You had always been of a fan of music ever since you were small. Now, after years of lessons and practices, here you were, guitar in hand as you were ready to face a new challenge. Your band now going to different colleges. It was depressing to say the least as your friends all left you. But still, you were going into Beacon Academy, one of the most prosperous schools around you. You had attended to study musical theory and composition as you wanted to become the next famous musical in the nation.
You took in a deep breath and walked into the music hall of the school and got your equipment set up after finding your locker within the hall. You took in a deep breath and began to play your guitar. You had to admit, you weren't the best, but not the worse. You enjoyed what you did and through it, you believed yourself to be a better person for it.
???: Your guitar playing sucks.
You opened your eyes and saw a white hair girl standing before you.
(Y/N): Sorry...
Weiss: Weiss. And you need to learn to play better.
(Y/N): Well, that's why I'm here. And sorry, but I was in a band before I came here.
Weiss: Was is the key word there.
(Y/N): We broke up. We all went to different colleges.
Weiss: Did they all play just as bad as you?
(Y/N): You really are a wave of sunshine, you know that?
Weiss: And you need to play better.
You rolled your eyes and continued to play. Weiss scoffed you off and walked over to a piano and began to play as well. You stopped once you heard the piano keys. They were very well placed and well paced all together. You shook it off and went back to playing your own guitar and enjoyed the music together.
Weiss: Your guitar is ruining my piano.
(Y/N): Man! Is there anything you compliment?
Weiss: Yes. But only if you earn it.
You sighed and rolled your eyes. You played a bit more while also listening to Weiss' play of the piano. She continued to scold you and that got you beyond pissed and left the building. A day later classes began and you walked into the hall and got your things together. However, once you entered the classroom, you saw Weiss sitting next to the piano. She had a smile on her face until she saw you take your seat beside her.
Weiss: What are you doing here?! You can barely play!
(Y/N): First of all, I can play. Just not up to your standards, ok, princess. Secondly, I am here because I got into their program and I want to learn.
A teacher walks in and slams a book down on the desk.
Teacher: Now then. Welcome to Beacon Academy. Now, shall we begin today's lesson.
The class was pretty basic for today at least. You all played and were taught a bit for each of your instruments. That also seemed to have Weiss annoyed since the teacher openly praised you and your playing. Although, the teacher did say that you would need some improvement. Once classes were finished for today, you went back to the hall to practice.
When you did, you saw Weiss was sitting at her piano and singing a song you were all to familiar with. Greensleeves. So, you snuck around and grabbed an acoustic and sat down and waited for the right moment to play with her.
Weiss: (Singing) To cast me off discourteously;
And I have loved you oh so long
Delighting in your company.
(Y/N): Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves my heart of gold
Greensleeves was my heart of joy
And who but my lady Greensleeves.
Weiss: What are you doing?!
(Y/N): Singing Greensleeves and adding guitar into the mix.
Weiss: That wasn't even needed! You ruined it! (To herself) At least your singing is better than guitar.
(Y/N): Well, how would you play it?
Weiss: Come here.
You walked over to the piano and sat down beside her.
Weiss: Here. These should be the strings you are playing. Furthermore, do NOT sing when I do. Makes things into a jumbled mess. I take it you were vocals in that band you so loved to talk about?
(Y/N): Yeah. Well, we all could sing outside our drummer. So we had a lot of-
Weiss: Were you the lead or not?
(Y/N): Yes. I was.
Weiss: Ok. So, singing lessons should also be a priority for you. Now, shut up and listen.
(Y/N): Look, Weiss. I don't think this is-
Weiss: Shut up. You want to succeed, then do it right. Now, follow where I lead.
So, Weiss began to give you lessons day in and day out for guitar, piano and singing all together. She also took off time for your classes to train with her and keep you up to date on basically everything music related. One day, Weiss went out so you were left by yourself. You entered the hall, sat down and began to play.
You had to admit, you did sound better than you did entering college. You had no idea if it was basic classes or Weiss determined training but either way, you were very much surprised. You let the melody flow through you as basically every stroke and string came a new sense of wonder and purpose behind it. A few thoughts of Weiss peppered your brain as you could remember her helping you, taking time away from herself for your benefit. It honesty seemed heartbreaking to you.
So, against better judgement from yourself earlier that year, you decided to write something for Weiss. It wasn't a love song, God you both hated those. It was going to be slow. Then it hit you. It wouldn't be as sweet as making her something from scratch but you weren't aiming for sweet. You were aiming for something memorable. So, you began to practice on her signature instrument, that being the piano.
You stayed in that room for must have been several hours working on this thing. After what must have been at least six hours, you passed out and fell asleep on the piano. So, the next few days outside of practicing with Weiss and classes, you were working on this piece. On Saturday, you walked into the music hall and took a deep breath. You had contacted Weiss earlier that day and somehow got her to come on down to see you.
You practiced one last time and stopped once you heard the door open. You turned and saw Weiss walking up to you.
Weiss: Listen (Y/N), I dont have that much time. I have an exam on Monday I need to study for.
(Y/N): (Coughs) It wont be long. It's just a token of my thanks. (Singing) Alas my love you do me wrong
To cast me off discourteously;
And I have loved you oh so long
Delighting in your company.
Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves my heart of gold
Greensleeves was my heart of joy
And who but my lady Greensleeves.
I have been ready at your hand
To grant whatever thou would'st crave;
I have waged both life and land
Your love and goodwill for to have.
Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves my heart of gold
Greensleeves was my heart of joy
And who but my lady Greensleeves.
Thy petticoat of slender white
With gold embroidered gorgeously;
Thy petticoat of silk and white
And these I bought gladly.
Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves my heart of gold
Greensleeves was my heart of joy
And who but my lady Greensleeves.
You turned back to Weiss and saw a small blush on her face. However, she quickly shook her head and walked up to you.
Weiss: It was good. Could have used some work. Your eyes were good though.
(Y/N): (Sighs) Thanks...I guess.
Weiss then leaned in and pecked your cheek. A blush also grew on your face as you turned and face her.
Weiss: It was sweet. Thank you.
Weiss began to walk off.
(Y/N): Hey! (She turns to you) After that exam...coffee?
Weiss slowly grew a smile on her face.
Weiss: Sure.
So, she walked off. You just smiled and saw her depart. Who knew sucking at music would get you a girl.
