Today was a good day. It had been a few years but you were finally on your way back to Beacon from Haven Academy. You became a teacher there a couple years after graduating from Beacon as a means of getting paid the fastest. Nowadays, you loved the job and you loved teaching the kids. But, you were on a flight to Vale for one major reason, the Vytal Festival was in preparations to begin within a few months. So, you were traveling with your students to Beacon to see them all in action for yourself.
Your students were also excited as they could fight head on and earn the glory and tactical know-how for their school, but also themselves. Truthfully speaking, the entire tournament was one big learning experience for students as they could focus on their weaknesses. After a long flight, you along with team ABRN, the rest of SSSN (seeing as their leader left two months ago) and WIOW arrived at Beacon. While the students ran off to try and find some friends, you took a deep breath and took in the sights of Beacon once again.
(Y/N): Man is it nice to be back here.
You glanced around the place and could already see numerous students enjoying one another and having a good time. You smiled and took off to a place you thought you would never return to, Ozpin's office. You had no real reason for going other than wanting to see your old headmaster once again. That and your boss, Professor Leonardo Lionheart had told you to deliver some files to Beacon's leader.
Curiosity had gotten you intrigued, but you weren't going to look at it. As it stands, you were under strict orders not to, so might as well comply. Once you were inside the office, you knocked on the side of the elevator door to get Ozpin's attention.
Ozpin: Yes? Is something the-(Y/N).
(Y/N): Professor.
Ozpin got up and walked over to you. You both shook one another's hands and walked back to his desk.
Ozpin: What do I owe the pleasure?
(Y/N): Well, several things. For starters, Haven supervisor for the teams competing in the Vytal Festival. Hope you don't mind the influx of students.
Ozpin: Not at all. Anything else?
(Y/N): Well, Professor Lionheart wanted you to have these files. (Hands him the folder) He said it was urgent.
Ozpin nodded and took the folder and scanned through it to see it's contents.
Ozpin: Very well. Thank you, (Y/N). Now, please cont-
The elevator door opened and in walked someone you never knew you would see again.
Glynda: Professor Ozpin, we have had another incident involving teams RWBY and-(Y/N). It's...it's good to see you again.
(Y/N): Glynda...it's uh, been awhile.
Ozpin got up and walked up to you two.
Ozpin: I will handle the students. You two have some catching up to do.
Ozpin walked off while you and Glynda stood and watched him walk off.
(Y/N): There weren't any Haven students in that because then I'll get in trouble.
Glynda: Nope. Just Beacon.
(Y/N): (Sighs) That's a relief.
Glynda gave you an annoyed stare.
(Y/N): What? I don't want to be fired. You have the cool guy!
Glynda slowly begun to laugh to herself. You couldn't help but laugh along side her like you used to do all those years ago.
Glynda: So...coffee?
(Y/N): Yeah.
So, you and Glynda wondered on down through the halls and walkways of Beacon, finally reaching a small shop that offered students and teachers beverages and warm, baked goods. You two got your coffee and sat down in a corner seat away from the main crowd.
Glynda: So, you really did get that job with Haven.
(Y/N): Yep. History Head. Didn't earn the PhD for fun.
Glynda: You sound like a colleague of mine.
(Y/N): Good or bad thing?
Glynda: For you, good.
(Y/N): Sooo...how have you been?
Glynda: Alright. Nothing to overly exciting.
(Y/N): Well, its the life we chose. I mean, we could just quit and-
Glynda: Pick up where we left off?
(Y/N): If you're willing? I'd be okay with that. (Glynda raises an eyebrow) Not saying you have to quit. No. We can make long distance work. We've done it before.
Glynda: Then you permanently moved to Mistral and it didn't.
You sighed a bit and sat back in your chair. You rubbed the back of your neck while Glynda continued drinking her afternoon coffee. You looked at her again and sat back up.
(Y/N): So...do you want to give it another try? (Glynda again raises an eyebrow in a questioning way) Look, I'm here until the tournament ends which is in 3 months. We can do something with that...right?
Glynda: (Y/N), I just don't know. We haven't been together in almost a decade.
(Y/N): Well, that's what we did at Beacon, just a bit beyond.
Glynda: (Y/N), I really like you. But...we cannot make this work. Not with our own work we have to deal with.
(Y/N): (Whispering) Yeah. Ok.
You and Glynda got up and hugged one another before going your separate ways. You turned and watched your old fire walk off back to the main campus living for some teachers. You sighed and wondered back to your rented room and decided to call it a night there. After getting inside, you crashed on your bed, got some coffee and dinner ready and ate in silence while watching coverage of Vale news. You also began to review possible missions that you could take on around Vale.
In all honestly, you really wanted to find new work in Vale. Not because you hated Haven, hell no. You just thought it would be both better and easier to manage a relationship with Glynda if you both were in Vale. Despite what she said earlier that day, you wanted to make this relationship happen like did almost 10 years ago.
While you were browsing, you finally found an opening for a job that you knew could work. A smile grew on your face and you could finally complete your goal. A month later, Beacon Dance began and you decided to attend. Reason one was because it was mandatory for teacher ambassadors to attend. Secondly was a surprise.
After you got to the dance, you saw several of your students enjoying themselves and having a grand old time. You smiled and continued to look around the room until you found Ozpin and Glynda. You took a deep breath, gathered your pride and walked over to the two. Glynda must have seen you coming because she gave you and smiled and walked over to met you half way.
Glynda: Well, you look rather dashing.
(Y/N): What can I say, I like sprucing up my look every once and awhile. Although, and don't hate me for saying this, I would have thought you would have worn something more-
Glynda: Appropriate other than a skirt.
(Y/N): If you don't mind me saying?
Glynda: I don't at all. So...I take it you would like a dance?
(Y/N): If you're offering?
Glynda gave you a small smile and raised her hands. You took her hands and began to sway to the soft music. You glanced over to Ozpin and offered up a thumbs up to see if he and you were on the same page. He gave you a smile, a nod and another thumbs up. You had finally done it.
(Y/N): So, I have something else I wanted to tell you.
Glynda: And that something is?
(Y/N): I got a new job. Here, at Beacon.
Glynda: Wait? You're moving here.
(Y/N): Is that-
Glynda cut you off with a massive kiss on your lips. You returned it with equal passion like you used to do back in the day. Finally you two broke the kiss and stared into one another's eyes.
Glynda: Why though?
(Y/N): I needed you. And that's what I want to do for you. Sacrifice to make sure we're both happy.
Glynda: So...you want to move in?
(Y/N): Wouldn't mind it.
Glynda: Good. Because I will make you move in!
(Y/N): (Laughs) There's my Goodwitch.
The two of you kissed one another yet and and held one another in a tight embrace. Your future had arrived for the better.
