BONUS CHAPTER #24: Jealousy
"I have to admit... The truth is... The truth is... I'm deeply in love with you and I would totally love if you'd let me be your girlfriend, Naruto!" Nia babbled as she stood in front of the mirror of a bathroom at an inn.
She slowly opened her eyes and unclenched her fists that had been curled near her chest. Nia noticed just how red her face was when she gazed at herself in the mirror.
"Ugh..." Her head dropped while her arms fell to her sides. "It's no use... I'm hopeless... I can't confess my love to a boy. I just... don't have enough confidence in myself."
There has to be some way I could let him know how I feel...
Nia bit her lip.
But... I'm scared. What if... What if he rejects me? What if he doesn't feel the same way? Then that would mean... I really am unlovable. Getting rejected a billion times... by every guy i've ever liked and every other guy? That's gotta be like, a fate worse than death...
Nia slid her back down the wall until her bum reached the floor.
Haaah... Why do I always keep getting rejected by everyone? Am I really that worthless?
The girl wrapped her arms around her knees and buried her head in the open space of them.
I'm... really hard on myself, but... I just can't help it. I feel so... hideous and unworthy. I just can't imagine anyone ever liking me... even as just a friend. I'm literally so annoying, frustrating, stupid, ugly, fat, and just ugh! Who wants to be around someone like me?
Nia then imagined Naruto's smiling face and blushed.
He's literally so nice... but why would he ever wanna hang with someone like me? He shouldn't have to deal with my irritating ass. He deserves better than that, but even so... I can't help it. I want him around me. I want him to stay with me and be there for me cause... I really, really like him. I have the biggest crush on him and I don't know how to tell him, but I have to do something before it's too late. I mean, what if this Sakura chick ends up returning his feelings? I'd be fucked! And not in the good way either.
Nia rested her chin on the back of her hands.
Nia... You need to get yourself straightened out. You need to stop bringing yourself down. You need to have confidence. You need to love yourself. You need to accept everything that you are. What if... just what IF the guy of your dreams returns your feelings?! What if he cares for you, too?!
Nia immediately shook her head.
No... That's impossible... He's too good for me. He's an angel! I'm like a demon or something! I'm a terrible person!
Nia felt like there was an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other.
'But what if he thinks you're cute?! That you're amazing and kind?' The angel said.
'He couldn't possibly think that!' The little devil said. 'He thinks you're ugly, fat, and just complete garbage! He could never EVER like you under any circumstance!'
'Don't listen to her! He literally does everything he can to make sure you're happy! To make sure you're safe! I'm telling you, he likes you! He likes you, likes you!'
'If that's true then he would've been confessed his love, but he hasn't! And why is that? It's cause he loves another girl!'
The little angel on Nia's shoulder said, 'But she doesn't like him back! On top of that, he's single! You can still win him over! You just have to believe in yourself and try to get him to like you even if everything seems hopeless! Don't give up till he actually gets a girlfriend or makes it clear he'll never be with you! You just have to try!'
Thinking of that more, Nia felt her spirits having been raised slightly.
'T-Thats right!' She jumped to her feet. 'Naruto's single... and he doesn't have a girlfriend! On top of that, Sakura doesn't even feel the same way for him! That means I still might have a chance to win him over! I just... I just have to keep trying!'
With that, Nia slammed the bathroom door open.
"Just you wait, my future husband! You and I are gonna be together forever one way or another!" She yelled, her hand still gripping the door handle.
"GAH!" She suddenly heard a furious growl. "WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE CALLING YOUR FUTURE HUSBAND?! IT BETTER NOT BE ANOTHER MAN OR FOR SURE AKI-TRASH, YA KNOW!"
When Nia looked to her right, she saw as fire were in place of Naruto's eyes and he was gritting his teeth as a vein throbbed at his temple.
"N-Naruto!" She gasped as she then moved and stood in front of him.
"CURLY BROW, EXPLAIN YOURSELF!" The blond was beyond angry as he approached her until Nia's back hit the wall. "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING YOUR FUTURE HUSBAND?! YOU'RE NOT TRYING TO LEAVE YOUR PROTECTOR, ARE YOU?!"
"N-No, Uzumaki..." Nia felt a bit intimidated. "I'm not trying to leave my protector at all!"
"THEN WHY ARE YOU CALLING ANOTHER MAN YOUR FUTURE HUSBAND?! I'M THE ONE WHO WOULD GIVE HIS LIFE FOR YOU, YA KNOW!"
Hearing this, Nia's heart thudded in her chest.
"Oh Naruto..." She melted in his arms. "You're literally so protective of me..."
Naruto reddened then wrapped his arms around the girl, resting his cheek stop her head.
"Of course my sweet, precious Curly Brow. But seriously, who were you calling your future husband?" He seemed to calm down a bit due to her affection.
"I... I can't tell you..."
"And why not, gorgeous?"
Hearing this, Nia gasped as her eyes widened.
"G-Gorgeous?" She couldn't believe her ears.
"Yes... You're absolutely gorgeous," The blond said.
Nia's heart melted as tears filled her eyes.
"Oh Naruto... I can't take it... I can't take it anymore. I love you... I love you so much!" Nia then went in for a kiss, pressing her lips against the genin's.
Her body trembled. However, to her surprise, her crush rested his hand on her cheek and kissed her back, deepening it.
Nia was elated. She was on top of the world. All was right in the world... except for the fact that she was making out with her pillow.
"Oh Naruto, I can't believe you like me back," Nia was kissing her pillow as she rolled over to her back, squeezing it to her.
She was only dreaming about her crush.
Hearts floated out of her head as she made out with her pillow, thinking it was Naruto.
"Forget about Sakura and every other girl... Let me be your true love," She talked in her sleep. "I'm the one that thinks good of you! I think you're hot, kind, strong, brave, and just literally perfect! Marry me, honeybuuuun."
"NIA!" A voice startled the girl as she sat right up with bug eyes.
"Golly, you're just a mess in love, aren't you?" Jiraiya was revealed to have came into her room to check on her in the morning.
"Haaah... Naruto..." A squirmy smile appeared on Nia's face before she collapsed onto her back and dozed off again.
Jiraiya sweatdropped.
"Naruto, why don't you come get your woman?" He yelled to the other room across from Nia's.
"Is my sweet Curly Brow awake yet?" Naruto replied, sitting down in his and Jiraiya's room.
"No, she's busy dreaming about you. You do realize she has it bad for you, don't you?"
"That's what you always say even though we both know she don't like me like that," Naruto sighed.
"Ugh! How are you so oblivious?! She has the absolute HOTS for you!" Jiraiya claimed.
Naruto just rolled his eyes then yawned.
"Yeah... Yeah... Whatever you say, Pervy Sage."
"There's just no helping you, is there, Naruto?"
Naruto only stood up and grabbed some things and headed into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.
Jiraiya ran his hand down his face.
Why do I BOTHER trying to get these two together?! Like the feelings are THERE, but ughhh!
Hours later, the sannin observed as his students gave eachother kisses on the cheek while they all sat on a table bench.
"Mwah!" Naruto kissed Nia's cheek.
"Mwah!" Nia then did the same to his.
"Mwah! Mwah!" The blond kissed each side of the girl's cheeks.
Likewise, Nia did the same to his. Suddenly, Naruto wrapped his arms around the girl and started kissing the entirety of her face.
"Mwah! Mwah! Mwah! Mwah! Mwah! Mwah! Mwah!" He then gave a big kiss to her forehead and next cheek again.
"Oh Naruto..." Nia melted for the millionth time as she stayed in his arms.
If only he'd kiss me on the lips... I'd be the happiest girl alive!
"Curly Brow, you're literally my world," Naruto squeezed the girl to him, pressing his hand against the back of her head so it was more snuggled to his chest. "I don't know what i'd do without you."
"That must mean... you love me more than you do Sakura..." Nia smiled.
"Huh?" Naruto raised an eyebrow and looked down at the girl.
"You do... don't you?" Nia looked at him with puppy dog eyes.
"S-Sweet Curly Brow, I told you before. I can't compare my love for Sakura to my care for you. I wanna protect and have both of you by my side."
Hearing this, Nia became upset.
"No! I wanna be the only girl you love and think about!"
"I sure do think of you a lot, precious Curly Brow..."
"No, Naruto! I wanna be the only one!"
Naruto started to sweat.
"Curly Brow, you are so incredible..." Naruto then cupped her chin and gazed her in the eyes. "Please don't ask me to compare you to Sakura."
"But Naruto, you literally love her and not me," Nia pouted.
"Sweet Curly Brow, I love you very much, ya know!"
"Fine then! Don't ask me to compare my love for you to my care for Akihiko!"
"WHAT?!" Naruto immediately became enraged. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT CURLY BROW! YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH AKI-TRASH?!"
"What's it to y-"
Immediately, Naruto jumped out of his seat and started running off, his arms flying behind him.
"THAT'S IT! I WON'T STAND FOR THIS ANY LONGER!" He growled, his face red with frustration and determination. "I'M KILLING HIM! I'M GONNA FIND HIM AND KILL HIM FOR TRICKING YOU INTO FALLING FOR HIM!"
"KYA!" Nia screamed when she realized what she had done. "NARUTO, DON'T! I WAS JUST KIDDING, MY PROTECTOR! I DON'T LOVE AKIHIKO, I SWEAR!"
However, Naruto was too far gone for him to hear her.
"Don't you worry about him," Jiraiya tried to ease the girl before he disappeared in a puff of smoke.
He next appeared in front of Naruto but the genin simply jumped over his master, but when he did, Jiraiya lengthened his hair and wrapped it around Naruto's body then slammed him to the ground.
"DAMMIT, PERVY SAGE!" Naruto was wiggling around, his teeth gritted in anger. "LET ME GO!"
Red bubbles started appearing from his body.
"Calm down, would ya?" The sannin said.
"NO!" Naruto refused as his eyes turned red. "I'M GONNA KILL HIM! I'M GONNA KILL HIM FOR TAKING MY PRECIOUS CURLY BROW AWAY FROM ME!"
Before Naruto's anger would take control of him, Jiraiya took out a sealing paper and placed it on the ninja's head. Immediately, the red bubbles dissipated and Naruto's blue eyes returned.
"Give it a rest already. Your precious Nia wasn't serious about her hinting that she "loves" Akihiko. She was just mad about your feelings for Sakura," Jiraiya explained.
"W-What?" Naruto blinked. "My sweet, precious Curly Brow isn't in love with another man?"
"No..."
Immediately, Naruto calmed down.
"T-Then why would she say what she did?" He questioned.
"She was obviously jealous over your feelings for Sakura, Naruto."
"But my sweet Curly Brow doesn't get jealous."
"Oh yes she does, but I'd say your jealousy is out of control. It's much worse than her's."
Retracting his hair back to it's original state, Jiraiya let Naruto free as the genin stood up.
Wasting no time, Naruto headed back to Nia where she was standing by the bench, concerned over how her crush was feeling over what she had said.
"CURLY BROW!" Naruto ran to her, crushing her in a hug and lifting her off her feet, spinning her around.
The girl blushed at his affection and apologized to him.
"I-I'm sorry, Naruto. I didn't mean to make it sound like I was in love with another man. I just got angry cause sometimes you make me think that you love another girl more than me and it hurts me."
"Oh Curly Brow... You know your precious to me so why do you question my love?"
"Because..." Nia became shy.
Naruto kissed her cheek and told her that he forgave her. He kept her to his chest and the two stayed like that for as long as they could.
