to worry about" I said smiling and he looked at me happy.
"I'm glad. You're going to be a great Luna" He said and I blushed. Damn I really didn't think about that. I totally forgot Arthur was going to be Alpha and as his mate, I will be his Luna.
"I'll try my best" Then we hear footsteps coming and I lean back into my chair handing my plate to Chuck.
"More please" I said and he chuckles turning around to put more food on my plate.
"Mmm that smells good" I hear and smile. Arthur comes into the kitchen scratching his stomach and towards the pot.
"Oh, beef pot roast" Arthur says getting a fork from the drawer and about to take a bite from the pot but Chuck blocks the fork with the spoon he was using to scoop up my food.
"Get a plate. We're not animals" Chuck says frustrated and Arthur scuffs getting a bowl.
"But we are" He said as Chuck hands me my plate and grabs Arthur's bowl. Arthur comes over to me and kisses the side of my head sitting next to me.
"How you feeling?" He asked
"Better, my wound already healed, see" I said showing him my fully healed wrists. He grabs my right one and kisses.
"Good" He says and Chuck puts his bowl in front of him.
"Since we're animals, I suppose you can eat with your hands" Chuck says and I laugh. Arthur just glares at him and Chuck gives him a fork he was hiding behind his back. Arthur then started to eat.
"Arthur! What do you say" I said slapping his arm.
"Oh, thanks" He said through a full mouth and I roll my eyes. How rude. Chuck just barks out a laugh.
"You're totally going to be an amazing Luna" He says after his laughing fit, I again blush. Arthur smiles and looks at me as he rubs my back.
"Yeah she will" he says eating another bite.
"Is that Chuckles famous Beef Pot Roast I smell?" We hear Will ask coming into the kitchen. Becky right behind him rubbing her eyes and yawning. I was shocked. She was already feeling better, then I smelled the air. A human.
It worked.
I quickly get up and run to her giving her a huge bear hug. She was okay. She was human again.
"I'm so glad you're okay " I said and she hugs me back.
"Me too." She says and we break apart and I look at her up and down.
"I thought you were going to turn into a old women. Why are you still young? Didn't you live for hundreds of years?" I asked confused and she gasped.
"I will let you know I was 121 years old, thank you very much. I look exactly what I did when I was first turned, 21" She said and I nodded. Makes since.
"It's so weird dating an older woman" Will says laughing as he takes a fork out and about to stick it in the pot, like Arthur did, but Chuck just slapped his hand and pointed at the plates.
"Oh shut up. I never dated such a young guy before either" She says crossing her arms over her chest and Will gasps waiting for Chuck to finish giving him food.
"I am 18, I'm a grown man" He said buffing his chest, I laughed. Becky just rolled her eyes getting a plate of her own and gave it to Chuck after he handed back Will's plate. She says thank you as she waits. Will just stuffs his fast as he walks around to sit with Arthur and I. Becky just shakes her head but still smiles at his childishness.
"I thought I smelled something tasty" David said walking in with a tired Lily on his back. Aww he was giving her a piggy back ride down here because she was to tired.
"I guess I'm going to need to make more" Chuck sighs and we laugh.
"Get back here Derek!" I hear Emily yell as Derek jumps into the kitchen in his wolf form. He sees me and comes over and hid between Arthur and I.
"Whats wrong?" Arthur asks then storms in Emily.
"Let me give you a bath, dammit!" Emily says frustrated. Derek backed away and Emily slowly approaches him. Each time she stepped forward he stepped back till she lunged at him. He was able to hop away and he then shifted back.
"I can wash myself" He whines. Emily glares at him then she looked down and blushed. Derek looks down and now realizes he' butt naked. He grabs his junk.
"Sorry" I just shake my head. That's my best friend for you.
"Fine do what you want, I don't care" Emily huffs crossing her arms and face her head away from Derek.
"Well I guess you can still do it" He says seductively and Arthur growls.
"Shes still a minor, you grown man" Arthur says taking another bite and Derek blushes.
"How old are you again Emily?" He asks. Still not looking at him.
"16" she replies and he gulped. That's an eight year gap.
"Darn. I have to wait two years" He sighs putting his head down and started to walk to the stairs still holding his junk.
"I suppose I can put on some pants" He says as he turns the corner. Emily watches him and I saw her smile making me smile. Shes accepting him. Derek comes back and in Arthur's sweats.
"Derek! Those are Arthur's!" I yell at him and Arthur laughs.
"Oh I thought they were yours" He says scratching the back of his head sheepishly smiling. I just gave him a 'are you stupid' look.
"It's okay" Arthur says and I gasp.
"See, its okay. Thanks dude" Derek says patting Arthur's shoulder and poking my nose. I snap at his finger, almost biting it to, but he pulls back looking at me like I'm crazy.
"Does anyone else want any?" Chuck asks and Will shoots his hand up like a little kid, Becky puts her head in her hand. I laugh.
"Ooh I want some" Derek says coming over to Chuck with a plate ready for him to take. I look around and all my friends. Becky and Will were sitting next to Arthur and I at the breakfast bar. David and Lily sat at a table in the corner with Emily in front of them eating and Derek walks over to sit with her. She got a napkin and wiped the corner of his mouth shaking her head. I smile.
Life is good.
