*Juliet's pov*
I was running until I couldn't anymore. I was out of breath, in the middle of no where, and my feet were sore.
I felt dehydrated. I've been crying and sweating.
I got out my phone and called Ashley.
"Ash?" I said.
"Yeah?" She answered.
"Please come to pick me up. I'm on sunset." I said.
"I thought you were with the guys." She said.
"No. Something happened." I said.
"What happened?" She asked.
"Nothing, just please come." I said.
"Okay. I'm on my way." She said as she hung up.
I looked back, and I saw a small figure running towards me.
It was Hayes.
I went into the closest building and hid. I didn't want him to see me.
Good thing it was a restaurant.
I had some money with me, the hostess led me to my table and I sat down.
"If a guy comes looking for me, please tell him I'm not here." I said as I gave her five dollars. She nodded and went back to her post.
After I ordered, I went straight to the bathroom.
Knowing him, he'd come to the restaurant, and ask if I was here.
I checked my phone. A ton of calls and texts from him. A few texts from the other guys.
I pressed my ear against the door and I heard his voice very faintly.
"Please? Have you seen a girl? Really long black hair, brown eyes, possibly looks upset?" He asked.
I prayed that the hostess will say no.
"Sorry, she's not here." She said and I heard no more noise.
I waited a few minutes until I walked outside. I texted Ashley.
Me: hey, at a pizza place right on sunset.
She wouldn't answer while driving.
I sat back at my table and ate the pizza left for me.
I checked all my social media.
Hayes had a little over a million on Twitter and Instagram. I didn't even bother to check his social media before all this.
How could I be so stupid sometimes?
Some of the posters said something about Vine, so I went on there and watched all of his.
They were funny, it could've cheered me up, but it didn't.
I saw Ashley come in, she sat down as I finished eating my pizza.
"What happened?"
"Ashley, did you even know that Nash and all of them are famous?" I said, she laughed.
"You figured it out the hard way." She said.
"What?"
"I met him at a meet up that I went to with my friend. What do you call it...Magcon? It was fun and all, he took me to some events. That was when they didn't want to do it anymore. It was some time in April when they decided to leave Magcon." She said. She knew?
But April? The day Hayes came into my room and I had to comfort him?
**flashback**
Hayes barged into my room with wet eyes and a red face.
"Hayes, are you alright?" I asked, and made him sit down on my bed.
He shook his head as he sat in front of me and sighed.
"My family was just into a fight." He said and I pulled him into a hug.
His family? His Magcon family?
"What would you do if I was in jail?" Hayes asked and I laughed.
"What kind of question is that?" I said.
"I'm just curious." He said.
"Don't go killing people or anything. But I'd probably try and bail you out like last time." I said.
"But what would your reaction be?" He asked.
"I'd cry or something." I shrugged.
"Be serious. What if I went away and didn't come back?" He asked.
"Is there any particular reason why you're asking me depressing questions?" I asked.
"No. I'm curious."
"I see."
"So, what would be your reaction?" He asked.
"It'd be like your reaction if you saw me kiss another guy, or something." I said as he turned off the tv.
*end of flashback*
What if I went away and didn't come back? Was he talking about touring?
"You knew." I shook my head.
"I wanted to tell you so bad, I know I couldn't." She said.
"Can I just leave?" I asked, and she nodded. I got in her car and went back to her house.
I played every song in the "Everything I should've said" playlist.
The first song, Ordinary Human.
I think that he put that song on here because Hayes just wants to be a normal person, not famous.
The next song, Pressure.
There's so much pressure on him. He wanted to tell me but he couldn't.
I think that's what upset me the most.
He could've told me, but he chose not to.
I grabbed my laptop, and printed out tickets.
I wanted to go back to New York.
I started to pack and I put everything in there. Which included the box of photos that I had to do for photography, which I never handed back in.
I grabbed my bag and my ticket. I walked out of my room silently. I almost made it out of the house.
"Juliet?" Matt called behind me.
I turned around. I think he was about to cry.
"Matt I have to go." I said.
"I'm coming with you." He sobbed.
"No, please." I said. He nodded, and finally let the tears fall. He hugged me.
"I'm so sorry." He said, which was making me cry even more.
"Matt, I'm sorry but please let go of me." I said as I stepped out of his reach.
"Can I come with you?" He asked.
"M-matt, I-" I stopped.
Matt grabbed a duffel bag next to me, maybe he was already planning on going.
We went out the door together in silence. We got inside a cab and it drove us to the airport. Going through security was not easy because the lines were always so long.
Matt and I waited at the terminal.
"This is just like New York. Isn't it?" Matt said.
"I guess it is." I said.
We sat in an awkward silence, but we were both listening to music.
"Were you planning to tell me?" I asked.
"Multiple times. I was always pissed because I couldn't tell you. You're my best friend, I should've told you." He said.
"Carter made the situation ten times harder. He said it was a bet and everything. He even explained this in front of the fans too." I said.
"That was a dick move, they all should've at least told you after the event." Matt said.
"Yeah and now it's all over social media. I can't handle this." I said.
Just imagine what Hayes is going through.
Having a girlfriend for a while, hiding it from the fans.
If I were a fan, I'd be pissed. But I'm not a fan and I still feel the same.
Hayes followed me on Twitter and Instagram.
I decided I should tell everyone.
julietcollins87: "all the rumors are true. I'm sorry for everyone who witnessed it" I tweeted.
Hayes was probably indirecting me. I didn't care.
"Flight 83 LA to New York." The loud speaker said.
"Flights to LA trips to Paris.." Matt sang.
"What?" I said, as we both got up and walked to the tunnel.
"It's a song." Matt said as we entered the plane.
We got in our seats. After that, the pilot started speaking and we took off.
It wasn't a long flight.
We exited out of JFK airport and we got a taxi back to my apartment.
My old apartment. It's been a while since I've been there.
I put my stuff down. Matt went into his apartment and laid on his couch.
"I forgot how comfy this couch was!" He yelled.
"I forgot how small this apartment was." I laughed.
"We should shop for food." Matt said.
I agreed, I grabbed some spare money and we walked out the door.
We went to the closest super market, which was a Walmart.
We grabbed a shopping cart and we instantly grabbed cookies and ice cream. We grabbed more food and we went to the cashier.
That was when I saw him.
"Hayes.." I said, my tone was bitter but my intention was sadness.
He started walking over to me, and he hugged me.
I didn't let go, but I didn't hug back.
"I was so worried you were hurt or kidnapped or something." He rubbed my back.
Now he cares?
"Are you okay?" He asked. After a long moment, I nodded.
"I'm fine I-"
I heard something click behind me, and a cold mental was pressed against my back.
"Turn around." Someone said.
The voice was familiar, like it always seems it is.
I turned around.
Hazel eyes, brown hair.
He was wearing a mask but I recognized him.
He was holding a gun to my head.
"Teo, you don't have to do this." I said.
"Y-You took him away." He said, the gun was shaking out of nervousness.
"I thought you were on my side." I said.
"Why would I be on your side?" He spat.
What worries me most was that he was still holding the gun.
"You don't have to do this." Tears were falling down my cheeks.
People were running franticly around me.
"You took him away from me." He repeated.
"You took my dad away from me! Why does this make a difference?" I basically yelled.
"Your dad is dead. I can't see my dad, I don't remember my mom, and now I'm going to a new home. Do you think this is easy for me too? You left me for him." He pointed the gun at Hayes.
Hayes moved closer to me, but he was still a good distance away.
Teo's finger rested on the trigger.
"No!" Hayes yelled, as I heard a gun shot.
I saw Hayes running from the corner of my eye. He jump in front of me.
He saved me from the bullet.
Did he save himself?
Police sirens was all I heard.
Just like waking up in the morning.
