(Chae pov)
Chaeyoung just stared at her phone. She didn't know what to do.
Should she smile? Cry?
How could re-living old memories make her feel good and bad at the same time?
She pressed play and listened to the girl sing her parts again. Then again.
"Fuck you Roseanne." Chaeyoung huffed. "You had everything. The talent, the fans, but look at you now."
She looked at her reflection in the phone screen. "Now you have a permanent headache and withdrawals."
Chaeyoung succumbed to her negative thoughts. Could she even hit a high note like that anymore? Would her body let her?
Could she even play the guitar anymore? Or even the piano? Both the instruments she loved and adored.
She began scrolling through the videos comments. Seventy percent of them were about the girl named Roseanne.
The girl also named Chaeyoung.
The comments made her smile for the most part, until she read one that was pretty recent compared to the outdated video.
'That Roseanne's voice is amazing. Wonder where she is now?'
Chaeyoung felt tears swell up in her eyes.
She was here, busy being a fuck up.
Roseanne must be a missing person, because she's obviously not a part of her anymore.
After a couple of hours, mainly spent crying softly or sketching, Chaeyoung made her way to the restroom to fix herself up.
While she was in there, she could here the soft sounds of feet hitting the floor, making her grow curious.
Chaeyoung entered the garage and walked towards the back of the room. She noticed a door and opened it a bit.
Inside was a smaller but well lit room, with mirrors on every wall and a sweaty Lisa and BamBam in the middle.
BamBam was laying on his back on the hard wood while Lisa was dancing in the mirror. And she was good.
"How are you already better at it when I created it?" BamBam huffed. "I really don't get it. You're like a computer."
"Just skill BamBam. I'm better than you." Lisa teased and went back to watching herself in the mirror.
Chaeyoung noticed how strong her gaze was. She no longer looked like the happy yet kind of shy seventeen year old.
She looked hot.
Suddenly Chaeyoung felt those butterflies again in her stomach after thinking that. Each move she witnessed Lisa do sent more throughout her.
Could she like her? It would explain her feelings right now. And watching her, Chaeyoung thinks she's pretty incredible.
But then suddenly, Lisa takes off her top and is left in only her sports bra.
BamBam claps and whistles sending Lisa into a bigger fit of confidence. Her moves became even more powerful.
The sweat combined with her soft abs and toned body, to Chaeyoung's surprise, made her look stunning.
No wonder people at school liked her.
Lisa then made a move that consisted of dropping low and practically grinding on the ground before laying on her stomach.
BamBam clapped again. "Go Manoban!"
Chaeyoung suddenly felt hot while watching. And a sting of jealousy.
What if BamBam and her did have something? What if Lisa didn't like her as anymore than a friend because she's with BamBam?
Soon the garage door was opening and Chaeyoung got embarrassed. She quickly pulled the door almost shut and walked up to where Ami was pulling in from behind her.
"Hey Chaeyoung. Come to help me with the groceries?"
She nodded.
"Awe that's so sweet of you. How'd you even know I had some? Oh it doesn't matter. You're probably just psychic." Ami joked.
"Here, I have quite a few bags but I'll give you the ones from the backseat to start." Ami handed her a couple bags.
"Hey mom."
Chaeyoung flinched at the sudden voice behind her.
"Hey Chae." Lisa said to her, coming up next to her.
"Oh hi honey, want to give us a hand?" Ami greeted.
"Sure!" Lisa went up to her and grabbed some bags too. Chaeyoung couldn't help noticing she was still only in her sports bra.
"Hey Auntie A." BamBam said walking up.
Auntie?
"Bam! I thought that was your car. It's been awhile."
"Yeah a month at least. Where's the heavier stuff? I'll help you with those since I'm the strongest one, obviously."
Ami laughed and gestured to some bags in the back.
"We're strong too loser." Lisa laughed before motioning to the door. Chaeyoung turned and began walking inside.
Still feeling a bit jealous.
"We can set them on the table." Lisa said from behind her. Chaeyoung obliged and sat them down.
She then glanced over at Lisa who was reaching across the table. Trying to push her bags to the far side.
Her body stretched to allow her the reach she needed. And it looked so-
Chaeyoung quickly turned around and walked back into the garage. No looking at Lisa. Stop that.
Soon they had all the bags inside.
Ami, Lisa, and BamBam were deep in conversation in what Chaeyoung could only assume was Thai. She had no clue BamBam was too.
Now she felt even more let down. Lisa and him were practically made for each other. Both Thai, tall, dancers, smart, funny.
Chaeyoung was just stupid.
She quietly backed away from them, and retreated to her room. Only a few minutes went by when her door was opened.
"Hey." Lisa said, thankfully clothed in her t shirt again.
Chaeyoung just looked at her.
Lisa's smile faltered a bit but she kept it on. "I'm sorry. I noticed you seemed a bit left out while we were talking."
"Sometimes it's nice for us to speak our mother tongue together, but we should have been more considerate."
"It's okay." Chaeyoung whispered. Hating herself for sounding as sad as she did.
"Well, mom's making dinner for us. BamBam was invited to stay and eat by my mom. I hope that's okay."
"Oh." Chaeyoung nodded lightly.
"Sit by me?" Lisa asked suddenly. "I like having you close to me."
It took a second for Chaeyoung to acknowledge what Lisa just said, it felt like her heart had stopped. But in the end she nodded, Lisa's sweetness something she couldn't refuse.
Lisa extend her hand out, Chaeyoung grabbing it slowly. Lisa lifted her up and smiled, walking her out to the table.
BamBam and Ami sat next to each other while Chaeyoung seated herself next to Lisa. Dinner was already waiting for them at the table, all of them taking their first bites together.
"Mom this is amazing."
"Yeah Ami, it's incredible." BamBam agreed.
"Thank you both." Ami responded.
Chaeyoung looked to her and smiled. Ami smiled back and nodded her head, knowing Chaeyoung agreed.
"Do you like these?" Lisa whispered to her, holding out some vegetables on her fork.
Chaeyoung nodded.
"Well here, you can have them." She put the vegetables in her bowl and went back to taking out more.
When Lisa got to the last ones she held the fork up to Chaeyoung. Who just looked at her confused.
"Here." Lisa said moving the fork closer. Chaeyoung knew what she was doing but felt weird. "Chae?" Lisa lifted a brow.
Chaeyoung finally opened her mouth and Lisa fed it to her. Chae rolled her eyes at Lisa's obvious smile.
When they both looked forward, Ami and BamBam were staring at them, with smiles plastered on their faces.
"Well wasn't that the cutest thing. Right Auntie A?" BamBam teased.
"You're sure right Bam, cutest thing I've ever witnessed."
Both Chaeyoung and Lisa blushed. Chaeyoung looking down while Lisa made a snarky response.
Both Ami and BamBam just chuckled.
Dinner was almost over when Chaeyoung was taking one of her last bites. Suddenly her hand spasmed and she dropping her fork on the table.
"Chae, you okay?" Lisa asked her worriedly.
Chaeyoung nodded but held her hand. It was starting to shake again.
Her headache had been bad all day, but she was near used to it now.
"Hey," Lisa whispered. "Don't think about it."
Chaeyoung could tell Lisa wanted to hold her hand, unfortunately the current one shaking was her left, the dominate one.
But Lisa held her right hand anyways.
"I should probably get going. I didn't expect to be here this long." BamBam said after a couple minutes of side conversation.
"Alright sweetie, it was good seeing you again." Ami replied. Giving BamBam a hug from her seat.
"Good seeing you too Ami. Bye Loser." He then said to Lisa.
"Bye stupid."
"Ouch." He laughed. He then looked to her. "Good seeing you Chaeyoung. Feel better."
Chae smiled and nodded. Then BamBam let himself out and his vehicle could be heard starting in the distance.
"Well Lisa should hop in the shower because you've been dancing and we can tell." Ami teased.
"I do not stink." Lisa pouted.
"You do a little Lis." Her mom said while collecting the bowls and placing them in the sink.
Lisa looked down at their hands. Then peeked over to see that Chaeyoung's other one was still shaking.
Chaeyoung knew Lisa could feel her right hand twitching too.
"I can't shower yet, not while Chaeyoung needs me." She said.
They looked at each other, Lisa smiling softly of course. Chaeyoung didn't know why, but she didn't want Lisa to hold her. Not right now.
She removed her hand from hers, to Lisa's dissatisfaction.
"Chae?"
"I'm okay."
"But, you're-"
"I know." Chaeyoung got up and went over to Ami. "Can I help?"
"Oh, sure Chaeyoung. I'm sure we can wash them in record time together." Ami smiled.
"But Chae." Lisa said standing up. There was a hint of sadness in her voice.
"She'll be okay honey. Her hands aren't too bad and I'm sure they'll be fine washing dishes. Go shower." Ami replied softly.
"Okay." Lisa sighed. Turning around and walking up the stairs.
"Sometimes I think she cares too much." Ami said while handing Chaeyoung's some gloves.
"Yeah."
"You felt a little smothered right?" Ami asked. "Lisa would always get on my nerves whenever she'd take care of me while I was sick."
Chaeyoung nodded. "I just want," she began. Ami waited for her, like the sweet woman she is.
"To take care of m-myself too."
Ami smiled and nodded. "You are, you're doing great."
"No I'm not." Chaeyoung sighed. "L-Look at me." She motioned to her bandaged arm.
Ami, put her dish down and gave Chaeyoung her undivided attention. "That is not your fault."
"But I-"
"You are doing something that your body is struggling to handle. Of course judgement is going to be blurred and you're going to think and feel things you aren't used to." Ami started.
"But if you know what happened wasn't good, and try to better yourself from it. Then I only see you as someone who's getting better. Not worse."
"Thank you Ami." Chaeyoung replied. She wasn't going to be able to say much else without crying.
"Of course Chaeyoung."
After about fifteen minutes, Chaeyoung made her way to her bathroom. She brushed her teeth and used her face wash before entering her bedroom.
She changed into her pajamas and crawled into bed. Going on her phone for a bit as she grew more tired.
There was a knock on her door. Lisa quietly entered, her hair still damp from her shower.
"Oh, I didn't know you would be in bed already. Sorry." Lisa said quietly.
"It's fine."
"I just um." She walked over and sat on the bed. "I wanted to check on you."
Chaeyoung held out her hands, they were both shaking but not that much. They were almost back to normal.
"Okay, well... would you want to sleep with me anyways?" Lisa asked sheepishly. "Just in case."
Chaeyoung thought for a moment, before shaking her head no. She wanted to be independent. If something happened. She would be alright.
On her own.
"Please." Lisa whispered. "I sleep better when I'm with you."
Chaeyoung looked to her and stared. Wait... Lisa wanted her to sleep with her? Not just because of a possible withdrawal?
"Never mind. It's fine. Have a goodnight." Lisa suddenly said, getting up and exiting through the door.
Chaeyoung just stared wildly towards it. So Lisa enjoyed her company? Just as much as she herself enjoyed hers?
