Hayden's POV
What the hell? Every time I get him back he runs away again! What did I do this time?! All I was doing was talking to Railin. Is he really that insecure?
All these thoughts run through my head when I see Darin run out the door. It slams behind him & makes me jump. I sigh & turn to Makayla. She just shrugs & looks back out the window.
I frown & huff in frustration.
Ugh!! Everyone is being crazy!
When I look back at Railin my face softens.
He looks so innocent & broken. He always has a smile. It's weird to see him like this. He's the strong one. He always keep it together. Seeing him like this hurts so badly. It makes me want to cry for hours on end.
I don't know what's wrong with me.
Today has been a roller coaster of surprises. First the fight with Amy at lunch. Then Railin confirming what she said in the car, our kiss, & me rejecting him. My dad coming back. Adrian being pregnant. Darin's call & picking him up. Railin's accident & now Darin's second disappearance.
The fact that I actually might feel something for Railin just tops it off. God what is wrong with me? This is insane. Why does everything have to happen today? All I did was want to have a good day at school. Is that too much to ask?
Every since I got together with Darin everyone suddenly notices me. Why does it matter if we are together?! Is it that crazy that Darin Wilard, King of the Sophomores, could like me? I know I'm not popular, but god does it matter if I'm dating him or not? He likes me. I like him. We belong together. Why can't everyone get over it & butt out of my life?
"Ugh!!!" I scream as I slam my fist on the floor of the room beside Railin's hospital bed. Quickly I stand up and run out the door. I'm not looking as tears stream down my face & I crash into something hard.
"Sorry." I mumble without looking up. I turn to walk away, but the person grabs my arm & spins me to them. I look up at their face in surprise & annoyance. My eyes start to focus. The figure smiles sheepishly & pulls me into a hug.
"It's ok Haydi-bear." He says.
Confusion fills my mind.
The only one who calls me Haydi-bear is...
I look up quickly focusing on his face. I break into a wide smile.
"Caden?!" I ask.
