Door Just_a_Fangirl03

We snuck into Stiles window as he was studying something on his computer. I sat on his bed and Derek stood by his dresser drawer.

"Hey, Stiles!" His dad yelled and I froze.

Stiles turned. "Yo- Derek," He said, shocked to see Derek who had a finger to his lips and he pointed to his door motioning him to answer it.

Stiles shot up and looked behind and saw me and I smiled and he quickly answered the door holding it close to him.

It seemed like forever until Stiles stepped out of his room.

I looked at Derek wondering if he was telling his dad we were there, but when he entered and closed the door I thought otherwise.

Stiles sighed and leaned against the door and Derek grabbed him by the shirt and pushed him against the wall.

" If you say one word-" Derek started.

"Oh, what, you mean, Iike, "Hey, Dad, Derek Hale's in my room. Bring your gun"?" Derek's hold lightened a bit in hesitation.  "Yeah, that's right. If I'm harboring your fugitive butt, it's my house, my rules, buddy," he finished, smacking Derek's shoulder. I raised my eyebrows at Stiles' sudden boldness. Derek looked at his shoulder slowly and then back at Stiles. He let him go and fixed his shirt and then Stiles did the same.

Just as Stiles was about to move away Derek jerked his head in his face and Stiles jumped, still showing he feared him.

I covered the smile on my face and took a deep breath.

"Scott didn't get the necklace?" Derek asked.

"No. He's still working on it. But there's something else we can try. The night we were trapped at the school, Scott sent a text to Allison asking her to meet him there."

"So?"

"So it wasn't Scott."

"Well, can you find out who sent it?"

" No, not me. But I think I know somebody who can."

"You think?" I asked. "Are they trustworthy?"

"Ok, you two buddies can relax on the whole trust thing cause he won't know."

I raised my eyebrows and looked at Derek.

"What are you doing here anyway?" Stiles asked me.

I shrugged. "Sometimes I like seeing you and Derek get on each other's nerves."

"Nerves?"

I looked at one of his books. "Plus who do you think is stopping Derek from actually killing you?" I asked seriously, teasing him.

Stiles looked between the two of us and Derek's serious face made him turn back to his computer.

I smiled and shook my head. Stiles was too fun.

"How soon till your friend gets here?" I asked.

"Patience... I swear you and Derek can never wait."

"Maybe it's a werewolf thing."

"Maybe it's just-"

There was a knock on the door.

Stiles answered and a boy walked in.

I sat on Stiles bed again and Derek sat in his chair, grabbing a book and started flipping through pages.

"You read?" I whispered. He glanced at me.

"Yes I read."

I pushed on his arm and smiled. He looked at his arm and then back at me.

I raised my eyebrows at him, daring him to do something. He studied me and I kept eye contact.

"You want me to do what?" The boy asked, breaking our stare, causing me to look at him.

"Trace a text," Stiles answered.

"I came here to do lab work. That's what lab partners do."

"And we will, once you trace the text."

"And what makes you think I know how?"

"I I looked up your arrest report, so-"

"I was 13. They dropped the charges."

"Whatever."

"No, we're doing lab work."

Stiles clinched his pencil with a death grip. He pulled out his book and I rolled my eyes.

I nudged Derek who looked up at me and I pointed at a book and he handed it to me.

I flipped through the pages as the two worked on homework, discovering the boy was named Danny.

"Who are they again?" Danny asked, looking at us.

"Um, my cousin....Miguel," Stiles started, Derek glaring at him.

I was speechless.

"And uh... his sister... Selena... my other cousin, brother and sister, both my cousins."

"Is that blood on his shirt?"

I glanced at Derek's shirt and I didn't even notice it.

I looked at Derek, asking him with my face why he hadn't changed or even washed it.

"Yeah. Yes. Well, he gets these horrible nosebleeds. Hey, Miguel," Stiles spoke up, Derek glaring.  "I thought I told you you could borrow one of my shirts."

Derek slammed his book shut and took off his shirt.

I glanced up, no longer focusing on the book.

I watched as he grabbed a shirt.

"So anyway, I mean, we both know you have the skills to trace that text, -so we should probably -"

"Stiles?" Derek snapped.

" Yes?"

"This No fit," he tugged at the shirt and I bit my lip and cleared my throat and rubbed the back of my neck, glancing at my book for a second.

"Then try something else on. Sorry."

Derek put a striped shirt on that definitely wasn't his style.

"Hey, that one Iooks pretty good, huh?" Stiles started, smacking Danny's arm. "What do you think, Danny? -Huh? The shirt."

I looked at Danny and saw he was obviously just as distracted as I was by Derek's physique.

" It's It's not really his color," Danny answered.

Derek took the shirt off and I forced myself to focus on the book.

"You swing for a different team, but you still play ball, don't you, Danny Boy?" I heard Stiles whisper.

"You're a horrible person," Danny answered.

"I know. It keeps me awake at night. Anyway, about that text."

"Stiles! None of these fit," Derek said.

I got up at this point and gently touched his forearm.

Derek took a step back and I looked through the drawer. I found one Stile's bigger shirt that must've been a work shirt, or just one he didn't normally wear. It was plain gray but I handed it to Derek who through it on, it was a little tight but worked.

"I'll need the ISP, the phone number, and the exact time of the text."

I gently removed some lent off Derek's shoulder and he grabbed my hand.

I jumped and pulled back quickly.

I quickly sat down and bit my cheek. I felt Derek's stare on me but I didn't look.

"There. This text was sent from a computer," Danny said, and Derek walked over.

"This one. Registered to that account name?" Derek asked.

"No, no, no, no. That can't be right," Stiles said.

I cautiously kept my distance and saw on the computer the name.

Scott's mom.

Melissa McCall.
