TWINKLE'S POV
Today maa said her friends are coming home. So I was helping Sarah in the kitchen. We had prepared many dishes. I prepared deserts and strawberry cake. Maa loves my strawberry cake very much.
"Baby girl! Is everything ready baby? " maa asked me.
"Yes maa! Only decorating the cake is pending." I said.
"I will do it. You go get ready. My friends will be here any minute." maa said.
"Maa, it's just decorating. I will do it. It will not take much time. Please! " Maa shook her head.
"Ethan! Come down." maa called Ethan. I knew why she called him. There is no way I can escape now. The main reason I didn't want to get ready is because, I'm scared. I'm scared of meeting new people. But now there is no way I can escape this.
Ethan came down and stood next to me.
"Mom, why did you call me? " Ethan asked.
"Ethan take her to her room. She is working from morning. And it's high time now. My friends will be here any minute and look at her, she is not even dressed. I want you to take her to her room." Maa said with a strict voice.
Ethan started pulling me. I didn't move, so he being my idiot friend. He carried me to my room again. I like it when he carries me. I feel safe. He threw me on the bed.
Thank God! I turned before he put me down. Or else I would have fallen face down. I would have hurt my baby.
"Twinkle get ready. Mom will scold me again. Get up now!" I didn't. He smirked. There is lot of meaning behind that smirk. OK I have dug my own grave.
"Aww Twinkle ! You want me to dress you up. Fine then. Come to daddy baby. I know you can't live without me. Let me doll you up." he tugged at my sweatpants to pull it down. I kicked him in the stomach.
"Twinkle, what the hell!!" he screamed.
"Take it idiot. This is what you get when you play with me. Now get out of my room. I will get ready." I said.
"You could have used your mouth to tell that. There is no need to apply your ninja tricks on me. Mom has kept the dress for you in the bathroom. Get dressed." I nodded.
"get out my dear! Do you want to see my ninja tricks again." he ran from my room. I started laughing like a mad woman. He never fails to make me laugh.
I took shower and got dressed. Maa had bought a light pink sundress. It had a cute little bow in the middle. It was really a cute outfit. Thank God this dress is not a skin fit dress. I didn't want my bump to be seen. Later I applied some lip gloss and mascara. I'm not fond of makeup. I left my hair down in loose curls. My moms chain was dangling around my neck and it was highlighting my look.
I held my moms locket and stared at it in the mirror.
"Mom, I miss you so much. Your girl is becoming a mother and your not there to see it. Look at my bump mom. It's growing bigger and bigger day by day." I rubbed my bump softly.
I can't hide this from Maa anymore. I have to tell her before its too late. There was a knock on my door.
"Hi Twinkle! Ready?" Samuel asked. He as usual was in his suit. He looked so handsome. And his after shave smell, it was so intoxicating.
"Yeah I'm ready. Come on let's go." I said.
"Twinkle something is missing. Come with me." he led me inside.
"Give me your hand." I did as he said.
He placed a diamond bracelet on my wrist. I immediately pulled my hand back.
"no Samuel! I can't take this. I'm sorry." I turned around to leave. But he held my hand and pulled me back.
"Twinkle, don't you like it. It's OK, I will buy an other one. Don't go away from me." his eyes held pain.
"Samuel your mistaken. It's really beautiful. I love it, but I can't accept it. It looks expensive. I'm not worth this." I said.
"Twinkle, if that's what you feel, then your wrong. Your worth more than this. This is just a small piece of gift. Please take it. For my sake." I nodded. He placed it around my wrist. It looked so beautiful. It sparkled so much. I hugged Samuel.
"Thank you so much Samuel." by this time tears were falling freely.
"Twinkle don't cry. Mom will think I have done something to you. Come on now. She is waiting for you." I nodded and linked my arm with his.
When I reached the hall, Ethan came and stood next to me. He pulled me away from Samuel. He linked his arm with mine now. I was about to ask what he was doing, but Samuel interjected.
"Ethan! What the hell are you doing?" Ethan just shrugged his shoulders. Samuel was irritated now. He pulled me towards him. Ethan pulled me towards him again. These both were pulling me now. My hands were paining.
"Guys stop!" both didn't stop. They kept pulling. Maa came out to see what's going on.
"Ethan! Samuel! Let go of her. You're hurting her." They both let go of me. I ran to Maa. I started crying now.
"What are you doing? Why are you people troubling her? Look she is crying now." I know I was over reacting now. But it's not my mistake. I cry for simple reasons nowadays.
They both came and stood next to me.
"I'm sorry! " both said in unison. They looked so cute. Ethan pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back. I couldn't stay angry with them. Samuel pulled me back and hugged me now.
God! What is wrong with these boys? Why are they acting like this.
"Guys stop it! Care to explain why are you acting like this." I asked them.
"Twinkle you're mine!" Ethan said.
"No she is mine! " Samuel said.
"What!! Will you both just drop it. I'm not anyone's. Maa, tell them to stop this act." I was angry now. Bell rang.
"Looks like guests have arrived. Stop all this now." maa said and opened the door. I glared at these to idiots. Both where throwing eye daggers at each other. If looks could kill, they would be burried six feet down. I hit both on their heads.
"Guys, behave like grown ups. We will talk about this later. For now please stop killing each other." they both nodded.
Maa's friends entered. I was shocked to see who entered. It was Nina along with few of her friends. Which means Nina is Maa's friend. I can't stay here. If she gets to know I'm here, she will create a scene. I turned around to leave but Maa called me.
"Twinkle! come here baby." Maa called.
"Shit!" Ethan and Samuel heard me.
"Is anything wrong Twinkle?" Samuel asked me. I couldn't answer. I didn't know what to answer.
"Nothing.. Nothing.. I'm just... Just.." I couldn't tell them.
"Twinkle, something is definitely wrong. Twinkle, tell us what is wrong?" Ethan asked. Before I reply maa called again. Over! my happy life ends now.
"Friends meet my daughter, Twinkle!" everyone turned to see me. My eyes were focused on Nina. She was shocked to see me. I went and stood next to mom.
"She is so pretty. You never said us that you had a daughter before." one of her friend asked.
"Yeah! I didn't because, she came into my life recently. She is God gifted daughter to me. I love her so much." Maa said. I was overwhelmed with her words. But my mind was clogged with Nina being here.
"Oh that's great. You have really pretty daughter. I wish to have a daughter like her." one of her friend said. Nina was silent. She was just staring back at me.
"Twinkle! Go and bring the drinks." maa said. I nodded and left. Ethan and Samuel where busy with there laptops.
As soon as I went to the kitchen, I breathed out. I didnt know I was holding my breath until now. Sweat formed on my forehead. I have to do something. I took the drinks. Sarah helped me with carrying one more tray. I served it to each one. Now it was time for me to serve Nina. My hands started to shake.
I remember Nina didn't like to take anything from my hand. She use to tell that I'm ugly and I'm a bad luck. And that she doesn't want me touch any of her things. Now I was even more scared to serve her. I held the tray in front of her.
"Ma'am!" I called her. She took the drink without a word. I was disappointed now. She could have atleast greeted me like others. I'm happy that she didn't create a scene, but was sad that she didn't care that I'm here. Twinkle! Don't you remember, they never cared for you. Whether you're alive or dead, it doesn't matter to them. They are happy now. They don't want you.
I couldn't stay there anymore so I left after serving.
