I pulled into work which the only floral place in Beacon Hills.
I walked in and clocked in and started working on some arrangements that needed to be done for tomorrow.
"Did you enjoy the full moon?" Jessie, my coworker asked.
"What?" I asked, nervous.
How did Jessie know?
"You know? The full moon? Every one gets wasted and parties or just has a bad day, whichever."
"Oh... yeah... bad day, you could say that."
"Well next time hopefully you are busy partying."
"You know it's not really my thing."
"I know, but you need to lighten up, have some fun for once."
I placed a rose in the vase and shook my head.
"You need to meet someone," she said.
"I don't think guys particularly like my fear of being touched."
"Well those ones aren't the one."
I raised my eyebrows. "I'm not looking for anyone."
"Why? Everyone is longing for someone."
"I had people and they weren't the best, so being alone is actually better."
Jessie sighed. "Nobody likes being alone."
"I could name a few."
"Oh! Did you here Derek Hale is back?!" She said.
"Umm... I think I did hear something like that."
"He was so cute, I wonder if he's even better looking..."
I almost said yes totally but I quickly stopped myself.
I didn't need her wondering how I knew that, and why I was hanging around Derek now.
I finished a vase when the door bell went off as someone walked in.
"Hello," I said, turning and stopping.
Standing right in front of me was Scott and another young guy.
"Hey.. I'm looking for some flowers," Scott said.
"Really I thought we were coming for something else," the young guy answered sarcastically. "She knows that already duh."
"What kind of flowers?" I asked.
"One that means I'm sorry I'm the biggest jerk alive," the teen answered with a smile.
I looked at Scott.
"Stiles really?" He asked.
I smiled. "In trouble with a girl?"
"Something like that," Scott answered.
"Well yellow usually is associated with sorry and friendship. If it's a girl you really are interested in, I'd recommend yellow roses. If you really like her and she's your girlfriend I'd recommend yellow and red roses."
"Great I'll take that!" Scott answered quickly.
I turned getting a few flowers around when Stiles bumped into the vase I had just set up.
I caught it right before it hit the ground, which was humanly impossible.
They were quiet and I just stared at them.
"No way! You're one of them!" Stiles whispered.
"One what?" I asked.
"Like Scott!"
Scott looked at me and I nervously smiled.
"Umm..." I mumbled.
"You're one of us aren't you?" He asked. "What's your name?"
I pointed to my name tag that had Elizabeth printed on it.
"Does Derek know?" Stiles asked. "Do you know Derek? Cause word of advice he's real scary and should not be approached."
I squinted my eyes, looking at him.
"Oh my- she's In cahoots with him!" Stiles whispered in a high pitched voice.
"I'm not in cahoots, he's teaching me."
"What did he tell you?" Scott asked.
"That I need to learn to control my impulses and how to control under the full moon."
"Last night?"
"I had to be chained up."
"Derek did it?" Stiles asked.
"It has to be done."
"Did he tell you the Hunters found us?"
"Found us?!"
"Derek and I, last night in the woods."
"No, he didn't."
Stiles and Scott looked at each other.
"You trust him?" Stiles asked.
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Because we think he's the one who killed that girl in the woods the other night."
"Why would he do that?"
Stiles shrugged. "Why does Derek do anything?"
I crossed my arms. "And why should I trust two teenagers?"
Stiles mouth fell open and he smacked his forehead. "She's defending him! He's made her fall for him!"
"I didn't fall for him," I answered with distaste. "Just tell me why I shouldn't trust him."
"Well, for starters he didn't tell you how close the Hunters are to finding us," Scott answered.
"They don't know about me."
"Yet."
"All I'm saying is he didn't tell you about that- there's a lot more he hasn't. Like the girl in the woods."
I finished the flowers and handed them to Scott without a word.
"You should listen Scott. If the Hunters are out there... I don't want them finding us because you shifted uncontrollably."
"Derek would be proud, you sound just like him."
I crossed my arms and pursed my lips as Scott walked out.
I got home from work and hung my purse up and sighed.
I was making dinner when I heard the buzzer go off.
I went to it.
"Who is it?" I asked.
"Derek."
I stood back a moment and I wondered what he was doing here.
I hit the unlock button and went to my door, I opened it and he was standing there.
I cocked my head, resting on the doorframe.
"Hi," I said.
He didn't answer and I let him in.
"So you used the door," I said, going back to dinner. "Did you drive that fancy Camaro of yours?" I asked, looking out the window and seeing it. "Pretty cool, always wanted a fancy car."
Derek once again didn't answer.
"Did you need something?" I asked.
"No."
"Okay?" I replied, handing him a plate of food and grabbing myself one.
He looked at it then at me.
"What? I'm not eating alone. You came here so you get fed doesn't sound so bad."
I sat at the table and grabbed two forks, handing one to Derek who sat down and took a bite of the food.
"Good?"
"Yes," he answered.
I smiled. "So, I met your friends today, he was buying flowers."
"For Allison?"
"I assume so, is that his girlfriend? They know I'm like this," I told him. "They said I shouldn't trust you," I finished, looking at him, resting my chin on my hand.
"Are you going to listen to them?" He asked.
"I don't know, should I?"
He sighed and looked at me, his stare unbreakably serious.
"What happened last night when you went out?"
"I feel like you're going to tell me."
"The Hunters? Scott?"
"They found us, but we escaped."
"How soon before they really find us? Is that who burned the house?"
"I think I should go."
"Derek wait!"
I quickly got up and grabbed his forearm. "I trust you, but I can't if you don't tell me anything and someone else is. If something happens, tell me."
"Thanks for dinner."
"Anytime," I whispered.
He stared at me, like he wanted to tell me something but left and I sighed, gently hitting the back of my head on the door.
It wasn't suppose to happen like this.
