Chapter 13

You watched the car drift away from the gate of your house where Jimin had just dropped you before leaving with the taxi that had brought you back home.

He had asked you for permission to leave as he needed to go home for something as he had told you and you of course had allowed him to go while hoping that nothing serious could have happened at his home.

After the yellow vehicle was out of sight, you approached the gate, waving at the camera so they would open up the door and as soon as they did you walked inside, knowing well that the workers inside might be already questioning your appearance and the reason why you hadn't returned with your driver.

As the thought passed by on your mind, you recalled that your driver wasn't aware of your secret outing and must probably be still waiting for you outside of the aquarium's building.

You quickly toom your phone out of your pocket and gave him a call, instructing him to come home without giving him any farther information about your whereabouts as it was non of his business. He had just to follow your orders and that's what he should be doing.

It took you some minutes to arrive at the main entrance where the usual two maids were standing, welcoming you as you stepped inside. You bowed your head at them a bit, not wanting to behave rudely as you never did with any worker.

"Is my husband perhaps home?" You asked them looking past your shoulder while waiting for their answer that as usual was negative.

You continued walking after that and went straight to your room where you left your body plop on your bed, tired but also smiling. After a long while a feeling had gotten born inside you that had made that smile possible to appear.

This day was so out of the ordinary days your life consisted off and even though nothing much had happened, the feeling of freedom and normality that gave you was something you truly needed and desired for a while now.

After her death it was as if you had died with her. Nothing was fun anymore, nothing could make you happy. Your life was never easy but your friend was what made it bareable and once she was gonna, it was like the world she was keeping colored for you, dripped in black. Your only friend was gone, the only person that could understand you and stayed with you because of who you really were. Not a proper lady, not for the surname that rested on your shoulders. Not for your family status. Not for the amount of money on your bank account. Not for the always well mannered behavior. She was your friend truly and you were the same for her.

Your psychology had dropped dramatically after her suicide and as the events of your life kept being hard on you, you had grow to forget that you could actually smile still. Who knew that such a simple day could be able to bring that smile that you thought as impossible to happen.

"sometimes people need just a push"

You remembered Jimin's words at the entrance of the aquarium and you understood that he was right. Without him there was no way you would ever dare to step out of your comfort zone and live for a day normally, as you did today.

I owe him a thank you apparently. I guess I am gonna make a friend after all.

You thought as you got up heading to take a shower and change your clothes because you had to attend dinner in some hours and Taeyong's mother wouldn't approve of such attire.

---time skip---

Jimin rung the doorbell of Namjoon twice before his friend finally opened up for him, facing a worried expression of his as he got inside and Namjoon closed the door behind him.

"Well, hello to you too." Namjoon spoke as he followed Jimin to his living room where he had entered and Jimin looked back at him apologizing.

"You look nervous." Namjoon commented as he stepped towards his kitchen to make him his preferred flavor of coffee, while Jimin took of his jacket and took a sit at his couch.

"Wouldn't you be if you were me?" His voice reached to Namjoon's ears as he was getting the mags ready and he gave it a thought before replying back.

"Honestly.. Nervous is not the word I am looking for to describe how i would be. Maybe.. Scared of what the heck i got myself into, would be a better saying for the situation." His words made Jimin leave a heavy exhale understanding that he is in trouble apparently.

He stood silent till Namjoon placed his cup of coffee in front of him on the wooden table and took a seat at the other couch, his arm extending behind the furniture to his desk that was right behind the couch and retrieving an envelope.

He left his cup of coffee down before opening the white envelope and extending it towards Jimin whom didn't hesitate to take hold of it, soon reading what it was about.

"This case came today. It's a grave assault. Choi Min Hee, former artist, cause of death suicide." Namjoon gave a brief explanation as Jimin's eyes were traveling the paper, soon landing on the foto of the victim that was unknown to him yet it felt as a familiar face.

" And how does this relate with Y/N and the reason of someone wanting her killed? "He questioned as he looked up at him and namjoon took a sip of his coffee before explaining to him.

" When i saw the picture i couldn't help but keep thinking that she was familiar and that was because i had seen her some days before when you told me to look up for your boss' wife." Jimin looked surprised at the information as his eyes returned to the picture of the young woman that was smiling.

" How is she related to Y/n?"

" The two were best friends since first grade as far as i looked up. Went to the same schools and were also desk mates till their high school years. They had a break of two year or so because the victim went to study abroad then she returned to Korea and finished her studies here together with Miss Y/N. They were inseparable and their families had good relationships. "Jimin listened carefully at Namjoon's words and tried to remember the information he shared and as he kept thinking about it, he guessed that maybe the reason why you seemed so gloomy might have to do with the death of a dear person as she seemed to be.

"So you are telling me that whoever has a grange against a dead person, enough to try to harm her even after her death, might be trying to not harm only her grave but the people that were important to her and are still alive?" Jimin expressed his thoughts out loud and Namjoon looked at him before shrugging his shoulders.

" It is a possibility. However whoever that person may be sure is crazy. I mean who would hate a dead person enough to want to harm people she loved even after her death." Namjoon's words left a hint to Jimin that he wasn't sure if this was actually the case however he couldn't think of any other reason.

What else could have happened? What could you have done that someone wants you dead?

After a moment of silence Jimin decided to address his friend asking him about his true thoughts, as he knew him well and he was extremely sharp so if he is doubting a scenario, that means that he had a more convincing one in mind.

"Choi Min Hee, died of suicide. As far as I looked up she seemed a happy person, positive, and had a career that was rising. Why would such a person kill herself?" Namjoon stated the question that had been bugging him from the moment he was searching up for the victim and somehow nothing connected with suicide. He had even went and found her case on the files of police, as her family had requested an investigation after their daughter's death.

The documents and the police reports that he read, all concluded that it was a suicide. However it was the simple fact that the victim lacked a motive to kill herself that was perplexing him.

"Are you implying that it wasn't suicide?" Jimin asked now shocked as this seems to be getting serious.

"If she was murdered then.. What was the reason? No one kills an innocent person just like that." Jimin argued as his mind was diving deeper and deeper in thoughts as seconds passed by.

"That's a question I can't answer yet. But here are my two options. One, whoever killed her is also trying to kill miss Y/N as they might have done something against this person together. Two.. Y/n knows who the killer is and he or she is trying to shut her mouth once and for all. "Namjoon displayed his thoughts as those were two options he had concluded, the second having a plot hole, as he couldn't think of a reason why you would keep something like that a secret to begin with.

Jimin stood quite as his mind started analyzing Namjoon's options, his eyes fixed on the steam that was flowing out of his still untouched cup of coffee.

"Whatever it is, you sure are right for one thing. This sure is something i should be scared to get involved with." He admitted as he finally reached his hand and took hold of the cup of coffee and brought it back to his lips.

"Does that mean that you are gonna quit your job and not get involved with any of this?" Namjoon asked him while looking at him, his eyes practically asking of him to do just that for his own good.

"I am sorry hyung." Was all he responded once he gulped down the warm liquid that had entered his mouth and Namjoon just smiled knowing well that he would never leave someone in danger just because it would bring trouble to him.

He was that kind of guy, he had that kind of soul however this time it wasn't only kindness the reason he wasn't willing to get away but also the arrangement he had with TaeYong and the money that he so much needed and there was no way he would leave without winning them.
