(Chae pov)

The house was currently quiet at this hour. Early afternoon of a seemingly relaxing day.

No creaking of the walls or floors. No buzzing of the appliances. Even the dishwasher was silent after just being used.

The only sounds admitting from anything was the sounds of Lisa and her kisses.

Lisa was stationed between her legs. The Thai's hands on her waist and neck as she laid on top of her, kissing.

Chaeyoung pulled on Lisa's bottom lip a bit, making her girlfriend smile. The back of her neck was gripped a bit tighter as their tongues danced.

Lisa trailing wet kisses down to her breasts. Sucking on the skin between them as best as she could before Chaeyoung's top got in the way.

Her girlfriend was about to remove it when footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs.

Both of them laid frozen for a second before Lisa hopped up and sat down next to her. Chaeyoung throwing her legs over Lisa's lap and trying to act normal.

"Hey mom. You're up early." Lisa spoke, breathing a bit more than she should between each word.

"Hello girls." Ami smiled, rubbing her head. "I'm planning on going back to sleep in a bit. I was just having trouble staying asleep."

"How come?"

"Was just thinking about my daughter... and daughter in law." She spoke, taking a seat on the other side of the couch.

Chaeyoung sat upright, Lisa scooting over to her and putting a hand on her thigh.

She chuckled looking at Lis, because she seemed to be the one who was more nervous. Chaeyoung leaned in and pecked her cheek. For reassurance.

"So, these past several days you guys seemed pretty distant." Ami began, watching them. "At least, from being all romantic."

"Yeah. We kind of were." She smiled. "Lis made me a little mad?"

"Hm. Not surprised." Ami laughed. "She is my daughter."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Lisa whined.

"That you can make people mad." Ami chuckled some more. "Easily."

"Wow. Thanks."

Chaeyoung found herself giggling too. Lisa gripping her thigh and making a sad face at her.

"Baby, you know we still love you." She assured her.

"Sure..." Lisa spoke, rolling her eyes.

"Of course we love you Lis." Ami smiled. "And I love that you two are together. I've noticed you being even more chipper, if that's even possible. My daughter, putting her mind to something and holding onto it. Even if that something is helping a girl who no one cared to."

Lisa and her both watched Ami. Chaeyoung gulping and blinking several times as she listened.

"And the girl who thought she was alone, realizing she wasn't. Realizing that she is strong, from the help of a daughter who wouldn't stop bothering her mother about her."

Chaeyoung smiled and looked to Lisa. Lisa was smiling too, looking at her hand.

The hand that was on her.

"You have both grown so much in this short amount of time. You guys have both had to mature faster than most. But, you're both still very young." Ami spoke quietly. "Roseanne, how old are you?"

"Seventeen." She whispered, knowing Ami already knew her age.

"And Lisa, remind me yours?"

"Seventeen." Lisa replied, looking to her mother. "Mom, why are you asking?"

"Whose older?" Ami continued. "When's your birthdays? I've forgotten."

Lisa turned and looked at her now. There was a quietness that Chaeyoung didn't really like.

"Um, I was born on March twenty-seventh." Lisa spoke.

"And you Chae?" Lisa's mom asked softly.

She looked down and sighed. Her birthday.

That damned day.

A day, that wasn't too far away. If she remembers correctly.

"Mom, does this really matter?" Lisa quickly commented, staring at Ami. "She doesn't have to answer."

"Lisa, I would like to know her birthday."

"But you already know it." The Thai whispered under her breath.

Chaeyoung looked to Lisa with a questionable face. "She does?"

Her eyes glanced back and forth from her girlfriend and Ami. Already feeling like she knew the answer.

Of course Ami would know. She was her nurse, it was her job to know.

But... does that mean Ami knows... about what happened?

"Chaeyoung's older, but only by a month. You guys are so similar to each other yet so different." Ami said, trying to take the conversation back into her hands. "You're the same height, the same age. You're both foreigners, have different languages as your firsts."

"Mom..." Lisa went to interrupt but Ami kept going.

"Yet, you both come from different worlds. Come from different pasts." Ami smiled. "Lisa, you used to have nightmares nearly every night when you were young. You'd come crying to me in the night and end up sleeping beside me and your step father."

"Chaeyoung." Ami smiled to her. "You had a past that was too cruel to you when you first came here. But it has only made you stronger. Look at you now, you're so brave. And might I say, happier."

"Mom, where are you going with this?" Lisa asked her lightly.

"You guys are practically perfect for each other. But you're still growing. You're still learning life. I'm happy you guys work things out together. And can forgive. But, being seventeen, I'm sure there's more things for you two to do together." Ami smiled with a sigh.

"Go on dates. Tell each other secrets. Share your past, which is what you should be doing every evening little miss." Ami pointed to her. Chaeyoung nodding. "Don't waste your time having make up sex."

"Mom, god." Lisa groaned, covering her face. Chaeyoung laughing and covering her mouth.

"That's right Lis. I can say the word sex." Ami chuckled. "I walked in and was horrified, don't you forget."

"Mom, we are doing other things..."

"Oh really? Because I'm pretty sure I've heard you guys a little more than I should doing only that thing."

Lisa and Chaeyoung both blushed and looked down. Knowing they did do it quite a bit.

"Girls, you're both seventeen. February and March babies. I want you guys to explore new places, try new things. Not each other. Not everyday. I understand you're growing up, and maturing, but can we please keep the sex to a healthy once or twice a week? Not once or twice every few hours?"

"Okay we do not do it that much." Lisa whined.

"Sure feels like it..."

"We can do that." She spoke quietly. Lisa and Ami both looking at her. "We do enjoy it, more than we probably should. But it's because we love each other."

"I know Chae. I know exactly how you two feel." Ami smiled. "That's all. That's my speech. And I didn't mean to bring up the birthdays to upset or making you uncomfortable Roseanne. I just want to open the window of opportunity to tell us more about yourself."

Chaeyoung nodded and bit her lip. She did want to tell them more, but it was still so hard. "Um, how long... are you going to be up?" She asked, looking at Ami.

"I can spare another hour or so before needing a little more sleep."

"I'm... g-going to take my meds. I'll be right back." She went to get up, but Lisa held her arm.

She looked at her and furrowed her brows.

"Are you sure you want to? Now?" Lisa questioned her softly. Rubbing her arm with her thumb.

Chaeyoung gulped and looked from Lisa's soft eyes, to Ami's.

Ami, her nurse, her hopefully mother in law to be.

The woman who just sat them down and told them how she felt. Someone who lived without her husband so he could be the best him he could.

Chaeyoung owed it to Lisa, but damn did she owe it to her.

"Yeah. I just need my medication." She replied. Getting up and walking into the kitchen. She opened the drawers and took out everything. Downing her couple pills and taking the needle up in her hand.

"Need any help?" Lisa questioned her, getting up off the couch.

"No, I-I'm good." Chaeyoung smiled, secretly hating herself for still stuttering when she gets herself worked up.

She held up her arm, and took the injection. Waiting a second before putting everything away.

Standing at the kitchen counter, trying to slow her quick beating heart as she closed her eyes and breathed.

Was she ready to do this?

No, no she wasn't.

But she was?

Chaeyoung was starting to get herself worked up again. But she felt two arms around her and opened her eyes. Lisa, pecking her forehead before holding onto her tighter.

"It's okay, mom can go back to bed. We can just rest today."

"No, I... I want her to know." She whispered. "I want you to know."

"It's okay baby."

"No Lis. I'll never be okay." She stated, slipping out of Lisa's hug and looking at Ami who was watching them quietly. "Not until I tell someone. Not until I say everything."

"If you feel like you're ready. Then we are ready to Listen." Ami spoke. "But take your time Chae."

"I... I'm not ready. But at the same time... I think I am."

Lisa slipped a hand into hers and squeezed it. She looked to Lisa and smiled sadly. "Ami inspired me." She told her, looking to Ami after. "You inspired me."

Ami gave her a warm smile. Roseanne feeling herself calm down more seeing it. She walked slowly over with Lisa.

Sitting down and pointing at the spot next to Ami. Lisa pecking her cheek and walking over to it. Taking up the seat and looking to her.

"Um... as you can probably assume. I have never told anyone about this." She started. "I may cry, or have a memory if my meds don't kick in soon enough. But, I'll be okay. Just let me... um..."

"Take your time? We will wait patiently, while you take your time." Ami spoke. Lisa nodding and holding her mother's hand. Both of them watching her intently with soft smiles.

Chaeyoung smiled and closed her eyes again. Taking in a deep breath.

"A month before I moved to South Korea, my dad got a call about a position in the company opening up in one of their new buildings here." She started. Remembering the time her dad told her about the situation.

"It was a relatively new branch still. And the company he worked for was still trying to gather more Korean speaking employees to fill it. So, with the pay raise and promotion, he couldn't refuse."

Lisa and Ami nodded. Chaeyoung continuing after taking in another breath.

"He asked us how we'd feel about moving here. My sister and I not really wanting to leave our friends. But, if dad wanted to start a new life here, we weren't going to let him go alone."

"So we moved. A month later." Chaeyoung shrugged. Her smile fading. "It took us about a week to unpack. And by that time, my birthday was only a few days away."

"I was going to be turning fifteen in a new country. One where, thanks to my dad and mom, I could speak fairly fluent Korean in. It just, didn't feel right. Like, I should have just stayed in Australia."

She sighed. "I should have listened to that feeling." Chaeyoung closed her eyes and felt a tug on her mind. The empty blanket being grabbed and pulled at by a thin line, reeled in and becoming vibrant.

A memory forming. She didn't stop it, instead, Roseanne let it happen. Continuing to speak as it played out. Telling her story to them, as her mind retold it to her.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

Chaeyoung flinched at the sudden yell as she entered through the front door with her older sister Alice.

Her parents shot confetti at her and laughed. Chaeyoung's face lit up as she looked around at all the decorations and balloons.

"When my birthday arrived, Alice took me to the mall to pick out a gift with her. When we returned home, my parents had surprised me." She spoke.

"Is there anything you want to do for your birthday?" Alice asked from across the table.

Chaeyoung thought hard for a moment. "Can we go to that one karaoke place we saw?"

"Karaoke place?" Their mom asked. "Isn't it a little late for that?"

"Oh those places are always open late honey." Her dad smiled. "I'll take you Rosie. Anyone else joining us?"

"I'll go. I think it'll be fun." Alice grinned. "I bet on Roseanne singing Beyoncé."

"No one would bet against it." Their dad laughed. "What about you honey? Going to go?"

"During dinner, my sister asked me if there was anything I wanted to do. Me, being me... wanted to sing at a karaoke place I saw when driving around South Korea for the first time."

Chaeyoung looked to her mother with a smile.

"Oh I don't know. Maybe not this time. You know I'm not a night person. I'll just clean the house while you guys are gone."

"My mom decided not to go. At the time I wasn't sure why. But later, she told me that she too had one of those... feelings. One, I wish I would have had that night too."

Ami was still smiling, or trying to keep. But Lisa, looked scared? Chaeyoung wishing she had a smile too, but knew even if Lisa did, It wouldn't help.

"So, after dinner, my dad, sister, and I made our way to karaoke. It wasn't too far, and I actually had a lot of fun while we were there." She spoke, smiling a bit at the memory she was having as it flashed.

"They're not going to have it Roseanne." Alice chuckled.

"But I love it! They have to!" She smacked the machine flustered. Still looking through the song titles. Wanting to sing the theme song to her favorite show badly.

"Just chose another Rosie. I'm sure you'll enjoy it just as much." Her dad patted her back with a smile. "We'll have to get going home soon anyways. Don't want to waste your remaining singing time now do you?"

"No... I don't." She sighed. Starting to look at the other songs to see if one sparked her interest.

"Well, who said we needed music?" Alice suddenly spoke before standing up and taking a mic off its stand. Hitting a button labeled 'freestyle' in Korean.

Music came onn but Alice immediately muting it and starting to sing. "I've got a special power, that I'm not afraid to use. Every waking hour, I discover something new."

Chaeyoung smiled brightly and grabbed the second mic jumping around and singing along. "So come on this is my adventure. This is my fantasy. It's all about living in the ocean being wild and free!"

"Coz I'm no ordinary girl, I'm from the deep blue underworld. Land or sea, I've got the power if I just believe!" They sang together.

"Coz I'm no ordinary girl, I'm from the deep blue underworld. Land or sea, the world's my oyster, I'm the pearl. No ordinary girl."

"We sang songs that were either on the machine or weren't. All of us laughing and enjoying our time until it got pretty late." She continued, her heart already starting to beat faster.

"Alright girlies, we should be heading back. Mom is probably worried." Her dad spoke, picking up his wallet and keys.

"Awe but it's only eleven thirty..." She whined. Wanting to sing another.

"Only eleven thirty? Kiddo... you're still young. It's late. Let's head back okay?"

"Okay..." Chaeyoung pouted. Following her father and sister out to their car.

"You know, you can ride in the front seat if you want Rosie." Alice spoke. "I don't mind. And besides, it's your birthday."

Roseanne smiled and looked to the passenger seat. It was always either her mother's or sisters spot. But, now she finally had the chance to ride in it.

But as she stared, the more different it felt. The more... wrong. It was her sister's seat. Even if it was her birthday, Alice was still older.

She deserved it.

That was the reason... right?

"Um, when it was time to go. My sister told me I could sit in the passenger seat. Since it was my birthday after all..."

Her eyes began filling with tears. Chaeyoung having an unknown breakdown. Since she was doing so good until now.

"I... I said no." She cried. "That... response killed my sister."

"Baby..." Lisa spoke. Chaeyoung ignoring her. Clenching her eyes shut.

"When we started the drive home, we didn't make it far... before we were rear ended."

Chaeyoung's head flew forward as their car was crashed into, sending them flying out and into the center of the intersection.

"The crash made us go out into the intersection, but luckily, since it was late, there was only a couple other cars on the road. Who avoided us with no problem."

Chaeyoung choked on her breath and held in a sob. Her fathers face appearing in her mind. "W-We didn't know if the guy who hit us was drunk or not. We never even got the chance to see why they hit us."

"We should get out of the roa-" he suddenly stopped talking as Chaeyoung noticed the bright lights appearing on his face.

"I remember seeing lights on my fathers face, while he was talking to us." She cried, opening her eyes to them.

Ami and Lisa both had tears in their eyes.

"Girls... I love you." He spoke.

"My dad said that he loved us." She smiled sadly. Her eyes stinging from her salty tears. "That was the last thing my father said to me. I love you."

"A-" She cried, closing her eyes again. Hearing her scream echo through her mind. Watching the scene of their car flipping and landing upside in her head.

"A semi t-truck didn't see us in time." She sobbed. "I... I don't know if h-he was drunk or high or just paying attention to the green light... But he hit us so hard we flipped through the air and l-landed upside down."

"Dad?..." she cried. "Dad?... Alice?..." Chaeyoung questioned them more, her tears sliding up before dropping off her forehead onto the roof.

"They wouldn't answer me..." Chaeyoung put her hands over her mouth. Crying hard into them. Letting it out before attempting to continue. "I was a-awake for the whole thing... but neither of them were. I w-was left bleeding and crying upside down. Scared and alone. "

The memories in her mind beginning to fade in color. Turning black and white as her medication tried to take them away.

"I thought of Alice... B-Because she was at the door the semi hit."

"A-Alice?..." She called again. "Alice?!" She could only see her arm as the chair in front of Chaeyoung blocked most of her view.

"But I couldn't see her. Because of her chair being in my way." She cried." And my head was too busy spinning while I lost my vision a lot and kept passing out."

Chaeyoung started to cry hard again, suddenly coughing and watching as dark red liquid came out of her mouth and coated the roof.

Her eyes widened as she gulped.

Was she dying?

"My stomach hurt really bad. My father and sister never answered me. One of the last things I can remember being the sound of sirens in the distance... and blood... blood, every time I coughed."

She opened her eyes and stared at them. Lisa and Ami were holding hands. Both crying along with her. Chaeyoung gulped and felt her stomach where it hurt.

"I... I told you that I died Lisa." She spoke, wiping her tears as she looked at her love. "That's when I did..."

"Chaeyoung..." Ami spoke quietly. "You..."

"Internal bleeding... It killed me... for nine minutes and thirty-one seconds... give or take." She chuckled lightly. Her tears coming back a bit.

"The next time I woke up... I was in a hospital. The date... not being anywhere close to February eleventh." She looked down, picking at her nails. "I..."

A black and white memory appeared again. It not being as vivid and clear as her others. More grainy and faded. Like it was struggling to manifest.

Roseanne woke up slowly. Her eyelids lifting with an overwhelming heaviness feeling as she tried moving her body.

Pain immediately stinging her side and causing her to groan.

She became scared, not recognizing her surroundings. Immediately wanting to cry as she moved her arms to try to lift her out of the bed.

The pain in her stomach and torso hurting more. Her legs feeling like jello with slight pain as well.

Her hand hit something in her failed attempt to move. Her heart beating rapidly as she looked at the button that now glowed.

She heard footsteps coming towards her. Chaeyoung immediately looking to the door and speaking as it opened.

"Dad?"

"Chaeyoung?" The woman spoke. Roseanne suddenly becoming very nervous as she looked at the woman. "Oh my... you're awake..."

"W-Where's my d-dad? My sister?"

"Chaeyoung, everything's going to be okay." She spoke getting closer.

"Where's my family!" She cried.

"I'm your nurse, you can call me Dasom if you'd like."

"I don't care." She sobbed. "I'm scared."

"I'm sorry Chaeyoung. I know it's scary. I'm going to get the doctor okay? I'll be right back." She spoke softly. Roseanne noticing the tears in the woman's eyes.

"I remember a nurse greeting me... I was scared and could barely move. The next person who came in was the doctor. He... told me everything. E-Everything that broke me."

"Chaeyoung? I'm Doctor Han. I'm very pleased to see you awake."

Roseanne just stared at him. Not knowing what to say or do.

"I'm the one who operated on you when you were brought into our hospital." He spoke, walking over to her and looking at the screen next to her.

Reading over her chart before sitting down beside her. "How do you feel?"

"Where's my sister? Alice? Where's my dad?"

"Chaeyoung, how do you feel?"

"My stomach and chest hurts. Where's my family?" She cried. Looking to the door.

"They aren't here at the moment. Your mom has been called. She'll come here soon to see you."

"I want to see my dad and sister! Please sir."

Doctor Han sighed and reached for her hand. Chaeyoung pulling it away and noticing the bandages covering it and her arm. Staring at the Doctor with a whole new look of fear and confusion.

"I'm sorry Chaeyoung." He spoke, looking down. "But your father and sister... they didn't make it."

"The doctor who saved me. Doctor Han... he told me they had died. Then... he told me that I died too." Chaeyoung chuckled and shook her head.

"He said I was so lucky... so lucky to be told half of your family was dead and you should have been too except for some magical reason... you weren't."

"I'm sorry." He sighed, looking up to her.

"W-What?"

"Your father and sister, they passed away."

"You're lying!"

"Chaeyoung... I kn-"

"Where are they?! I want to see them!"

"Your mother has already collected the bodies Chaeyoung. They're gone. I'm sorry."

Roseanne felt the worst pain she had ever felt. Her heart, ripping to pieces as she sobbed in the white room.

The doctor, sitting there beside her, patiently letting her cry.

"I know how hard it is Chaeyoung. To loose a loved one. I can't even imagine loosing two. But it will be okay."

"W-Why did t-they have to die? Why d-didn't I?" She cried. Her tears falling onto the bed and slowly fading.

"Chaeyoung... you... you did. You weren't breathing, when the paramedics arrived..."

She stopped crying. Looking to the doctor and watching him. No words coming out of her mouth. Her mind racing.

"Do you understand what I'm telling you? Chaeyoung? Your heart stopped beating..."

"I d-died?"

"Yes, you did. For approximately nine minutes."

"I-I couldn't have died... I was awake... I r-remember."

"You were awake before or during the crash, that I don't doubt. But you were not awake when they got there... You were pronounced dead at the scene."

"Then how am I alive!?" She yelled. Holding the sheets tight in her hands.

"I... I can't tell you that. Because I don't know. They spent minutes trying to bring you back. Bring each of you back. But, there was nothing. From any of you."

"All I know." He spoke, reaching for her hand again. "Is right before you arrived here, the machine attached to you in the back of that ambulance beeped, after it found a pulse."

She looked down at his hand as it now held hers. Not completely understanding what he was saying.

"You're so lucky to have found the light again. You... came back to life. All on your own. Let it be God or an angel, but you came back. And you lived, long enough for me to stitch you up."

"I guess... the attempts to bring me back failed. The medics t-tried to save each of us, but we were all d-... dead."

"They were still bringing us to the hospital." She continued. "Just in case. And the machine they had attached to my arm beeped. Meaning that I was breathing... when, they were no longer trying to resuscitate me."

"You came back to life?" Ami asked quietly. "You came back after they stopped trying to save you?"

"Yeah mom. I did." She whispered as she wiped her tears away and looked to her. Noticing that Lisa was sobbing into her knees that were pulled up to her face.

Her heart breaking a bit.

"I..." She began, changing her mind on talking anymore about the hospital. Skipping to her home life instead. "When my mom finally visited me, she didn't look at me."

"For the next several months of rehabilitation, living at home, dinners and school drop offs, she never looked at me." Chaeyoung watched as Lisa looked up to her.

She held her arms out and Lisa got up slowly, walking over to her and sitting down next her. Holding onto her and crying more in the embrace.

Chaeyoung rubbed her back and continued speaking to Ami. "It was like I lost my entire family. My mom, ignoring me, running out of money since my dads work didn't want to cover anything. Claiming dads insurance wasn't filled out properly."

"My mom never told me she blamed me, not face to face. But I would hear her talking about me. Would see it in her eyes." She cried a bit, remembering her mother who used to love her.

"Alice was always her favorite. My dad, her high school sweetheart. I took everything from her. And from it, took everything from me."

"Chaeyoung, it w-wasn't your fault." Ami cried lightly. Wiping her eyes.

"I know mom. I know that now..." She felt Lisa peck her neck. Her shoulder still wet from her girlfriend's tears. "Lisa showed me."

"I just..." She sighed. "I just didn't know it then. I got into drugs because I wanted a way out. A way to heal myself. Missing the pills I'd take for my broken body. Wanting them, to help heal me more."

They all sat the quietly, Chaeyoung taking a moment to breathe.

"Don't cry Ami." She spoke. "And it's okay baby." She ran her fingers through Lisa's hair. "I may have wanted to die again... but the second I met you all. I was happy to have lived."

Lisa pulled her head out from being nestled in her shoulder. Ami sniffing and looking at her from across the couch.

Chaeyoung smiling, and kissing her girlfriend's lips before waving Ami over. Her new mother walking to her and kneeling down.

She put out her free arm and held onto Ami as she entered her embrace. The three of them sharing a hug just like the first night Chaeyoung had ever been in their home.

"No matter the ups or downs. No matter how much I want a cigarette or to see my family again. I couldn't have asked to end up in a better place. Because a better place doesn't exist..."

Chaeyoung felt her tears hit her cheeks again as she held onto them and spoke. "I'm home. After all these years, I'm finally home."

(Lisa pov)

She felt her breath hitch as she began sobbing again. Lisa holding onto Roseanne for dear life as she still took time to processed everything.

Her baby, coming back to life all on her own, after people lost hope in reviving her.

Rosie staying in this world after experiencing something like that. Something so traumatic and life changing.

"Where is this woman?" Her mother spoke quietly. Lisa lifting her head up and looking at her along with Chaeyoung.

"Who? My... mother?" Chae questioned.

"Yes."

"I... don't know. I came home from school one day... and she had found my drugs." Chaeyoung spoke, looking from Ami to her. Sighing. "She, kicked me out shortly after."

"After finally telling me everything she'd been feeling. All her pain and depression caused by me. Her hatred... for me." Roseanne looked down. Lisa kissing her forehead and embracing her tighter.

Rosie moved from hugging her mom and just hugging her back. Crawling into her lap. Lisa kissing her cheek and neck, cradling her.

"Well shit, doesn't look like I'm going back to sleep."

"Mom! Oh my God!" She exclaimed. Flabbergasted by her mothers use of words.

"What? Your mom can't say shit?"

Chaeyoung chuckled in her embrace. Lisa shaking her head, blinking. "No! Language!"

"Lisa stop. You have sex for Christ's sake."

Lisa shook her head again in disbelief. Watching as her mom stood up and went into the kitchen. Taking out pans and ingredients.

"What are you doing?" Chaeyoung questioned her, looking to Ami as Lisa still sat there shocked. Chaeyoung shifting her weight in her lap.

"Cookies." Her mom replied. "We're going to eat a SHIT ton of cookies."

Chaeyoung smiled and stood up. "Hell yeah!" She spoke, looking down to her. Lisa staring, mouth agape as Chae chuckled.

"Come on Lis. Let's help. I want to keep my mind off things."

"I..."

"Lisaaa. It's just words. Come on."

"It's... I..."

Chaeyoung grabbed her hands and lifted her up. Lisa looking to her mom who was wiping some loose tears while smiling the best she could.

"Say it." Rosie whispered.

"Say what?"

"Shit."

"No!"

"Why not?"

"It's a bad word." Lisa whispered back.

"I know you've said it before..."

"On accident."

"Come on baby." Roseanne spoke, stepping closer. Hovering by her ear. "Say it." She said, directly into her ear before licking it, slowly.

"Oh... mother of..." Lisa began. Chaeyoung nibbling on it and putting a hand on her thigh. "Shit."

~

Chaeyoung straddled her lap as Lisa kissed her jawline. Feeling her girlfriend's waist as her mother slept on the couch above them.

Lisa's back to it as they sat on the ground. Chaeyoung bringing her lips down to meet hers. Lisa taking them up and and slipping her tongue in.

Playing with Roseanne's as she raised her hands up and down the Australians sides.

"Your mom is going to wake up you know." Rosie whispered to her as they pulled on each other's lips. "Didn't she just tell us not to do this?"

"We aren't having sex." She replied. Pecking her lips.

"Your mother almost caught us kissing like this earlier. Now she's napping right beside us."

"Her fault for falling asleep after cookies."

"I should wash the plates." Roseanne spoke, looking up at the dining room table.

"How about no." Lisa chuckled. "You're not going to go wash plates after everything that's happened."

"Excuse me? I can wash plates if I want."

"Oh the sass is strong with this one." She smirked. Doing her best yoda impression.

"Star Wars?"

"Yup!"

"That was terrible."

"The impression or the movie?"

"You decide."

Lisa smiled and leaned back in. Kissing Roseanne again. Feeling her hips start to move before they stopped abruptly.

"No, I'll go wash the plates."

Chaeyoung got up and out of her lap before she could abject. Lisa groaning and standing up.

"She's a good girl."

Lisa flinched and looked down at her mother who was smiling with her eyes still closed.

"You're awake?" Lisa spoke quietly.

"Yes. It's hard to sleep with two teenagers making out beside me." Her mom chuckled lightly. "Now go help your girlfriend and don't get her pregnant."

Lisa sighed and bent down. Pecking her mom on the forehead before trudging into the kitchen.

"Why the long face long legs?"

She chuckled and shook her head at Chaeyoung's nickname. Reaching for a plate and stepping up to the sink next to her.

"Is it because I stopped kissing you?"

"No." Lisa smiled.

"Is it because I'm doing the house work?"

"No babe."

"Ah." Rosie gasped. "It's because I made you say shit!"

"No baby." She laughed. "It's because my mom's a major pain in the butt."

"Like her daughter."

"Touché."

"Touché Rosé."

Lisa smiled and looked at her. "Rosé?... I like it."

"Oh uh..." Chaeyoung blushed. "Um, it's just a stupid name."

"Not stupid. It suits you."

"I thought it could make a cool stage name you know. Like..." Roseanne held up a fork to her mouth and used it like a mic. "Next up, the hot new breakout artist, Rosé! Preforming her new hit single."

"Oh my god... you're so cute."

"No I'm not." Chaeyoung blushed more, looking away.

"Yeah, you are."

They shared another kiss before finishing up the dishes. Chaeyoung drying them after as Lisa covered her mom up with a blanket and whispering that they'd be in their room, not having sex.

Roseanne waited for her at the bottom of the steps, linking fingers with her as they climbed up to the top. Entering their room.

Lisa took out one of her study guides while Chaeyoung strummed her guitar, humming a tune.

"What song are you humming?" She questioned, recognizing it.

"It's nothing." Rosie smiled. Picking at the strings a bit more. A soft melody playing.

Lisa smiled and listened. Chaeyoung's playing mesmerizing her.

"Hey, I remember. It's coming home!" Lisa spoke chipperly. Forgetting all about studying. "It's supposed to be on piano... I think?"

"Yeah, but I don't have a piano." Chaeyoung giggled. "I have a guitar."

"Wait... you can play that too... right?" Lisa questioned. Remembering Yeri mentioning something about a piano to her.

When she first discovered Chaeyoung on that petition. And that she... was Roseanne. Her girlfriend, and her crush.

Suddenly, she remembered watching Roseanne play the piano too.

"Mhm."

"I need to buy a piano." Lisa whispered under her breath.

(Ami pov)

Ami woke up to the feeling of being wrapped in a hug. She opened her eyes to a small but tall framed girl. Smiling.

"Evening Roseanne." She spoke, hugging the blonde back.

"Evening mom."

"Waking me up?"

"Yeah... I think you have to get ready soon."

Ami looked at the clock on the wall and widened her eyes a bit. "Yeah, you're right." She chuckled. "Thank you sweetie."

"Of course."

She leaned down and kissed Chaeyoung's forehead. Embracing the girl for a bit longer. Appreciating her, for everything.

"Thank you."

"You already said thank you." Chae laughed lightly. A smile on her face.

"Not about waking me dear, about sharing your story with me. About taking your medicine and getting better."

"Anything... for my family."

Ami smiled and finally released the girl. Both of them sitting up and Chaeyoung walking into the kitchen as she stretched.

"Where's my daughter?" She asked, following Chaeyoung into the kitchen and letting her heart fill with warmth as Roseanne brought her a sandwich.

"She fell asleep. Much like her mom."

"Of course she would. Thank you." She stated. Receiving the sandwich and having a bite off it's edge.

"Stop saying thanks." Roseanne chuckled. "It's the least I can do."

Ami pulled her in for another hug before she finished her sandwich and went upstairs to change. Peeking into the girls room as she walked past it.

Smiling at Lisa who was passed out on a cleanly made bed. Letting her know, they in fact, did not have sex.

She felt proud and headed into her room. Changing into her scrubs and brushing her teeth and hair before making her way downstairs.

Telling Chaeyoung goodbye and hopping in her car, heading towards the hospital.

~

It wasn't far into her shift that Ami began thinking about Roseanne. Within these very same walls the young girl was brought in, only at age fifteen. And operated on for internal bleeding.

"Doctor Han." Ami spoke under breath as she went through the data base on her computer. Pulling up his information and looking it over.

"Oh, he's not that far."

"Who's not that far?"

Ami turned to her operations lead for the night and smiled. "Remember Doctor Han Woo-jin?"

"I do, very much so. He was a great doctor." The fairly young woman spoke.

"Well, he transferred to another hospital nearby and I was hoping to possibly visit him. Catch up on old patients."

"That so?"

"Yes." She smiled. Looking back to the computer and browsing any other information she could before clicking off the page and grabbing her chart. "I'll have to go while I'm off at some point."

"Or..." her lead spoke, reaching for her chart and looking her patients over. "You can see if any deliveries are being made from our hospital to his and do the delivery team a favor."

"Are... you serious?"

"Of course Ami. You're one of our best nurses. Who am I to deny colleges some time to catch up? Just clock out while you're gone, I'll handle your patients. Also if no deliveries are being made then just head out okay? It's alright."

"Thank you, but I don't even know if he'd be working this late."

"Then what are you doing Nurse Manoban? Give him a call." She smiled. "See you in a little while."

Ami gave her a bright smile and pulled Doctor Han's page back up. Ringing the work phone number listed.

After several rings, the phone line was interrupted. Ami smiling hearing the background noises and soft voice speak.

"Hello? This is Doctor Han."

"Doctor Han, it's Nurse Manoban. How are you?"

"Ami! Hello. It's a pleasure to hear from you. I'm well! How's the hospital?"

"As busy as ever. Department changes left and right." She chuckled. "Sorry to be calling you this late."

"Oh no, it's fine. I'm the graveyard shift anyways." He spoke happily. "I'm guessing the same for you?"

"Know me too well."

"Well what can I do for Nurse Ami this evening?" He questioned happily.

"I was wondering if I'd be able to stop by? There's an old patient of yours I'd like to chat with you about. If that's alright?"

"I'm guessing this patient is a current one of yours?"

"Kind of. It's a bit complicated. But I'd be more than happy to share."

"Alright. Well tell you what? You drop by anytime, and if I'm free, we can discuss this patient of ours then."

"You've got yourself a deal." Ami smiled. "Is tonight alright? My lead is allowing me the opportunity."

"Of course. Anytime like I said."

"Thank you Doctor Han. This means a lot to me."

"Of course."

"You don't know how much this means to me."

"It's nothing. Really. It's the least I can do for a veteran nurse like you." He chuckled. "You're a hardworking woman and deserve any extra bit of info I can deliver."

"You're too kind. I'll see you in a bit. And thank you again."

"Anytime. Goodbye."

"Goodbye." Ami replied. Hanging up the phone and smiling. She quickly made her way to her locker and grabbed her jacket and purse.

Punching out and walking through the warehouse before heading out to her car. Empty handed in terms of deliveries, yet full hearted with the hope of learning everything she can about that night.

About Chaeyoung.

Any part that the sweet and caring girl left out, Ami hoped to fill. With Doctor Hans help.
